EFR World Robotic Combat League

Idea Behind the Game:

So you remember that awesome tv show named Battlebots (SPOILER ALERT: THEY GOT RENEWED THIS YEAR GO WATCH THAT IF YOU HAVEN’T) or for those of you from the UK…remember Robot Wars? Well they made a game with the same basic idea around 12 years ago out named Robot Arena 2 and thanks to some lovely mods we will be able to fight some of those classic bots from Yesteryear (Or in Nightmare’s case today ).

This will be a Tournament/Event style league where we will run 5 tournament rounds with the same robots and then to keep things fresh we will switch to a different set of robots for another 5 rounds till we get to the end of the 20 round schedule.


Mods:

We will be using 3 mods for this.

DSL 2.0 (With both the real life bots, and the reimagined original Robot Arena 2 bots
Starcore Mod (The Original game with massive edits to it including some crazy robots)
BBeans DSL Mod (The DSL Update with bots from a well-known tournament group in the Robot Arena community)



Tourney Style

The Brackets will be entirely dependent on how many people sign-up for this. Each participant will pick and in-game team and that will be the team they will fight for the first 10 rounds, and then get to change the team for next 5 and the same after

For the 3 arcs (15 rounds), It will be a best of 3 series while in the last arc (5 rounds) will be a best of 5 series.

The videos will be “live” (pre-recorded ) footage with commentary , however I’m trying to decide if I should go on the typical professional commentary style or just do laid-back fun commentary with some of the EFR guys.
