That one's on Outlaw, pushing Johnson a touch too much. 17 cars involved, including both Ganassi entries, Sofas, Menerds and Dinger.

The wrecks we have seen this weekend, let alone this race....Geez. Thank lord that Kenseth's car didn't catch the fence or that would have been bad. And Thank lord Patrick's alright.

I was more worried about Danica than Kenseth. She hit that inside wall big time.

Re: NASCAR and ARCA at Talladega
Considering what has been happening in terms of wrecks, I am convinved that drivers like Annett and Danica would have at least had trouble getting out of the car after the wreck if it happened 10 years ago.

My thoughts on that camera man is best described by the immortal words of Deadpool: "Hope he wore the brown pants."
Dear NASCAR: No one's been hurt, no reason to neuter the cars after this.

From the camera position, I thought he was going over the fence.

They've been getting really lucky today. Wasn't that long ago Eric McClure got a pretty bad concussion from a hit almost identical to the one Danica took.

I think it was Kevin Harvick, not Whitt.
Good win for Keselowski. Overall a fairly entertaining, yet frightening race.

Re: NASCAR and ARCA at Talladega
Buescher and Kenseth Flipped, Harvick half flipped.
Honestly, I want to say the race was really good, but I'm going to give them a pass on the plethora of wrecks cause there wasn't a bs finish.
Next up: Kansas.

Re: NASCAR and ARCA at Talladega
I'm not surprised we had 2 flips, with the amount bumping that was happening. I was concerned Kenseth was going to go over the fence on the backstretch. Overall glad everyone is physically okay (Maybe not so much mentally).

Good job Kez on that dominant victory. This was a good, but rather a frightening race indeed.

Re: NASCAR and ARCA at Talladega
The track and cars aren't the problem.
We have 40 capable drivers all going for it, not giving one single inch. These wrecks were mostly driver error. Daytona didn't have this. I mostly put it on the drivers just not giving anything, no give and take, especially when a chase birth is on the line.

Re: NASCAR and ARCA at Talladega
Fun race. Crashy, but apart from that we had good racing, which is all I could ask for.
People are complaining about this race and I can't understand why. If it's because it was a crashfest, that's understandable. But there's not much you can do about it without changing the mindset of a driver, which is no doubt hard to do. I'll point to what Luc was saying, it's mostly a matter of guys trying to go all out too soon. On the topic of safety, there's such a double standard that I keep hearing: The safety allows drivers to think they can go all out, but if you took that away, people would complain about the racing not being safe enough. We've had this argument a thousand times before. From my perspective, it's not worth arguing over anymore since the cars are about as safe as they could possibly be.
I laughed very hard when Michael Waltrip wrecked, and those of you on GOMA TS for this race definitely heard me. It's cute that Mikey still thinks he's competitive. I mean, he was saying in qualifying he was gonna run up front with Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and pass Jimmie Johnson. If only he had the talent to back that assertion up. Whether or not Mikey could be blamed for that wreck is up for debate, but I maintain that his first mistake was not pitting.

All it takes is a decent motor and a reasonable car to be able to have a shot at Talladega. Mikey could run until he was 70, and as long as the car is decent, he'll somehow have a shot.

Competitive as in not riding around mid-field all race and praying that you don't get swept away in a wreck. And also being competent enough to run with the leaders in the first place. Mikey fails in both categories.
Plus, on any other race weekend that Premium Motorsports car would be running no better than 30th.

Oh, I started betting before the race started, and I was betting on how many cars he would wreck. Also how many cars Darrell would wreck just by talking.

Re: NASCAR and ARCA at Talladega
Interesting factoid: By my count, there were only five cars that weren't in a wreck in yesterday's race. They are:
Brad Keselowski (winner)
Trevor Bayne (finished 10th)
Ty Dillon/Tony Stewart (finished 6th)
David Ragan (He was spared courtesy of an engine failure, finished 34th)
Chase Elliott (finished 5th)
(OOC: 800th post! )

Re: NASCAR and ARCA at Talladega
I'm not that concerned about the whole crashing thing in the race. Drivers were keeping a cool head, all the way until they could make it to half-way without pitting. The last couple of Plate-track smashfests that I can remember have been in similar circumstances. Dega Spring 2013, and Daytona July 2014. Both those and this race had the potential of ending at any minute, due to the weather, which is why the drivers were more aggressive.
