Reliable sources say that Rusty Wallace, Inc., will close its doors at the end of business today, laying off a majority of its employees. Expect an official announcement within the hour.

This is possibly the end of Steve Wallace's career. Slightly disappointed for Michael Annett. Always have liked him, even with the DUI. Think he has a lot of talent.

It's now official.

Rusty will try to help find Steven a ride and will take a giant shit on the rest of the team including Annett and not help them at all.

Got mixed emotions about it. Who knows what will happen to Steven Wallace as far as getting a ride, I SLIGHTLY feel bad for Annett, I'm glad that most of us (and drivers) no longer have to worry about Rusty doing whatever he can to keep his son a ride. And if Steven can't find one, freaking thank god he's done! Tired of his dumb b.s.

As much as I'm glad, I hate it for Annett. Sad thing is, Rusty won't do a damn thing for him so as glad as I might be with Steve not getting ride, I also hate that it also means Annett will not get a ride either.

I don't think we'll see Annett again. Ever. That's incredibly unfortunate, to me, at least.

I gotta say. This has been an awesome silly season.
-David Ragan loses his ride, can't find one/no one wants him cuz he has no skill.
-Kyle Busch might not be able to race in the truck races, possibly most of the nationwide races this year because sponsors hate him.
-Meanwhile, "Rage-aholic" Kurt Busch gets fired from Penske and goes over to Phoenix Racing, which I think is hilarious.
-A.J. Allmendinger gets a legitimate ride from Penske.
-Now this, aside from Annett losing his ride.

You do realize that Michael Annett is a pay driver with a sponsor attached to him...

Why does everyone like Annett, I hope he ends up racing tractors or motorized shopping carts. He blew it, partying.

If by it, you mean a .32, then yes, he did.

Very happy to see fail get out, yet it's sad, because it now gets harder to have a full field in not just Nationwide, but Cup and Trucks too.

As much as I hate RWI and Steven Wallace, I hate to see all those employees loose their jobs.

NASCAR is now going to have one less caution now.

I wouldn't of thought RWI would of been closing up shop.

UPDATE: Officials of Rusty Wallace Racing, LLC (RWR) announced today that the team's on-track activities will be put on a temporary hiatus. While the organization's day-to-day competition activities will temporarily cease, key elements of RWR's business staff will remain in place to continue development of future opportunities. The team is currently assisting #66 driver, Steve Wallace, in exploring several exciting opportunities for 2012, with backing from his current RWR sponsors. RWR will continue to maintain and manage those sponsor relationships on Wallace's behalf. #62 driver, Michael Annett has been released from the team and will pursue other 2012 opportunities with his longtime family sponsor, Pilot Flying J.(Rusty Wallace Racing)(1-6-2012)

It's going to be a much smaller and more boring field without Rusty's cars on the grid. :[

Michael Annett will be at some team, being a pay driver. No one's going to accept Steve on a team unless they only thing, oh he's Rusty's son, he's got massive talent.
