Ben Atkins scores a scrappy 18th, takes the points lead
After big contact with Duncan Cobb early in the race, Ben Atkins recovered to finish in 18th after missing the big one, despite his major damage placing him three laps down. With this, Atkins goes into the points lead after Klara Kindahl crashed in an incident that brought out the first caution.
"I'm pretty happy right now." said Atkins "I died momentarily in the contact, but I bitchslapped myself hard enough in the face to wake me up. So now I know that I can slap and die in good time, just in case I don't need to crash and die harder!"
After taking the points lead, Ben Atkins said that the fact he doesn't have the points lead is "bullshit" and that points leader Ben Atkins is "a faggot" and when told that he was in fact the points leader, he said "Doesn't matter. That's my gimmick. Points leader is still a fucking faggot."

Wascher disappointed in qualifying run
Wascher had a very short day at the New York Autoring, when he was too slow to start a race
