2017 Italian GP

From one famous track to another, Formula 1 goes from a weekend at the Spa to a weekend at Monza. This is a home race for the entire Ferrari outfit and can be a turning point for the rest of the season. Let's get to a few headlines coming into a weekend in Italy.
Gap to 7
The drivers championship has been a very close fight all year long between Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel. While most (like me) expected a Hamilton runaway for 2017, that has not been the case for this season. Sebastian Vettel has managed to keep Lewis Hamilton at bay for the majority of the season. While Sebastian still has the lead over Lewis, the gap now is only 7 points. If Vettel takes the win here in Italy on Ferrari's homesoil, it will be difficult for Hamilton to take his 4th title.
Ocon vs. Perez...Again
Force India has kicked some major ass this season, not only to the entire midfield, but almost eachother. The Force India teammates took eachother out again in Spa souring their relationship even more than what it was. At this point, this is getting ridiculous between these two. I can understand having a bitter rivalry with another driver but when that other driver is your teammate, something has to change for a battle of fisticuffs to not happen.
Ferrari Stays Similar
On the leadup to the Belgian GP, Ferrari announced that their lineup of Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonnen will be the same for 2018. Vettel signed a 3 year extension with Marrinello while Kimi will stay on for 1 more season. I consider the keeping of Kimi to be rather odd considering his form over the season and, well, for the last 3 seasons I meant. I hope that Jos told Max that he is not going to be in red for 2018.
The Quiet Aussie
In my opinion, one of the most underrated drivers for the 2017 season has been Red Bull's Daniel Riccardo. For those of you who may not have been paying attention, Daniel Riccardo has scored 1 win, 6 podiums, and has doubled Max Verstappen's point total. You can definitely argue that Daniel's win in Baku was a total fluke but he still has 5 other podiums to show for it. While Red Bull may not win another race for 2017, we may have to keep our eye out on the Aussie for 2018.
