A new motorsport film, RUSH, is coming this September. Based on the fantastic 1976 season, it primarily focuses on the competitive relationship between Niki Lauda and James "S"Hunt. I am hoping it doesn't repeat the failure of Driven...

I'll be out of town from Thursday until Sunday with my Structural Geology class studying the folding mechanisms and layered beddings of the Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee, North Carolina, and Virginia.

tl;dr I'll be looking at rocks this weekend.

You have to also bear in mind that the Daily Mail is a Right Wing newspaper. Sure behavior like this is disrespectful, but it is a newspaper, and a lot of the time they blow things way out of proportion.

Well we had a massive ice storm last night that left my town out of power for most of the day (about 8-9 hours). Luckily we only had a few minor injuries. Unfortunately a lot of trees fells on cars and a tree in our yard fell over.

My town avoided an ice storm, but it was about 35 degrees with wind chill and light rain for our first track meet yesterday. I actually tripped while running a 200 meter relay and got scraped up a bit. It was quite embarrassing. Embarassed

I've been asleep ever since I got home from school, and the first thing I hear about when I wake up is a bombing at the Boston Marathon. I'm not really sure what to say other than my thoughts, prayers, and condolences go out to those involved.

I am just waiting to see if this is truly the work of "terrorists" or one lone psychopath. If it's the former, then it is the first "successful" terrorist attack in the US in 12 years

Even if it is just one person, it can still be classified as domestic terrorism.

I was watching the marathon during lunch just hours earlier. It's crazy how quickly things can turn for the worse.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all those in Boston. A few of my retired teachers and middle school principal were running in the race, and I really hope that they're all okay.

What makes it even more sad is a part of the course was dedicated to the victims of the Sandy Hook School Shooting.

I always assumed that "terrorism" meant the intent was to create a state of fear in the public and/or change their behavior through violence. In that case, all the shootings we've had the last few years aren't terrorism, because those were just someone going off the deep end. That is a possibility here. Maybe some bozos just decided to blow stuff up for the hell of it
