People talk about how some of the Nationwide drivers were rushed into a Cup ride: Aside from a pretty prominent K&N Pro Series career, this guy doesn't even have more than two Truck Series starts and one Nationwide start. Saying that this was a "little bit of a jump" might be an understatement. I mean, Kyle Larson was pretty rushed into the #42 seat, but at least he was decently successful in Trucks and Nationwide before he went anywhere else.
The only other thing I know about this guy is that Brian Moffitt, who I can only assume is related to Brett, is the Chief Executive Officer at Richard Petty Motorsports right now, so there's that...

Apparently he's a test driver for TRD and MWR.
He was pretty good in K&N, so he'll be slow, but not completely hopeless.

He's driving the 66...is that really going to do anything to anyone? Kevin Conway is still likely slower then this guy.

It's going to be his first race in a cup car, I doubt he'll be doing any other races aside from K&N Companion events, and even then, it doesn't hurt to at least get a feel for a a cup car.kensethfan wrote:NeverNeutral wrote:37 66 Brett Moffitt Toyota Land Castle Title Jay Robinson 39 12

Not to mention, Jay Robinson was probably desperate for a driver.

Front Row Joe will get that pole one day!...or end up at Front Row Motorsports somehow.navycook75 wrote:It's going to be his first race in a cup car, I doubt he'll be doing any other races aside from K&N Companion events, and even then, it doesn't hurt to at least get a feel for a a cup car.kensethfan wrote:NeverNeutral wrote:37 66 Brett Moffitt Toyota Land Castle Title Jay Robinson 39 12

Brett Moffitt starts on the ninth row. Huh, Interesting.
Also, Keselowski is on pole.

Re: 2014 FedEx 400 Benefiting Autism Speaks- NASCAR Sprint Cup Series
Brett Moffitt is properly good. He nearly beat Dylan Kwasnieswki in 2013 even though he had much less funding than Kwaz. It's a bit early for him but he has talent.
Re: 2014 FedEx 400 Benefiting Autism Speaks- NASCAR Sprint Cup Series
Maybe I underestimated him. Halfway up the field is good enough for a Michael Waltrip/Jay Robinson car.

And this is the same driver in the #15 who thought he could win Richmond on turn 1 lap 1 right?
Don't blaime Kyle for getting mad, Bowyer's spotter screwed that up massively.

The wreck was the fault of Bowyers spotter. No doubt there, Kyle has a right to be upset. But Kyles response to the incident to chase Bowyer down the front stretch I found childish.Mother of Invention wrote:And this is the same driver in the #15 who thought he could win Richmond on turn 1 lap 1 right?

I must be in a minority then. I'd rather see a driver show his displeasure with another driver under yellow, granted I don't want him to pull a Gordon/Bowyer and take out others, but yeah let them vocalize there displeasure on the track.

Can't we just use Dale Jr.'s suggestion from a few year ago? Put a cone down there and avoid that part of the track.

The only thing coming apart more than the track was Fox ratings.

Re: 2014 FedEx 400 Benefiting Autism Speaks- NASCAR Sprint Cup Series
Typical run-of-the-mill Dover race, as expected, with some Jimmiewinslol thrown in for good measure. Other than the track coming apart and some fail driving, this race was pretty much a sleeper. At least it was a little better than the 600.
The 2014 FedEx 400 @ Dover gets a 2.5/10.

Despite getting wrecked by Stenhouse Jr. and Allmendinger, Greg Biffle still continues his consecutive finishing streak, now up to 85 races. Last DNF was 2011 Homestead.

Yeah, I only managed to tune in for the last half. From what I could tell, it was a pretty sub-par race.
To be brutally honest, though, I don't think that Jimmie is going to win a seventh title under this points format, though. That's not to say I don't like him, I'm cool with him. I just think that the sandbagging the #48 team is usually subject to is going to ruin him in the end.
