Bira International Circuit [Beta Released]
As Franciacorta is very nearly done in terms of geometry and texturing, I've begun to work on Thailand's only FIA certified circuit. Located in Pattaya approximately 120km from the countries' capital in Bangkok, the Bira International Circuit has hosted some of Asia's largest championships including the Touring Car Asia Series, Formula Asia 2000, Formula BMW Pacific and the Asian/Philippines Formula 3 championship. At 2.4km and 11 corners, the circuit is very fast and short yet maintains a very interesting layout including a very steep drop into the second of two chicanes.
Following the completion of this circuit I will continue with the insanely beautiful Bangsaen street circuit.

So this is complete to a working point at the moment, I will need to work on some of the LP's a little more but the track is very usable and the AI only make major errors lining up for green flags. So while I clean up the finer bits and the LPs, here is a beta to test for bugs I may not have yet noticed:

It's looking good so far, some issues I have with the track are the camera angles in general. Other than that, the track looks nice!

Re: Bira International Circuit [Beta Released]
Some of the elevation changes look a little sudden, might need to smooth those out a bit, because in places the track does look like it might be a rough ride, particularly in the first chicane.
Textures don't look bad, but I assume you're going to add painted lines on both sides of the track?
Pretty good work so far though.

Thank you
Yes, I've been continuously trying to smoothen out the elevation-prior to this version it was so steep that you took the first chicane in air most of the way. For the sides of the circuit, the actual circuit doesn't have painted lines so I'm planning to add a grass-to-asphalt transitional texture.

Re: Bira International Circuit [Beta Released]
Redownloaded this track just now and had a look at it. It's technically usable so I'm moving this into the Track Downloads forum. If there's no further work planned for this track, I might take up fixing some of the minor gripes I have with it.

I'd be hugely grateful if you did, I've been meaning to finish this off for a while but I lost a lot of files after a HD failure so moved to a Mac, is there a Mac compatible version of Sandbox around?

Re: Bira International Circuit [Beta Released]
It's been a while since I started on this but I've finally got Bira to a level that I'm happy with. The AI work pretty well round here and the track was modelled as best as I could to replicate the real thing. There's a few more things left doing on this, mostly replacing TSO textures and renovating the kerbs with heights, but this is pretty much finalised as of now. I should probably thank John Norton and Wayne Anderson, who did the majority of the TSOs - I knicked them from Batangas and Clark International which I was pleasantly surprised were also made!

Re: Bira International Circuit [Beta Released]
You're welcome, its good to see a few familiar names still
RE: TSOs, I'll compile a credit list at some point - if said model makers would rather I don't 'borrow' their work, I'll happily remove them from the track and source an alternative.
