Yes but Charlotte was smart and curved that pit wall opening so that cars wouldn't be speared.

Edwards makes it on fuel! NASCAR letting a fuel mileage race end!

#2 race of the day!

I thought for sure NASCAR was gonna throw a caution at the end there.  That was actually a somewhat decent race.  GW Edwards.

Maybe it's just tiredness from the rest of the triple but i found that race pretty lackluster, ending was fun though.

My thoughts on the Coca-Cola 600:

Hm. Not bad... for once.

There were some boring stretches of the race, as should be expected, but this time around, there were quite a few exciting moments as well, including the beginning when Kenseth and Edwards were fighting side-by-side for several laps. That was pretty cool.

Then there was the four wide move by Jr. on Hamlin, Busch and Harvick. Of course, it ultimately didn't pay off, but that was cool to watch as well.

But I feel gutted for Truex. He leads a lot of laps, but once again, doesn't win. Only this time, several drivers managed to finish the final 60 laps on a tank of fuel. He'll get one of these races though, and it may be next week at Dover, which is one of his home tracks.

Speaking of the fuel mileage strategery, I'll be honest. I was hoping for Edwards and Biffle to run out of fuel so Jr. could get the win, but give them credit where it's due, especially Edwards, who gets his his first win with Gibbs as well as his first 600 victory, and breaks a long winless drought.

Oh, and no Jimmiewinslol this time after he crashed early on.

Overall, this was probably the most interesting 600 I've seen in quite some time, and it's a refreshing change considering how terrible this race has been for about the last six or seven years. Hopefully, this is a trend that will continue next year... but I'm not holding my breath. But I'm pleasantly surprised at how this race turned out, especially with how terrible the quad-oval mile-and-a-half races have been this year.

My rating for the 2015 Coca-Cola 600:

Just like an ice cold Coca-Cola, it's refreshing to give this race a positive score. It landed somewhere in the middle this time around, with some boring spots mixed with exciting points and a fuel mileage race at the end. Since this race turned out better than expected, I'll give this race a 5.25/10, it's first passing grade since I started giving out scores, and a massive improvement over the previous couple of seasons. It certainly doesn't hold a candle to Indy, but still a pretty decent race, and a nice way to end the Memorial Day weekend.

Next race is at Dover, which has also been traditionally terrible, but tonight's race has given me some hope for Dover this time around...

Apparently Denny Hamlin checked into the Infield care center after suffering migraines the last hundred or so miles and having an issue with exhaust fumes.

Not bad of a race weekend.  Monaco was Monaco until Vestrappen showed the set that he had on him... then promptly crashed said set into the barriers... then the controversy that ensued at Mercedes.  Indy turned out NOT to be a death trap thankfully, and JPM got the win, and NASCAR actually produced a 1.5 mile cookie cutter race that didn't put people half to sleep... all in all, a race weekend I'll gladly take.

I missed the 600, but I heard it was good.

Indy was well worth staying up for once again, went a hell of a lot better then I expected it to be.

Monaco wasn't anything special.

Now time to build up the hype for next year.

It was a good Coke 600 last night finally. Great day to be a racing fan for sure. Congrats to Edwards on winning in fumes. Truex will get a win before the years out. I know along with everyone else knows. I'll give this a 6.0/10.
