EFR World Cup Soccer League

This is my Fantasy Style Soccer World Cup League. I will be using the video game EA Sports FIFA World Cup 2006. All I will do is watch the A.I play the game kinda like NR2003. Here is the list of Rules:

- The first 32 people will choose a team from this list http://faqs.ign.com/articles/714/714709p1.html (Only National Teams)
- Once there are 32 teams selected, I will do a random draw for games.
- Once the games are set, I will run each game one by one.
- There will be 2 games played for the round of 32 with the team you get paired up with. Say you win game one 3-0 but lose game two 1-0, you move on cause you have scored more goals but if you scored a goal as the away team, It counts as Two goals cause you are the away team and Don't Have home field advantage. Once we hit the round of 16 there will only be 1 game. You win, You move on. You lose during round of 16, You are out. Simple as that.
- I will run the games one by one to see who wins. I will also post screenshots at halftime and at full time.

GAME 1:

Germany vs. Ivory Coast

1st Half - Fairly even match between both teams early in the game. As the half went on, Ivory Coast got a couple of chances and scored a goal off a rebound. Germany had the ball for the rest of the half but didn't do much other than dominate the possession stat. The half ended 1 - 0 CIV. (Cote d' Ivoire is french for Ivory Coast BTW.)



2nd Half - Germany came back strong during the start of the 2nd Half with many chances at the net and taking many big risks to get a goal. The risks resulted in possession for Ivory Coast and the held on to take the win 1 - 0. Since Ivory Coast was the away team, They have the advantage 2 - 0 in the 2 game series. Germany to tie must score and win 1 - 0 in the next game.

GAME 2:

USA vs. Japan

1st Half - The game started out with USA dominating Japan getting chances and almost scoring on multiple occasions but this would tur out costly. Japan got on the counter attack and scored a very weird goal. They passed it from half trying to get a player on a breakaway. The ball deflected off the Japanese players head just enough to get it out of reach for the US goalie and scored. That made the States play like mad men on steroids up to the point the USA made a very dirty tackle at mid field which ended up with a red card for the USA player. Very eventful First half.



2nd Half - USA began the 2nd half like they did the first. Dominate and get chances but again Japan got the ball with counter attacks and got their fair share of chances at the USA net. This resulted with Japan scoring another goal. USA were determined to answer right back and right back they did. Right off the restart of the game, USA got on the attack and scored a goal. USA continued to dominate the match. At the end of the game, USA tied the game up 2 -2 and thats how the game ended. Since Japan were the away team, They have advantage. The score is 4 Japan 2 USA.

GAME 3:

Italy vs. Czech Republic

1st Half - Italy started out very well like the powerhouse they are dominating the ball left and right. They had chances that resulted in a corner kick. Off the corner, they scored. Textbook perfect header into the net off the corner kick. As the half went on, the game got back even with possession being very close. The Czechs didn't have many good chances in the Half with the half ending at 1 - 0.



2nd Half - Entire half played at midfield with nothing much to say other than it was a snooze fest. Not much to talk about other than the final Score. Italy 1 Czech Rep. 0. Italy was home team so they only have a 1 - 0 advantage.

GAME 4:

England vs. Switzerland

1st Half - Both teams had great opportunities to score but weren't able to capitalize on their chances. England dominated possession.



2nd Half - Early in the half, The Swiss had a great chance and capitalized off a rebound and score. Midway through the half, there was nothing to talk about. At the end of the match, England had their best chance at goal but bad luck strikes and the powerful shot hits the post ending the game with a 1 - 0 victory for Switzerland. Since the Swiss were the away team, they get away team advantage so the real score is 2 - 0 for the Swiss.

GAME 5:

Norway vs. Nigeria

1st Half - The first half was very entertaining with both teams getting multiple chances at the net. Both teams managed to hit the post but the score line at the end of the first half was 0 - 0.



2nd Half - At the start of the second half, Both teams played patient waiting for a chance. As the half went on, both teams began to get impatient and physical. A Norwegian player made a bad tackle and got himself a yellow card. The Nigerians got very aggressive and angry after the poor tackle by the Norwegian player. They got their revenge but it would cost them dearly. A Nigerian player made a very bad tackle and the referee took care of that incident with a red card for the Nigerian player. This gave the advantage to Norway and late in the match, the Norwegians scored a goal off a corner kick. The game ended 1 - 0 for Norway. They lead the 2 game series 1 - 0 because they were the home team.

GAME 6:

Holland vs. South Africa

1st Half - Early in the game, Both teams played the waiting game. They waited and waited until South Africa got a chance at goal. They took that chance and good luck was with them as they scored the first goal of the match late in the half.



2nd Half - The start of the half was very similar to the first half. Waiting game. South Africa got their chance again Midway through the half and again scored off a cross. This killed Holland's chances at moving on to the next round. South Africa wins 2 - 0. Since South Africa was away team, They are winning 4 - 0 due to the away team rule.
