Qualifying was split into two rounds. The first round, containing all cars, was 20 minutes in length. The second round, containing the top twenty drivers from the first round, lasted 10 minutes. The first round of qualifying went without incident. At the start of the second round, the #01 of Phillip Benoit-Hogan lost the transmission as he was leaving his pit stall, causing the car to come to a stop in pit out. Benoit-Hogan was not able to set a lap in the second round of qualifying, and will be sent to the back of the grid for changing the transmission.
