About a week ago when the entry list was revealed, there were 68 cars on the field. However, due to somewhat intimidating amount of driver and a family emergency that needs their attention more than racing, Xavier and Timothy both agreed (for one, FINALLY) to scratch their names off from this week's race. Their Uncle had a nasty heart attack and wanted to see Rex Ruiz, Xavier and Timothy's father. They were given the option to stay but neither wanted to stay at the race track as this might be the farewell to their uncle. As of now, their uncle, named Victor Ruiz, is in stable condition. Xavier and Timothy plan on doing a make up race sometime later. There's are reports that Timothy and Xavier have made up but it's a wait and see if these are true or false.

Rick Forest looks strong early

Rick Forest, coming off the back of a Cinderella year, proves he was no fluke with a 2nd place qualifying in the #8 for Pearson Sweeney Motorsports. The short track veteran has gained respect among the garage, and hopes to turn this start into another victory.

Rick Forest Racing meanwhile also qualifies for the race, with Ryan Forest making the field as he makes his first of 10 starts for his family owned team. With Rick winning last year, Ryan hopes to keep the car in one piece, and help develop his younger cousin Dominic.
