NR2003 Track Wishlist
I know f1fan12 did a thread like this already back in 2013, but the last time anyone posted in that thread was last July, and I figure there's no use bumping a nine-month-old thread. Besides, it's 2015, why not give this another go?
Some tracks I'd like to see made for NR:
Monza - I've been begging and pleading for an update to Monza for the longest time. GPL converted tracks in NR usually look ugly in my opinion, and it really doesn't do Monza as we know it today much justice. People have said that they're working on this track, but I haven't seen any evidence. I love the high speeds of that circuit whenever I play it in the Codemasters' F1 games, and I'd like it to be done for NR to see how well those speeds translate for a stock car.
Speedway Blvd. - With the Old Spice track from the EA Sports NASCAR games having been done for NR by Action Packed Tracks and due for a release sometime next week, I've been remembering some of the other fantasy tracks in that game, most notably this one and one other. Speedway Blvd. seems doable for NR, it being based on the streets around Daytona, but I don't doubt there may need to be some additional .3DOs made to make it complete.
Devil's Canyon - Another fantasy track from the EA Sports NASCAR games. Back in 2009 when I was a n00b on NNRacing who didn't know better, I repeatedly made topics within days of each other asking for this track to be made, and after the third time, I was pretty much blasted for doing that. My desire for this track to be made has not faded, however. It seems improbable though, otherwise someone would need to have a lot of time on their hands and the patience to make .3DOs for all the rock formations on that track...
Occoneechee - A mile long dirt oval, and one of the original tracks on the NASCAR Strictly Stock Division schedule in 1949. It survived until its closure in 1968 and now serves as a walking trail. I just think it'd be interesting to see this track done, for one that survived as long as it did.
Saugus Speedway - A short track that was on the NASCAR SuperTruck schedule in 1995, which has never been made for NR to my knowledge.
Meadowlands CART Track - Either one of the courses CART used. I'm not certain on the details of the Port Imperial street course being included on the F1 schedule in 2016, but right now this has been the closest any major racing series anyone got to a race in New York. I live 20 minutes from where this track used to be, so you can understand why I'd like to see this done.
A Board Racing Track - Like the tracks in the 1920's made from wooden planks and made for auto racing. It would also be neat to see done.
That's it. Anyway, your track wishlists. GO!

Re: NR2003 Track Wishlist
Imola - I LOVE the track to death!
Monaco - I know there are a few in existence, BUT THE TRACK IN GENERAL IS ATROCIOUS! The lp is messed up and not to mention the pit lanes in the NR2003 Designs on Facebook as the cars turn left for no reason at all. I just wish that there is an ai-raceable Monaco for NR. -_-
Red Bull Ring - Although there is the GPL version, I want the 2014 version of the track! I have seen some races on Television there and some are quite fantastic! If anyone would take the idea of making that track, I will bow to him/her/them/WHOEVER.
Zolder - That track is an ABSOLUTE MUST MAKE..... Ever since F1 raced there, the racing was decent, and I would imagine one being made for NR, too bad only Spa is the only track that is in Belgium, but hey, better than nothing, right?
Interlagos - We obviously need more South American tracks, most importantly, Interlagos. Worldwide courses obviously need to be part of the NR2003 community. Yes, the 3do's will be a pain in the ***, but for the most part, the track in general would be a great addition for NR.

High Speed Ring from Gran Turismo
Seattle Street Circuit from Gran Turismo
NYC Street Circuit from Gran Turismo
Branierd International Raceway
Scania Test Track - Because why not
So, kinda a long list, but, meh a lot of variety

Sparrow Hills in Moscow would be a nice addition: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5_oyZuwVqok
Miseluk in Serbia would also be a nice track, already made for rFactor : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sY69ZZf12g4
Imola and Monza would be perfect, I've started work on Monza a while back but so far little is completed on it.

Someone from Solstice was working on that, and I helped test it in its alpha stage. I don't have the details on its progress though.

Re: NR2003 Track Wishlist
- Norway Speedway - I'm sure that I've mentioned this one before; an awesome, 1/3-mile, low-banked, symmetrical asphalt oval in Michigan's Upper Peninsula that is surrounded by a horse racing track.
- Owosso Speedway - A 3/8-mile, moderately-banked, symmetrical asphalt oval in Owosso, Michigan.
- Dodge Raceway Stadium - Fictitious, 3/8-mile, low-banked oval built around a football field within a grand stadium from the EA Sports games.
- Autódromo Chiapas - A 3/4-mile, moderately-banked D-oval in Mexico, used by the NASCAR Toyota Series.
- Lakewood Speedway - Built in 1916 and closed in 1979, it was a 1-mile dirt oval that surrounded a lake.
- The half-mile testing track known as the Little Rock, located directly behind the backstretch of the Rockingham Speedway in North Carolina.
- Waterford Hills Road Raceway - While it is a 15 minute drive from my house, I honestly think that it is a very interesting road course. It's a narrow, 1.42-mile club racing circuit paved with asphalt and concrete. It has a large variety of corners, straightaways, speeds, and elevation changes.
- The clockwise road-course layout of Mallory Park in England.
- The original infield/outfield layout of the Michigan International Speedway. It hasn't been used for racing since 1969, but I think that a fictitious modern version (built as if it is currently in use with modern accommodations) would be awesome.
- The full layout of the EuroSpeedway Lausitz, which was designed for endurance racing, but so far has been used only for testing. It includes multiple infield sections, and an outfield section with a gargantuan paperclip-shaped oval with high banks and three chicanes. I personally think that it would be a fantastic (albeit dangerous) circuit to host an endurance race, or any race for that matter!

Dodge Raceway Stadium exists for NR under a different name, Solstice Raceway Stadium. Though the track has been increased in length to make it a .75 mile oval, it's a completed track, but it's kind of lazily made. It does have some AI issues, and pit road is kind of broken as well. Nevertheless, you can download it here.
I wasn't aware that Lakewood Speedway existed for NR either until I found it at the NR2003 Weebly. I don't know what the deal is with the AI here, but judging off of YouTube videos I found of NR races at this track, it seems to work alright. It was made by Rovan75 and you can find it here.

Re: NR2003 Track Wishlist
I'd like to see a couple of big, but short lived NASCAR tracks from the 50s get made.
Raleigh Speedway - This was NASCAR's second big speedway, a 1 mile fairly low banked paved oval in Raleigh, North Carolina opened a couple of years after Darlington. Think New Hampshire but with smaller turns and longer straights. The track did not last too long as a Grand National track and lost its July 4 race date to Daytona in 1959, and I think it ended up shutting some time after that.
Memphis-Arkansas (LeHi) Speedway - How this track hasn't been made already for NR2003 is beyond me. This was a 1 1/2 mile, moderate to high banked, dirt oval. Think the original Atlanta, but dirt and with lower banking. It was definitely one of the craziest tracks ever raced by NASCAR, and also one of the more dangerous. Two drivers lost their lives in a single weekend in 1956, and several more were injured in its very short life as a circuit. It only lasted from 1955-1957 or something like that before it shut down because the people in charge decided that it was too difficult to maintain. This is a video of it here (warning: includes a fatal accident at 0:33):

I do wish that there was a slightly closer replica of DRS (being 3/8 miles and having a straight frontstretch), but it is pretty close. I see what you mean, Kensethfan, by it being kind of lazily made; when I ran races there the cars weren't even registering laps and the lap count always read "0"!

As far as I know, the Deutschlandring has never been made for any game. It was a grand circuit built by the Nazis for the 1940 German Grand Prix, which was canceled because, you know, reasons.
Massive elevation changes, insanely quick corners and a hillclimb section. Looks absolutely fantastic.

To be fair, I think that association might be the reason it's never been made for any racing game. :/
Looking at the track layout though, it's certainly a cool idea.

Re: NR2003 Track Wishlist
In hindsight, I can't believe I had forgotten this in my original post:
Complex String from Gran Turismo 3. The mother of all technical courses. Granted I've never played GT3, I've seen plenty of this track, and I think it'd be interesting to see how well this track translates to an NR2003 version, especially since it's been done before for Grand Prix Legends and rFactor. Hell, someone from NNR had made Clubman Stage 5 from the original Gran Turismo for NR.

Granted I've never played GT3, I've seen plenty of this track, and I think it'd be interesting to see how well this track translates to an NR2003 version, especially since it's been done before for Grand Prix Legends and rFactor. The Complex String didn't come out too nicely for GPL, being quite a large track there aren't any TSOs to reduce load times but compared to tracks like Targa Florio (which is 8 times longer) it comes across looking quite dull and derelict. Not too sure how NR2003 would handle a track of that size, considering the Nurby doesn't really work at all.

NR should be able to handle it fine, no question about it. The Isle of Man TT course, albeit an abridged version of the real course, is still fifteen miles long; more than twice the length of Complex String, and for as much detail as that track has, NR can manage it without a sweat.
There are a fair number of other tracks made for NR which are longer than Complex String, and have exquisite detail, and they work just fine. The Nurburgring in NR was just a conversion of the GPL track, so it's not saying much to use that as a counterexample, I'm afraid.

Re: NR2003 Track Wishlist
(Apologies for the bump, but I forgot to post this idea.)
Whattahoo Raceway
A fictitious racetrack from the game FlatOut 2. It appears to be an asphalt speedway located in California, and judging by lap times versus lap speeds, my personal estimates make the track approximately 1.125 to 1.25 miles in length.
It is a tri-oval that is similar in shape to Kansas and Chicagoland, but the entire frontstretch is banked fairly high, only slightly less than the turns (which appear to be around 22-28 degrees). Also, each "shute" straightaway on the frontstretch has a slight curve to it. The backstretch is nearly flat.
There are several large structures located throughout the infield (the garages are located between the pit lane and the tri-oval racing surface), and vast multi-purpose tarmac areas, as well. There are plenty of grand grandstands surrounding the speedway, as well.
The oval layout of the speedway is shown at approximately 1:40 in the video below.

Oh my god, YES! I loved this game, use to enjoy playing the FlatOutJoint mod, getting the old NASCAR Cup Cars and driving them around here. I might need to reinstall it all again...SpeedDemon37 wrote:(Apologies for the bump, but I forgot to post this idea.)

Re: NR2003 Track Wishlist
Granted that I've had the game much longer than NR2003, I've spent more time playing FlatOut 2 than any other game that I've owned! It's one of my absolute favorites! I've never modded it before, though, now there's an idea...Ben Atkins wrote:Oh my god, YES! I loved that fictional track in Andretti racing. One of the two tracks in that game I could beat my dad at.

Do you mean that the post-2010 layout of Venray exists?bsoyuz wrote:BooyakaDragon wrote:Raceway Venray.

- Spoiler:
The only version of that track that I have ever found is the rather inaccurate version of the track before its 2010-2011 overhaul.

I know there is the innacurate one and the inner oval, that is effing narrow, mostly because I had both in my hard drive, the problem is, I don't know where the inner oval can be found anymore (maybe HiGrip Wreckers, but not 100% sure), I lost that a long time ago.
