Jack Dempsey confirmed for Land Down Under Racing

After looking for a pay driver who could put down a lot of money into the team, Jack Dempsey was the right one. Dempsey brought the most money that Land Down Under Racing wanted and both sides accepted via phone.

Bobby Dollar Motorsports have announced his intention to compete in the TM Lights series (pending approval). Bobby Dollar Motorsports, a team owned by 4 time GT champion Bobby Dollar, said in a statement today that he would like TM Lights officials to consider them for a spot in 2012.

The owner of the new team, Adrian Morris has said that the team will have 20 year-old Phoenix Native Jamie Davison as their driver for the No.29 Inglesby Flashback, with Delano to become the primary sponsor for the car.

Okay, I drew up a mock team chart for TM Lights. I admittedly assigned numbers kind of randomly (some exceptions, like MT Motorsports getting 14 and 24, Altamont getting 5 and 6, Down Under getting 9) and I have two drivers not belonging to me listed as confirmed to cars I own (Amy Harrison and Nathan Ferguson staying where they are), but I'll remove them if the creators don't approve of that.

Some teams that requested two cars got one. Unit 11 Motorsports is the only team with three cars, but I'm not sure Conrail's bringing that team back.

There are currently 22 cars. I may have missed a few people when I went through the thread.

Don't consider it final yet.

Buffy Boreanz has/had the #24. I kept waiting for a "need paints/ratings by a certain date" type of post to firm up PSI's plans but I didn't ever see one and figured this series was on the back burner. I never saw a separate team chart thread and assumed my teams #s would stay the same unless I stated otherwise.

Also, I held off posting it because I wasn't sure of the format that was going to be used this season either. I figured things would be firmed up before the team chart would be solidified.

EDIT: Oops! BB had #024, but Pierre Eiffel had #08.

Team Thunder to continue into 2012?

Team Thunder recently released information about their TM Lights campaign for 2012. The team will scale back to one car, the #07 PCC car, to be driven by Jim Hayes. No other information was released.

S-Tech Autosport Confirms 2012 TM Lights Plans

As such Aoi confirmed that the team would scale down to 1 car throughout the season, all that is confirmed is that the team is planning to use #3 sponsored by Yamaha electronics, however the driver still has yet to be announced.

I would prefer no more than 30 cars, so I'll cut some out to get other people in if necessary...

- I forgot the EV Racing and Gutierrez cars, added them but didn't list a driver. Meaning, I'll probably just stick someone else's driver in there unless I don't get one.

- The Racing for the Community team is back with Mike Andrews in the #51 car. Great Lakes as of now has 08 and 18.

- PSI gets #1 since I know they're actually coming back now. I'm opting to give PSI a second car because they did win the driver's championship. I have the second car as #24 (and gave them the second MT entry, since I forgot crl has a full time TMMC driver, lolwhoops).

- Andrea Kinasa and the #426 car are back.

Driver Harriet Wallace is hoping that a deal with front-running Dash Cup team for TM Lights will become a possibility. They hope to sign Wallace to give her experience towards her 2013 Dash Cup campaign, and they say running in a high prestige series such as TM Lights would be perfect.

That's cool. Like I said I was waiting for more info as to how many cars we got/divisions/mod choice/yada yada and how things were going to shape up this season before I could give a more knowledgeable response.

I'll keep the Vampire squad together then:

#1 - Thurston Blood - Vampire Batteries
#24 - Buffy Boreanaz - Vampire Steaks

That means Jim Kidd, Pierre Eiffel, Billy Bob Childers, and Pete Maverick will have to find another series to compete in. Doug Baker has decided to re-retire!

Webler Motorsports looking to bring team over to TM Lights

Webler Motorsports owner, Eric Webler, would like to bring his team over to the TM Lights series. Webler Motorsports is a championship winning team in other series and they would like to start contending for championships in the TM Series. "I want to do this the right way," said Eric Webler. "I want to learn this series before I jump straight to cup even with my racing experience. This is a whole different ballpark and running the in TM Lights would be great for me and my team." Eric Webler said he would drive the car. The team says they have a sponsor but nothing is confirmed yet.

Colorado based Creature Motorsports, has said they are interested in running a TM Lights Team, Spokeperson and Driver Jordan Brown stated that "we finally have the funds to compete in a series with national and international scheduling. We have several sponsors lined up and look forward tor acing these fine cars."

Matthews Motorsports reconsiders Lights run:
Matthews Motorsports, which earlier this off-season scrapped its proposed TM Lights effort, reversed course and has requested a slot on the 2012 grid.

If confirmed, the team would place ARLA driver Tiffany Matthews in its car. The team has also requested the use of No. 16, which Matthews ran in her stint as a late-model driver. Sponsorship is unknown at this time, though it's believed one of the team's ARLA sponsors (either I.W. Eagle or Red-Hot Race Wear) could be involved. There has also been speculation that a third sponsor, the team's yet-to-be-announced VSCC sponsor, could get the nod. Rumor has it that A&W might be that third sponsor, though Matthews Motorsports officials have been tight-lipped on that up to this point.

(OOC: If I decide it is A&W, expect a car similar to the NCATS version.)

Big Mac Racing Considers Lights Run

Thomas Mas has announced that Big Mac Racing is strongly considering running a car in the TM Lights. The team recently got their Independent's Trophy confirmed for the TMMC. If the team got a Lights entry accepted, they would be interested in running current VSCC drive Sara Gallagher in a car in the division. The team has acquired possible sponsorship, so that is not an issue. Everything is awaiting approval however.

Team Owner Anthony Evans revealed Bad Boy MMA Apparel as the sponsor of the #10 entry into the 2012 TM Lights Series. Additionally, Dermid Scott was named as the new driver following the release of both Paul McCrum and Garrick Kolby after a lackluster 2011 season for each driver. Dermid is the younger brother of ARLA Elite Series driver Raibeart Scott.

"Raibeart and Dermid are both very competitive individuals so they are looking for bragging rights to see who captures a championship first. I can definitely see both of these guys competing in the Master Cup in the near future", said Evans at today's unveiling.

After a mediocre season, Jessica Orvel and Joe Branch are looking to run another season in the TM lights. No sponsorship has been announced for this season. AMD sponsored the team last year but just for a one year deal.

Branch/Orvel Racing has announced that they do plan to run the same numbers.

Funds Fall Through for Mauricio Goncalves

Colombian businessman Mauricio Goncalves late last year stated that he planned to run a TM Lights operation come 2012. However, sponsorship and funding did not go according to plan, and Goncalves has stated that his team will not compete in the 2012 TM Lights season. There is no word if Goncalves will compete next year or not.

Thats just fine with me. Looked through and didn't see anyone with a 24 so I assumed it was available to use. #77 will be just fine if Cy is ok with that, I'll get on changing the number (possibly the paint scheme as well) and sending the car and ratings.
