2013 Ford EcoBoost 300 - Nationwide Series
Austin Dillon and Sam Hornish Jr. are the only two drivers that are going for the Nationwide driver's championship at Homestead this Saturday. Dillon has a firm lead over Hornish heading into the finale. The Owner's Championship is also on the line with the #22 and #54 teams going at it. What will happen Saturday?

Re: 2013 Ford EcoBoost 300 - Nationwide Series
The season started with cuppiewinslol, and it shall end with cuppiewinslol. More importantly, my prophecy of a winless Nationwide Series champion shall come true, as Hornish will not be able to cut into the deficit enough to take it away.
This series is a joke, NASCAR. Therefore, you are a joke. Might want to do something about it?

Of course the only people that will be excited about a Cup driver winning a Nationwide Race and the Owner's Championship Battle are ESPN.

A ton of people would love to see my prophecy blow up in my face, but I simply do not see it happening. If Austin Dillon can get into the top 10 early, or start in the top 10, I don't see him making a mistake that sends him back far enough to where the title is in any real danger.Alta wrote:>yfw Hornish wins the title.Magus978 wrote:The season started with cuppiewinslol, and it shall end with cuppiewinslol. If Hornish can get those bonus points then something might happen. Also Hornish has beat cup drivers on speed before so....Mite b cool.Magus978 wrote:A ton of people would love to see my prophecy blow up in my face, but I simply do not see it happening. No doubt. It'll be interesting, that's for sure. Even with the inevitable cuppie rofflestomp (it's happened way too many times for me not to think it won't happen), with a championship on the line, all the focus must be turned to that.Alta wrote:If Hornish can get those bonus points then something might happen. Re: 2013 Ford EcoBoost 300 - Nationwide Series
This is unfortunately the only race worth watching for me this weekend (apart from the US GP, which even then I dread may be a yet another Red Bull race). Truck championship is over so its just a last shot for Brad to bolster his ego and there's no point in even having the cup race this weekend because of the inevitable (would love to be surprised at the last possible second though). At least for once, I have someone in the nationwide championship that's actually got a far better shot to win it and didn't throw it away at Phoenix.

Don't put it past Hornish. He knows how to win a championship and he could definitely pull it off.
Re: 2013 Ford EcoBoost 300 - Nationwide Series
I say Brad because he's still trying to win a Truck race at all. Besides, He's got a cup championship yet still feels the need to compete unlike Kyle, who I'm pretty convinced isn't getting one ever whether he quits or continues.Alta wrote:*KyleRACECAR wrote:). He's only in single digits and doesn't have nearly the deficit Kenseth has in Cup so he's by no means out of it.Alpineopossum wrote:Don't put it past Hornish. He knows how to win a championship and he could definitely pull it off.

Kyle actually has an outside shot at the owners title, which I am sure he'd rather win over a NNS owners title right now......

As for Brad, didn't realize he wasn't in the Truck this weekend. I assumed he would be so my bad.

So from what I've heard, RAB Racing had entered 2 cars for this race, but from I know they've released Alex Bowman from his ride for some BS Seadon as instead put Blake Koch as his replacement.

It's so incredible for Dillon. Winning the championship when your whole life every door has been opened for you and NASCAR does every thing they can to make sure you win. Congrats rich kid. Money can't by everything but it can buy a championship.

Well, I was right about several things.
cuppiewinslol, but MORE IMPORTANTLY...
The prophecy that I had set down at the very start of the season HAS COME TRUE! Austin Dillon is the 2013 NASCAR Nationwide Series champion with ZERO wins.
There's your punchline for the season, everyone!

No denying that they should have thrown the red. Especially if they knew that the cleanup would take THAT long. Yet another race that goes into the file of "Questionable Officiating".

NASCAR no doubt has some explaining to do about the last caution taking so long.

Brad won... but he went from 11 to 1st IN 2 LAPS!!!
Congrats to Austin Dillon!!
inb4 NASCAR screws the NNS with some gimmick... CHASE, cause Helton & France are all for CUPPIEWINSLOL
Re: 2013 Ford EcoBoost 300 - Nationwide Series
That was a great race. Congrats Austin on the championship. And with 0 wins: incredible. There's no excuse as to why NASCAR didn't throw the red flag while trying to clean up the track. And good job Sam.

Re: 2013 Ford EcoBoost 300 - Nationwide Series
That caution lasted longer than it should of, BUT Hornish had the chance to gain spots, & he let lots of people pass him, which was likely to happen.. Due to old tires.
Re: 2013 Ford EcoBoost 300 - Nationwide Series
And with this result, I'm done with Nationwide. There Is no way they could not have thrown out a red flag for that cleanup, that just smells of a setup. Depending on the result of tomarrow, I'll probably be done with Cup. If this crap happens with the trucks, I'm done completely with NASCAR. I already avoid the chase enough as it is but this is really beginning to make me seriously considering Avoiding NASCAR completely.
Re: 2013 Ford EcoBoost 300 - Nationwide Series
Good race and an awesome title fight for the win.
Hornish just got caught out by not pitting and that gave Dillon the well-needed advantage he was looking for. Dillon won it by a mistake from the #12 team
I'll agree with everyone else and say the length of that caution was absolutely dumb. No need to extend it 5 laps for the officials dicking around with Speedy dry...Race should've been stopped when Wallace's car was sideways in the pits.

Re: 2013 Ford EcoBoost 300 - Nationwide Series
Yes, because Austin Dillon hasn't done a single thing to get where he has gotten. It's not like he worked his butt off in Trucks to win a championship in that series in only his second season, and jumped into this series and worked his butt off to in this series in his second season. No, he's clearly done nothing except be Richard Childress's grandson to get where he is. Clearly he hasn't earned his spot in Cup next year.Alpineopossum wrote:It's so incredible for Dillon. Get real, Austin Dillon has worked hard for what he's earned. He raced as hard as he could in Trucks for two years, had to beat fierce competition in that series, and still pulled off the title victory in 2011 in his second year. Then he moved to Nationwide last year, and has a great season, but isn't quite able to bring it home. Then this year, and even though he never won, he finished outside of the top 20 only three times this season. Now I will admit, even if he hadn't been as good as he has been it's still a possibility that Childress would have bumped him up when he did. But to say that he won the championship because money bought it, and that every door has been opened for him, is ignorant.

There have been plenty of drivers who got in the sport that have had backing from family members, The Dillon brothers are a case of being just as good as their were hyped to be.
I know people wanted Hornish to win the title tonight not just cause he's a favorite of a lot of people, but on the fact we night not see him in a good car next season (Or i could be making excuses up for people) and the title could've been used as a bargaining chip. But Dillon just got the better him on this night in an extremely close points fight. If no team picks him up next year it will be straight up criminal, (The fact he's not back in cup yet is already criminal) Hornish has proved that he wants to be in this sport and that he has enough talent to be given a second chance. (If you didn't hear on the broadcast, He was approached for Dario's seat in Indycar and turned it down)

I'm not saying that Austin Dillon is not a good driver. He is an excellent one. All I'm saying is that Sam Hornish (for example) had to fight his way to the top while Dillon had a comparatively easy route.flyingturns89 wrote:Yes, because Austin Dillon hasn't done a single thing to get where he has gotten. All I'm saying is that Sam Hornish (for example) had to fight his way to the top while Dillon had a comparatively easy route.flyingturns89 wrote:Yes, because Austin Dillon hasn't done a single thing to get where he has gotten. Winning the championship when your whole life every door has been opened for you and NASCAR does every thing they can to make sure you win. Congrats rich kid. Money can't by everything but it can buy a championship.
