Not really a rumor, but I just google mapped the Boston Street Circuit and all I can say is... RAILROAD TRACKS!

I think they're no longer in use, so it's entirely likely they could rip them out of the ground before the race. Hope they don't, though, it'll give the track some more character. It's also got a section that's almost Monaco levels of narrow, and there's talk of a two-sided pit lane. I'm super pumped for this track!

In-season modifications to the aero-kits will happen in 2016 as apposed to the outright ban in 2015.

I'm not knowledgeable as to how tracks would affect a cornering car. San Jose is the only circuit that I've ever seen with a railroad crossing.Sparkz47 wrote:f1fan12 wrote:Not really a rumor, but I just google mapped the Boston Street Circuit and all I can say is... RAILROAD TRACKS!

Also, if this has been mentioned then I've somehow failed to notice, but I wasn't aware that the Boston Seaport circuit will feature a tunnel!

Baltimore had it too. They even ended up putting a chicane nearby the one year just so the cars wouldn't fly over them at high speed

A tunnel, huh? Very Monaco-esque.

Not a rumor of any actual developments, but Scott Dixon made some interesting comments ragarding the IndyCar aerokits and Honda being given more time to develop their kits than Chevrolet over the offseason.

Considering the surroundings, probably more like the 80's Detroit Street CircuitPackerMan71 wrote:SpeedDemon37 wrote:I'm not knowledgeable as to how tracks would affect a cornering car. Tunnels, narrowness, and possible railroad tracks? Boston Streets looks like an epic track, maybe Long Beach tier in terms of street circuits

Sorry to disappoint you, but there are no railroad tracks. That thing marked "Silver Line Way" you're seeing on the maps is a bus route.

Re: 2016 IndyCar Series Rumors thread
I just checked the Google maps street view. There are some railroad tracks, but they look like they have been abandoned for quite some time now. It is to the point where they don't even have Railroad crossings on them anymore. I bet they would just pave over them. It looks as if that area of road would need to be widened anyway. The track goes over the railroad line right before entering the tunnel.

So at the current moment we have 21 full-time cars, and the entry list for the 500 at the moment is at 30 cars (expect more for Indy).
Situation looks pretty good.

Chilton May Be A Bit Better Than He Was in F1 (He Wasn't That Good in F1 Mainly Because he had a slow car) But He Should Adapt To Indy Pretty Well On The Road Courses On The Ovals I Don't Really He Was Slightly Mediocre at the Big ovals in indy lights he won at Iowa though So He Could Be Better at the Short Tracks

The car count doesn't surprises me, I just hope they just have a solid group of drivers, and not multiple driver changes like they had last year, some happening mid-weekend.

I've heard Indy Lights might have around 15 come season start which considering past seasons is actually an improvement.

Indy Lights/ARS has always had about 11-15 cars. This isn't anything new. Hell even Formula Atlantic struggled in that regard at times...

2011 was an exception year, Indy Lights/Infiniti Pro/ARS, hardly had more than 16 cars, and when it had more than 16 cars it wasn't even for the full season.

Bryan Herta has allied with Andretti Autosport, the big surprise out of this is Gabby Chaves is not returning to the team. Rumored that JR Hildebrand will take over that car.
