I continue to wonder why people watch F1 because it is boring as hell.

Way to sterotype....When this season had quite alot of overtaking. Great races > Great finishes with different people wining each race.

Sounds like someone's butthurt because f1fan here made a NASCAR predictions thread. Someone who watches NASCAR like a fat person watches cake doesn't have any room to call Formula 1 boring. I'll tell you what is boring, watching a group of half-overrated drivers run circles around places like Kentucky or Las Vegas while the commentators fap incessantly over them and refer to them as "the best drivers in the world." Even the worst of European track designers can come up with something more original than 95% of the tracks on NASCAR's schedule every year.

My only prediction at this point is that Raikkonen will probably do wonders for Renault

I'd rather watch F1 than 85% of NASCAR, because there's a lot more variety in the tracks, therefore leading to a greater variation in the racing. Also, go watch the Canadian GP from this year, and if you call that race boring, you shouldn't be a motorsport fan.

Believe it or not, there is a race for a position other than for first!

I'm sorry if you don't like that in F1, the best drivers actually win the championship...

I used to have the same opinion, but then I actually watched a Grand Prix. You're the typical hick NASCAR fan, even though you're from the great white north. Motorsports fans like you disgust me. Not to mention you're just some kid being butthurt over a copied thread on a forum like Duffery said.

Barring any major car problems, Red Bull dominates. They keep Webber for '13 because he's a good slave to Vettel. Razz

Maybe I should've done that. That's what I was agreeing with. That being said I don't follow F1 that much because I just don't find it interesting doesn't mean that it's boring. Just means it doesn't interest me enough to watch it.

2011 wasn't as bad as everyone perceives, Vettel won because he is currently the best driver in the field, Hamilton/Massa shenanigans were hilarious, Canada and Monaco were awesome. Couple other good ones that aren't coming to mind/i don't remember seeing cause i fell asleep but can't think of them.

It's not flaming...More like a debate. If you're gonna say it's boring when probably have never watched it...Be ready to back it up.

Most of the best races I've seen have only had two or three cars that could have a legitimate shot of winning. The only time you ever have more than 5 or 6 drivers in with a shot at winning are superspeedways in NASCAR or in endurance racing.

You don't have to like every form of motorsport, but we do expect you to respect them and those who enjoy them. For example, instead of saying:

You could say something more along the lines of:

Formula One is pretty boring, in my opinion. *insert reasons that back up statement here*

It's not that we don't want you to express your opinions, just do it in a respectful way. The way you put it, you seemed to be more-or-less insulting F1 and it's fans.

I was speaking in terms of common sense rules, as in if you speak your mind, especially about a topic you seem to know little to nothing about, you should expect to have to defend your statement. In most cases, a typical NASCAR race only has a couple of drivers that could realistically win aside from the plate tracks, so your reason for disliking F1 is pretty hypocritical. It was pretty rude to try and hijack f1fan's thread just because he made a mistake and posted another NASCAR predictions thread. Maybe someone should have gone into yours and posted "Gee, I wonder why people watch NASCAR, it sucks"

You like IndyCar don't you? With a few exceptions, Dario, Will, and Dixie win the majority of the races. Yet you don't complain about that. I just think you are afraid to admit that you don't like F1 fans turning their noses up at NASCAR. But it sure as hell doesn't help the cause when you do the same to them.

Runner Up Constructors Champion: Ferrari
Reject Of The Year: Romain Grosjean
Driver Of The Year: Sebastian Vettel. I say he'll get double digits on wins (again)
Biggest Improvment: Kamui Kobayashi
Biggest Dissapointment: Kimi Raikkonen... he'll score points, but, with Grosjean on the team, I say Lotus finishes between 6th and 8th in Constructors points
Best New Driver: Daniel Ricciardo... if only because there isn't that many new guys in F1 this year on reasonable teams that I feel confident in.
Worst New Driver: Charles Pic
Most Improved Team: Catherham. They WILL score points by no more than 10 races into 2012.

Ok. My opinion is that 2011 wasn't very exciting. Hoxwever, I'm happy that being the best actually matters in F1. I think 2012 will be more exciting, Vettel will dominate.

Alright look, everyone is throwing that "You are free to have your opinions and are encouraged to express them, but be ready to defend them!" line around and while I agree with it, it does not mean you need to challenge every differing opinion you see... back off please, Tyson and others have given their reasons and that should be the end of it. If you want to fight over it take it to PMs.

I'm not an admin or moderator of this particular section of the forum, so I apologize if I am going over the line here..... but I thought that it needed to be said.

As for my predictions, I have only a few because I will admit that I don't really watch F1 that much.... but Vettel takes driver's, Red Bull takes constructor's, Vettel wins all but 2-4 of the races. My only bold prediction will be that if the US rounds are run, there will be a surprise winner in one of them.

The most exciting F1 race I've seen was Montreal in '07. Alonso kept making mistakes that shifted control of the race wildly, and then Kubica threw a massive curveball to shake things up. I couldn't sit still it was so good.

but for every other race I think Juan Montoya's words sum it up nicely. he said something like "I watch the first couple of laps and then turn it off, because by then I know who's going to win."

If Tyson had kept his comment to himself, nothing would have been said. You can't expect to post "F1 is boring" in an F1 predictions thread and not have others respond to it. I don't believe anyone was looking to fight with him, so if he's mature he shouldn't have taken offense to our comments.
