2016 PCC Series Silly Season

Compete Overhaul of Series Hierarchy Planned, Promotion-Relegation?

PCC Cup Series officials have announced a new series hierarchy and organizational plan for the upcoming 2016 season.  The PCC Cup Series will now be limited to 42 full-time cars comprised of 14 teams, which will field 3 cars apiece.  The PCC Lites presented by Zastava Series will expand to 36 full-time cars fielded by 18 teams, which will field 2 cars apiece.  A new series will be introduced, the PCC Trucks Series, which will be comprised of 24 full-time trucks fielded by 24 teams, which will field 1 truck apiece.  Special over-capacity events will not be affected by this announcement.

A promotion-relegation system is also in the works, where at the end of the season the bottom 3 teams from the PCC Cup and PCC Lites series will be demoted and downsized in accordance to the series below.  The top 3 teams from the PCC Lites and PCC Trucks series will be promoted and expanded in accordance to the above series.

Adult film star Ramsey Coquinner announced the formation of Nice Coq Racing. The team has applied to PCC officials to run in the PCC Cup Series. The team plans to run #69, #169, and #969 if accepted.

Yokoyama to make debut in the series

Rookie Mason Yokoyama was supposed to make his debut in Portugal before the universal collapse. He might be running the full season but he is not really sure if he could. He might be driving for his own team or another team.

Manticore Engineering Claims Resurgence Imminent

A Manticore Engineering official claimed that not even the universal collapse will be able to stop them in their quest to dominate the Cup series.
"The level of excellence to which we operate cannot be contained by conventional measures." a team spokesperson said.
"We will vanquish the competition when the season begins, count on it. Expect it."

The team reportedly intends to run with numbers 2, 3, and 4. It isn't known what car they intend to use.

Treck Tauger looking to return to PCC Cup
After reportedly been missing since 2011, Treck Tauger has reported expressed interest in running the PCC Cup Series after 2 races in 2011. It was also reported that he might bring his American brother, Matt Tauger (2012 Cleveland Grand Prix one-off entrant) into his team if deals begin to surface.

Ike Durbin Looks to Return to PCC Cup

As the Silly Season for the 2016 PCC season comes into action, series regular Ike Durbin announced his intent to return to the PCC Cup Series. After two solid seasons driving for Great Lakes Motorsports, Durbin nearly won rookie of the year despite being up against Klara Kindahl, who was driving for the much stronger Manticore Engineering.

In an interview, Durbin had this to say, "Obviously I'm one of the best drivers on the grid right now. I'm young, in my prime, and have sponsorship behind me. If I don't wind up in a top notch ride then this is a farce of a series."

Durbin has yet to be linked to any rides.

Eckdahl Autosport To Make PCC Bid

Rumors are that Swedish investor and touring car team owner Lucian Eckdahl, Sr. is looking to take PCC by storm, as he prepares to bring Eckdahl Autosport to the PCC grid. Not much is known about this entry yet, however he reportedly is interested in securing a PCC Cup or PCC Lites slot, with his son, Lucian Eckdahl, Jr., as one of the drivers. No word on sponsorship as of yet, but it appears the team will have Audi backing.

Australian Motorsports wanting return to PCC Cup Series

Australian Motorsports are looking to line-up for the 2016 PCC Cup Series with 3 more Chevrolet cars. Louis Jones & Josh Marshall are set to drive, with New Zealand rookie Sapphire Anderson to drive the 3rd car. Marshall will run his No.18 with Mother Energy sponsorship, whilst Jones will run number 81 with Carlton Draught sponsorship. Anderson car will have V Energy Drink sponsorship, running the number 5.

Team Canada Returns, hires DeVilla

In a shocking announcement no one saw coming, Ray Domohte owner of Team Canada in the prior universe has announced he will enter into this universes version of PCC Cup. "We had so much fun with the last time, we decided to run it again. Heck! we even have a few cars left over from last year. We even found the corpse of former driver Jean Francois DeVilla and we were able to reanimate it. So yeah he'll be driving for us. We also got this hotshoe rookie named Vinny. We plan to run the Cars #1, the #8 and the #67.

WASCHER WANTS A GO ON PCC CUP FOR 2ND SEASON
Kris Wascher was extremely bad last season in PCC Cup. Somehow got a win at Talladega after a few poor results and he changed his tune for the rest of the races. Red Bull will stick to the sponsorship and the number 906 as well. Due to Wascher Motorsports not having enough funds due to the poor results last year, it has shut down, so Kris Wascher will have more money to focus on the car, and hopefully, a great team.
"I would love to be in PCC Cup for my 2nd season, but will anyone accept me? I sure hope so. Our back up plan is reopening Wascher Motorsports to contend in lights and/or trucks since they cost less money, and work our way back up the ladder to PCC Cup greatness."
Wascher will run Trucks and Lites at the same time if he doesn't get a ride in the famed PCC Cup.

After Alex Constantine saved himself and his friends from certain doom, He will celebrate by joining PCC Lights. He will drive the #007 Nintendo/Hatred: Mario Mix Lycoia and his good friend Austin Sanders will race in a #7 Microtransaction Studios Lycoia. Mary Sue, after destroying the original universe, said she will race in the Trucks in the #999 Chevy Truck for her own team Mary Sue Motorsports, and the Midgar, Tatooine, England native says she will be sponsored by her own brilliance.

Accelerator Motorsports complains about the world somehow surviving after recent apocalyptic events.

After the seemingly world ending events happening (again), the team called the entire planet a "The biggest godmodder we have ever known of. It should be penalized for cheating or something." After their initial complaint, the team decided to revitalize their racing campaign into the PCC Cup. Given their reputation as the test dummies for Lycoia proud factory team for Lycoia before something decided to fuck up the planet. The team will use the Lycoia Infiltrator. You know, for consistency purposes, definitely not coercion or blackmail purposes, nope.

They hope to reserve the numbers 41 and 96. Greg Woodard in the 41 taking up the reigns as the lead driver. Dan Foray in the 96 being his lovable sidekick co-driver.

Woodard will drive a car sponsored by Roehl Transportation, a rinky-dink trucking company from Cheeseheadland (Wisconsin). Foray will probably wind up driving Phoenix Performance or some second-rate sponsor that has no real financial support.

Joe Craig hopes to regain full time ride in PCC

After the catastrophic event, veteran PCC compeititor Joe Craig survived certain death by fending all strange attackers with katanas. Now, he is solely focused on racing in the PCC Cup where he has been inconsistent, but won two races with Raptor Racing. Craig is now looking for a full time ride. "I have Penzoil sponsorship with me still. I also proved I can survive in this series by surviving the apocalypse." If he couldn't get a full time ride, he could resort to other options.

Eckdahl Autosport Confirms PCC Lites Bid, Funding

Swedish team Eckdahl Autosport recently confirmed that their focus for 2016 will be with the PCC Lites presented by Zastava, as they intend to debut their two-car team in PCC competition. While the owner's license is still pending according to sources, the team reportedly has requested numbers 39 and 93 and have backing for both cars, though the sponsorship for the cars has yet to be announced.

Lucian Eckdahl, Jr., who will pilot one of the machines, has run in global touring car leagues. Known for tearing up equipment frequently, he moves to PCC to see if he will adapt better to the cars.

Ike Durbin, Inc., Michaels to Run PCC Trucks Series

After running their first full season in the PCC Cup Series in 2014, Ike Durbin, Inc. will scale back to the newly introduced PCC Trucks Series, due to "severe financial strain" not at all caused by their idiot of a team owner.

The team plans to run with number 4, and will continue their partnership with Skullcandy.

Former PCC Cup team, Great Lakes Motorsports, has announced it's intention to run full-time in the PCC Truck Series in 2016. The team will run a 44 truck for their former PCC cup driver, Ryan Griffin.

The entry will be sponsored by Griffin's long time sponsor, HP Engineparts. Manufacture is TBD, though rumor is Ford is interested as is Dodge (who was associated with GLM's PCC Cup entries in previous years).

Tom Delgado to Bring His Massive Talent & Ego to Manticore

Team Canada announces plans for PCC Lights

After not being able to get into the PCC Cup, Team Canada Racing was able to get a PCC Lights franchise. The Canadian team will race with last years driver Alex Pausington and the reanimated corpse of Jean Francois DeVila, the team has asked to run numbers 18 and 67. meanwhile Pausington is opening up a PCC Truck team in hopes of getting a slot with that series. The truck will like run #333 and be driven by Ontario's Vinny LeBoeuf, with Tim Horton's funding.

Like the headline says, T.L.A. somehow found themselves in a strange world with the PCC. With the lights needing to fill the 18 team limit, Tony Long Autosport decided they will fill the last spot with their entries.

Durbin to Drive for Manticore in PCC Cup

With the silly season winding down for the 2016 PCC Cup Series, another rising star has finally found their place on the grid.  Ike Durbin, who completed his sophomore year last season, had found himself out of a ride with Great Lakes Motorsports scaling back to the PCC Trucks Series, and with how fast PCC Cup rides filled up, it looked as though Durbin would be forced to look elsewhere.   However, Durbin remained optimistic:

Apparently patience paid dividends, as reportedly Ike Durbin and Manticore Engineering held discussions regarding the 2016 season.  Said discussions would end with a contract agreement, solidifying Durbin a grid spot with arguably the strongest team on the grid.

In a press conference, Durbin glowed with excitement and confidence, clearly optimistic of his future with the team.

"It was inevitable in the end.  Manticore is the best team on the grid, and I'm the best driver.  If everything goes right, the championship will easily be ours."

When asked about being teammates and working with Tom Delgado, Durbin had this to say, "I don't think I'll need him; I'm good enough myself.  I don't know, I guess he could be a useful roadblock if he's behind me or something."

Clearly Ike Durbin sees a bright, successful tenure at Manticore in the future.

Shinra Electric Company to Sponsor Ike Durbin

Despite the W'rkncacnter, or something similar happening to the universe, Manticore Engineering has continued its usual plan of signing top sponsors with a solid reputation. The newest addition to the Manticore Engineering team is the Midgar-based Shinra Electric Company, who is rolling out plans to power the world with a new form of energy it calls 'Mako' energy.

Shinra Electric Company will be shown as the primary sponsor of Ike Durbin's car. While it is not known if it will be the only sponsor of Durbin's car, the presence of the Shinra Electric Company shows that Manticore Engineering has some of the most appealing advertisement space on the grid.

"With Tom Delgado and Ike Durbin, we clearly have two of the best drivers on the grid." a team press release said.
"Now that the Shinra Electric Company has joined us, we have aligned ourself with one of the primary energy providers on the Planet."

While Manticore Engineering has confirmed two of its three drivers, it has not confirmed the identity of its third driver. While widely suspected to be French Canadian Clair Auxier, the team reportedly still has Louis Bellard still under its employ. Auxier has not been available for comment, and has not been seen at all, making Bellard a suspect for the third car.

Bellard is likely to assume the role of reserve driver for Manticore Engineering, which means practicing his skills on allowing his teammates to win in the award winning Rubens Barrichello Simulator.

Leckliter to take a truck slot

The one time PCC Cup winner has now moved down to the truck series for 2016.
