Rahal will probably bring the #30 to Indy in all goes well then. Likely won't be the Conman driving, but it's still good to add another car to the car count.

Expect an announcement tomorrow from Andretti Autosport about a fourth full time car. They've said that there will be one, and they've hired staff to have one, but no driver announced. Rumor is, according to SPEED, that the announcement will come tomorrow.

Not really. It was going to be either Viso or Narain Karthikeyan. Viso stopped wrecking like a fool last year plus he brings money so it'll be good for the team. Plus he started off 2011 pretty strongly, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for now.

Word is Bourdais might have just gotten screwed over by his team owner Jay Penske. Robin Miller reports that the team is in jeopardy of losing sponsor TrueCar, after Penske told his pay driver Katherine Legge, who has a signed contact with TrueCar, that she may be sent to a satellite team. Legge is reportedly angry and may leave Dragon Racing. It is unknown if TrueCar will go with her. I don't know if Dragon has any other sponsors, but I haven't heard anything.

According to SPEED, there is a new entry on the entry list for the Sebring test next week, with a driver and an owner that have not yet been announced. That's all I know about this, other than that this team will make an announcement sometime this week.

Sebastian Saavedra has replaced Katherine Legge. Legge has lost her sponsor and odds are we will never hear from her again. TrueCar is staying with dragon.

I doubt she can find a ride because she hasn't won anything in seven years and now doesn't have a sponsor. If she can pick up sponsorship she'll be back in.

Makes a lot of sense to me. He's a proven winner (won Sonoma last year) and is good at Indy (polesitter last season).

Nothing even closed to being confirmed at the moment, but the hot rumor around the Indianapolis area is that Townsend Bell will pilot a second Ed Carpenter Racing car at the Indianapolis 500 this year. Like I said just a circulating rumor, nothing confirmed.

Rahal is bringing the third team car to Indy with an unknown driver, who people have speculated to be Michel Jourdain Jr, but nothing is announced there either. If the rumor is true, The second ECR car would put 31 entries on the list at the moment. There are only a few possible teams that are able to bring out an extra car due to lack of sponsorship, so going over 33 entries is going to be tough. Panther is rumored to be bringing Buddy Rice in for another car, but no other team has hinted at another car. Many teams have denied the possibility. So far, the only options for the remaining cars on the entry list would lie on the backs of Dragon, Herta, Coyne, and Foyt. I myself think the Coyne and Foyt entries are the most likely. Pippa Mann and Jay Howard apparently have some money apparently, so I think they would be the first ones to get rides.

A lot of this is just my speculation, so don't take it for fact.

Second Carpenter car is unlikely. It was on the entry list last year but was a no-show. They didn't have any plans on running it, it was like a backup to the #20T car. Carpenter has wrecked his fair share of cars so the 21 was entered as backup.

Foyt will have a second car for Conor Daly. Chase Austin was supposed to drive it but he was replaced by Daly.

Tomas Scheckter remains a possibility. He has some limited sponsorship but would need more. Team owners are hesitant to hire Scheckter because of his rather infamous reputation for wrecking.

Rubens Barrichello would like to make a run at Indy but financial backing isn't there.

Alex Zanardi has also been contemplating a comeback.

There are already 25 full time cars
+ a third Penske car for AJ Allmendinger
+ a third Rahal Letterman car for Michel Jourdain Jr.
+ a fifth Andretti car for Carlos Muñoz
+ a second Foyt car for Conor Daly.
+ a forth Ganassi car for Ryan Briscoe.
That's 30 confirmed cars
* Townsend Bell usually runs the 500 and I would assume he will do so again if he can find the money. He has in the past so I'd say he's pretty likely he'll be there. Possibilities include Carpenter, KV, and Schmitt.
* AFS Racing could run a driver because they have sponsorship from the owner. Again, this ride could go to Tomas Scheckter, Jay Howard, Pippa Mann, as well as many others
* Barrichello, Zanardi, the Carpenter #21, a second Fisher car, and numerous others are the long shot entries.

I heard something a while back about Chase getting spooked while in an indy Lights ride, so that may have had something to do with it. He might have lost the interest like Conway.

Jaques Lazier apparently wants to make a return to IndyCar, starting with the Indy 500. Don't know if he's got a ride yet, but says he wants to run full time in 2014, and wants to start in this year's Indy 500. Plenty of room since we're still three cars short.

There's still a possibility of a third Foyt car. The story that was going around is that Chase felt it was too soon and that he planned to move up more gradually, but that's just a rumor. I'm not sure if it's true.
