Mark Winterbottom will compete in the Brazil Stockcar Endurance at Interlagos between the Australian Grand Prix and Symmons Plains. He joins Dean Canto as the 2nd Australian in the race.

Scott McLaughlin putting Volvo ON HIS FUCKING BACK. Volvo's first hit-out was successful, with McLaughlin qualifying 2nd for Race 2. James Whincup won the pole for Race 1, Craig Lowndes won the pole for Race 2.

For the third full race I've seen, Race 2 was pretty good.

The Top-3 for Race 7 Qualifying remained the same at the end of the race, with Fabian Coulthard taking his first win of the season, following by Shane van Gisbergen coming 2nd and Dale Wood getting the first podium of his career in 3rd place.

Yeah, I call bullshit on the speeding penalties. Especially considering nearly all of them benefited Frosty. Some serious changes need to made to these penalties, cause they don't fit the crime at all

Even Mark Skaife admitted that the penalties don't fit the crime. Some guys who got busted for speeding such as Rick Kelly and Fabian Coulthard claimed they weren't speeding, whereas Scott McLaughlin who also got busted admitted his mistake and served the penalty as normal. Having 6 drivers out of a 25 car field, which is a nearly a quarter of it, raises eyebrows of whether it's the drivers being too quick at the wrong time, or maybe the Officials are handing out penalties for nothing. It makes so sense, and the Officials in V8 Supercars have a history of making the most inconsistent calls not just in Australian Motorsport, but in all of Motorsport.

In a rarity (and by rare, I mean first time in about 20+ years), there will be a points race on a Friday, in what is a massively retarded format.

Friday

Practice 1: 11:30am (30 minutes)
Qualifying: 12:15pm (20 minutes)
Race 10: 1:30pm

So basically, if your car isn't good off the truck (or plane, since they're in New Zealand), you're going to have a crap weekend.

Mark Winterbottom won Race 11, while Shane Van Gisbergen took out Race 12 for his first win of the season. Winterbottom's 2nd place in Race 12 means he now leads the championship by just 2 points ahead Craig Lowndes with one more race left in the weekend.
