Mallory Park looks like it will have to enforce a 105dB noise limit which probably means Mallory will slowly die out, Howard Strawford the man who saved Castle Combe and helped make the BRSCC what it is today has died and The Midlands Rally has been cancelled.
WHY!?

I have come to the conclusion that Mat Dickie is one of my favorite people in the world. And probably my favorite game developer too, aside from maybe the team at Rockstar.

Sounds like some people that live around the track complained about the noise.
Which begs the question: If you hate noise, why live around a race track?

It's like buying a house in an lion enclosure and then complaining to the council when one of your children gets eaten. People like that annoy the crap out of me. Luckily it looks like it won't be imposed on the Wednesday testing, so we will hopefully continue to see people like Mike Wilds who go there to test Group C Le mans cars and 1970's F1 machinery.RyanB06 wrote:Metro 6r4 wrote:Mallory Park looks like it will have to enforce a 105dB noise limit which probably means Mallory will slowly die out, Howard Strawford the man who saved Castle Combe and helped make the BRSCC what it is today has died and The Midlands Rally has been cancelled.WHY!?

Same thing with Luna Park in Sydney. People complained about the noise the big dipper was making, so it wasn't rebuilt after the ghost train fire.

Just stumbled upon this. I have to say I envy Watson. And I echo Carl's sentiment, I wouldn't want the responsibly either.

And it's not like the track was built in the past 5 years, it's been there almost 60 years I believe and it even hosted Formula One meetings in the 70s..

Today I saw my physics teacher in a US Marine dress blue uniform decorated with various medals and ribbons, wearing Vietnam era style glasses, and arguing with a non existent older man in army greens with a deep voice. I didn't even have school today is the funny thing.Cynon wrote:vbooy57 wrote:I'm tired to the point of near hallucination...

That's saddening, loses one of the primary circuits for club racing in the UK. Probably why motorsports dying out, it's just ending up in pointless countries like Abu Dhabi and Korea.

Re: Random Discussion Thread
Luckily Chris Meeke has said that it's not for sale but I'm not taking my eye off this one. I've heard the problem is that John Ward isn't cooperating fairly and six residents who are new have moaned about the circuit, despite failing to see their own incompetence in recognizing the signs for a race circuit pasted around the village.Milan655 wrote:

Petition to save Mallory Park: http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/46739
I urge you to help save this circuit as it is just a case of small minded people picking at a circuit which has existed for over 50 years, I know most of you will probably never go there as it is in England but it's the thought that counts and it needs all the help it can get. If it beats the opposition, it will be a win for circuits everywhere.
Your help is greatly appreciated.

I'm thinking of joining the ISRA TeamSpeak, but I have two questions first. Is there a specific version of TeamSpeak that I need to get on your server? And if I join, is it one of those communitites where you're only let in if you have NR03 and can race online?

You just need to Teamspeak 3 client. There are a bunch of people who come on the teamspeak who dont have NR03.Casey Lester wrote:I'm thinking of joining the ISRA TeamSpeak, but I have two questions first. There's really no reason for you to not get NR2003 once you start showing up around in the GOMA teamspeak, you'll get it sooner or later.
