2014 Toyota Owners 400- NASCAR Sprint Cup Series
The Sprint Cup Series returns after a week off for short track racing at Richmond.
After being a major source of drama over the past week, Swan Racing is still currently listed as entered for this race. However, Cole Whitt's managers stated that as of Monday morning, he does not have a ride for the race, so one or both Swan cars may not show up.
On the other hand, despite their insistence that they would race this weekend, XXXtreme Motorsports is not on the entry list... perhaps RyanB was right about them being the Duke Nukem Forever of NASCAR.

Aww. we're not goin' XXXXXXXXXXXXXTREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEME this weekend.
If they really join a race wil be the last ones, because is taking forever, for me, is more easy the team to close, than actually join a race at this point.

Easy, people weren't looking for qualifying trim, just race trim.

I'm not hating on him by all means, one of the cars I race with online is a Labonte JTG car and I've been a fan of him since 1998. I just accepted the fact he hasn't been as good as he once was.Sparkz47 wrote:navycook75 wrote:ALLMENDINGER 6TH!!! I guess the problem with that team was the driver. Bobby was doing 20th AT BEST with that car, Allmendinger is getting the car into the top 15 even top 10 on a decent basis.Sparkz47 wrote:navycook75 wrote:ALLMENDINGER 6TH!!! I guess the problem with that team was the driver. (I say that and I'm a fan of Labonte)
Alright race. Only really picked up at the end and an absolute awesome finish to end it off.
Ambrose with the STRAYA MATE on Casey Mears. That was some crazy stuff.

Nice finish although Kes's impatience cost him the race and handed it to Logano. Cool burnout though!

The only argument I could give for that is their new alliance with RCR has really helped them out performance-wise. I'm not trying to take away from Allmendinger, but Labonte wasn't terrible in the car in comparison.

I love short track racing
Nice for Logano, great finish after a good race.

^ This and the fact that Labonte was fully capable of top-10s in the car from time to time just as Allmendinger has done. Of course I'm not trying to discredit the Dinger, 6th place in a JTG car is fantastic. However, comparatively speaking, his average finish in the car is still in the same neighborhood as Labonte's (though, admittedly, probably higher).

Alright race. Only really picked up at the end and an absolute awesome finish to end it off.
Ambrose with the STRAYA MATE on Casey Mears. That was some crazy stuff.
The only argument I could give for that is their new alliance with RCR has really helped them out performance-wise. I'm not trying to take away from Allmendinger, but Labonte wasn't terrible in the car in comparison.
Last year, Bobby Labonte averaged a 29.4 in Average Finish (though he did race one race with Finch, which was a last place finish at Michigan), finished in 21 of the 27 races he competed in for JTG, finished on the lead lap in 7 of them, and had no Top 10's
This year, AJ has averaged a 17.6 Average finish, finished every single race so far, finished on the lead lap 5 times, and already has 2 Top 10's

Allmendinger's average finish is in his first 9 races and that's not counting races he was in the top 15 and had something go wrong.Sparkz47 wrote:Casey Lester wrote:Alta wrote:Bobby was doing 20th AT BEST with that car, Allmendinger is getting the car into the top 15 even top 10 on a decent basis.Sparkz47 wrote:navycook75 wrote:ALLMENDINGER 6TH!!! I'm sorry Labonte's washed up and i'm glad he realized it was time to hang it up. Hearing he might be an NBC commentator for Nationwide next year so we can look forward to that.

He'd do that to nice guy Mears but not fuckface Murphy.
2nd year in a row both Toyota-sponsored races aren't won by Toyota.

He would have been in a lot of trouble if he punched Murph, especially after the balaclava fiasco

That punch 10/10 would watch again.
Seriously, Ambrose has a career in boxing if he ever stops racing cars.

Ambrose never gives no damn, he isn't the kind of guy you want to get into a fight with, because he will return the favour pretty heavily.

I was going to suggest MMA, but Marcos does seem more like a boxer now that I think of it.

Directly comparing someone's average finish out of twenty-eight races to someone else's out of nine races isn't at all fair. Also, Labonte's last full-season record (36 races) was 22.6. Respectable, I'd say, for such a middle-of-the road team.

Re: 2014 Toyota Owners 400- NASCAR Sprint Cup Series
My (factual) opinion on this is Ambrose > Both of them. In terms of Labonte vs. Allmendinger, I've only looked at Labonte's first 18 races in the #47 (The same amount AJ has done), and apart from a top 5 from Labonte (AJ's best finish is 6th), I'm going to have to say Allmendinger.Sparkz47 wrote:PYLrulz wrote:Sparkz47 wrote:Casey Lester wrote:Alta wrote:Bobby was doing 20th AT BEST with that car, Allmendinger is getting the car into the top 15 even top 10 on a decent basis.Sparkz47 wrote:navycook75 wrote:ALLMENDINGER 6TH!!! Of course the person trying to defend themselves gets the harsher punishment. It's stupid how people can wreck each other on track, but can't settle anything off track
