[2017] PCC Ratings
The PCC Cup Series will use a completely different ratings package in 2017.
The "Star" Bonus
10 PCC Cup Series, 8 PCC Lites Series, and 6 PCC Trucks Series regulars will be given an arbitrary ratings boost (of 3 to each category in the Driver section).
I will occasionally and arbitrarily rotate who gets the bonus, but I will document who gets it, and when.
"Triple Threat" Bonus
There will be a small ratings boost towards drivers who have won in all three PCC National Series (PCC Cup, PCC Lites, PCC Trucks) towards their ratings in the Driver section.
Moving Between Series
Full-time drivers who move between series will, depending on which series they are moving to, receive a ratings boost or penalty (of 5 to each category in the Driver section) for each series that they move up or down on the ladder. The ratings increase for dropping down to another series is permanent for the season, while the ratings penalty for moving up to another series is temporary, and will be removed at my discretion.
Examples:
Team Hierarchies (This will be determined by the team owner.)
Note: This option is not available to PCC Trucks teams
Starting in 2017, you will be able to choose how your team devotes resources to each of it's cars. The two choices a team will have will be Equal Status and Preferential Ranking.
An Equal Status team will have identical car ratings across the board, not favoring one specific car.
A Preferential Ranking team will be able to devote more resources to a Lead Car, which will receive a ratings boost (of 5 to each category in the Car section). This ratings boost will come at a cost to the team's Third Car (Second Car for PCC Lites Series), which will receive a corresponding ratings penalty (of 5 to each category in the Car section).
---
SECTION 1: Driver Skills and Discipline
Use each number only once: 15, 12, 9, 5, -5. The two fields you don't assign a number to will have a value of 0.
Aggression
Consistency
Finishing
Qualifying
Road Course
Short Track
Speedway & Superspeedway (what you give to speedway, you also give to superspeedway)
SECTION 2: Car (This will be determined by the team owner.)
Use each number only once, the numbers in parentheses are the equivalent of this number's effect on the reliability attribute: 10 (70), 5 (50), 0 (30), -5 (0)
Aerodynamics
Chassis
Engine
Reliability*
* For reliability, the number in parenthesis will be used instead and will be applied to the reliability minimum, since the maximum reliability for the entire field will be 100.
Since the series will use stacked ratings, the numbers will be added to each stack's base stat. Keep in mind that the wider margins have the potential to create more runaway wins, but have the added bonus of really shaking things up in the midfield, because some of the stacks will have base stats that are very similar.
If things don't make sense still, say so.
----
2017 Base Ratings: You don't pick these -- I do -- and they're 100% arbitrary. Classes will be re-balanced at two pre-determined points during the season; I will make note of when these changes occur and which teams are affected.
Note: You can only be in this group by choice, and you can remove your driver from this group at will.
