2019 ASCC Silly Season Thread
With permission and guidance from Cynon, the ASCC All-American Racing Series Presented by Kenslo will return in 2019.
2019 ASCC TMPedia Page
Confirmed Details
-The series will be split into 3 divisions: Saar, Lenard, and Inglesby. These divisions will not be perfectly balanced in terms of field strength.
-Each division will feature 11 full-time teams that race each other at the same time; 33 cars per race, and 3 championships in one.
-The overall championship will be determined with a NASCAR-like playoff format.
-The series is deeply rooted in Southern American culture. As such, most, if not all, of the drivers will be white American men aged 18+, and there will be a strong focus on patriotism and military appreciation. Drivers who are military and law enforcement veterans will carry a special decal.
-While ASCC will be higher in the pecking order than FARC and other smaller series, most drivers who race here won't be taken seriously by TM Master Cup/Lights teams. Master Cup and Lights drivers who don't find success may also drop down here for the remainder of their careers.
-Most teams in the series won't field cars anywhere else.

Navy Vet Jason Richardson will return to the series
After a 4 year absence, Jason Richardson will return to ASCC. The former race winner has previously raced with Southern Motorsports, but left in 2015. He's been racing late models since then.
It's unknown if he'll keep the Navy Sponsorship.

Calvin Hobbes to attempt a full time ASCC season
Calvin Hobbes, the 35 year old native of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, announced that he would be attempting to run in the ASCC full time with backing with UPS. He will attempt as a team owner and main driver of a Lenard. The team name will likely be Tiger Fan Racing. He has applied for the number 68 but is willing to run with whatever number(s) may be available
Tim Woodard to be backed by Caterpillar in ASCC return
The 28 year old native of Killeen Texas posted on social media that he would be balancing his part time ride with Barry Spengler Motorsports in FARC and a full time one with BSM in the ASCC. Team owner Barry Spengler stated that it was time to diversify their team's abilities and public outreach. The revival would likely help BSM reach new heights.
Woodard hopes to get the number 22 but is willing to use another number. He will drive a Saar.

Oh boy, Microtransaction Motorsports is back.
Many sources have been chirping about the new teams in the ASCC and it seems like the worst case scenario has happened. Multiple sources have claimed that Microtransaction Studios, a fairly infamous mobile game developer that has been under multiple FTC investigations since 2017 for deceptive and underhanded business practices including advertising gambling to children among others, have bought multiple ASCC spec Saars, apparently in order to start an ASCC race team. This has not been the first time Microtransaction Studios have started a race team. The company had one from 2015 to 2016 in what is now the NAAC, but that team was disbanded in mid-2016 after a very public firing of driver Ryan Walker over a now deleted tweet which resulted in a full ban from the series. Not much else is known about this development, but if this goes through, the existence of this team might be a chilling indictment on the ASCC and Tyler-Madigan's apparent ignorance of the series.

Embattled Tennessee late model star to feature in ASCC?
Colton Spencer, the 20-year old racer who has made a name for himself in the late model circles of the American Southeast is being rumored to join an ASCC team for the upcoming 2019 season.
However, in the past year, Spencer has also made headlines for the wrong reasons. Just 10 months ago, he was arrested for and charged with public intoxication at a musical festival in Georgia; however, charges were not upheld in court after a judge ruled Spencer could drink because “his parents gave him approval to do so.” Just days later, Spencer was again arrested, again in Georgia, for DUI (driving under the influence). He refused a breathalyzer test and was subsequently arrested. His car was discovered to be “littered with beer cans” according to the arresting officer. Since an actual breathalyzer reading was never recorded, Spencer was charged with the lesser penalty for a first time offender between the ages of 16 and 20 (he was 19 at the time) - with a blood alcohol content percentage of greater than 0.02 but less than 0.08 (his actual BAC% is not known) - having his license suspended for 6 months, fined, and was ordered to complete an alcohol/drug risk reduction program.
Colton Spencer returned home to Tennessee after his tumultuous time in Georgia and has since deleted his social media accounts. Unfortunately Spencer was again caught up in rather shady circumstances as he was accused of sexual harassment by an 18-year old female on the night of his 20th birthday in mid-November. A courtroom hearing was held but a settlement was reached between the parties. All 3 times Spencer has been to court he has been representated by the law firm of which his father, Andy, is a partner, Spence, Spencer, Spice & Spicer.
In a recent interview with a local reporter following one-off appearance for Jim Brennan Motorsports in a late model race at Bristol Motor Speedway, Spencer said he was looking to clear his name - which he claimed the media has “gladly dragged through the mud.” Spencer then took a drag from his JUUL vaporizer and blew the vapor at the camera.
Since then, coincindentally or not - probably not - JUUL has been linked with Spencer coming to the ASCC. Jim Brennan Motorsports could be Spencer’s way into the series. Brennan’s team has been out of the ASCC for the last several seasons after Brennan fell asleep smoking a cigarette at the team’s shop and accidentally burned the building to the ground. Luckily, Brennan (who was alone at the shop that night) escaped unharmed, and vowed he will never smoke a cigarrette again. Unfortunately due to poor insurance coverage, Brennan has spent the last 5 and a half years regrouping financially. Various appearances in late model races in the Southeastern US in 2017 and 2018 could be a sign that JBM is ready to make a comeback in the ASCC.

The Brotherhood of Old American Racers to enter the ASCC
Several motorsports enthusiasts have formed an alliance called the Brotherhood of Old American Racers, or "B.O.A.R" for short, and have acquired manufacturer backing from Saar. This group is led by 62 year old short track driver Louis Garrison of Boise, Idaho. It was also reported that 55 year old Zach Brady would drive their lead car with sponsorship from Spinner Rotors. had not raced in any major league competition since a failed TMMC stint back in 1998.

What's Your Beef? To Return in 2019?!
Possibly if rumors are to be believed. The last time this team was seen it had Porter House and Angus Black behind the wheels of the #16 Optimum Beef and the #24 Carver City Steakhouse cars. If that still remains the case is anyone's guess.
ZeBrew Sponsoring A Car In 2019?
ZeBew Beer is contemplating becoming a participant in the ASCC in 2019 with a #22 entry. It is unknown if they have a driver in mind or will be actively searching for someone to take the wheel.

BIG American Racing Joining ASCC
Southeastern late model owner Brett I. Garlin announced on Facebook that he plans to bring his BIG American Racing team to the ASCC in 2019. The team is actively recruiting drivers and will make further announcements in the coming weeks.

Former ASCC Aaron Law Hopes to Make Return
Kentuckian Aaron Law hopes to make his return to the ASCC after an uninspiring campaign a few years ago. Law brings sponsorship from Murray State University, his alma matter. While he saw some success on ovals, Law really struggled on road courses, where he didn’t have much experience. Law is a free agent but hopes to find a willing team despite his lack of success.

Lou Singer Racing Moving to ASCC?
After an eventful 2018 season in the FARC Lowe Dollar Series, casino magnate Lou Singer has reportedly expressed interest in shifting his Lou Singer Racing team to the American Stock Car Championship.
ABQ Speedbowl winner Mike "Knuckles" Malone joined the team to compete for the championship following the DUI arrest of Aaron Singer, but he is expected to remain committed to FARC in 2019. As such, Singer's younger son, Lou Singer Jr., would likely expand to a full-time schedule as the team's primary driver. There has been little word on Aaron's status following his arrest and suspension by his father, but if he is able to and interested in racing again, him driving a second car may not be out of the question.
Reports indicated the team is expected to continue fielding Inglesbys with sponsorship from Lou Singer Hotels & Casinos, along with advertising two new ventures; Singer SportBet and the Aaron Singer Sobriety Foundation. When questioned about ASCC rumors, Lou Singer declined comment. "Right now we're continuing to focus on bringing home a FARC championship with Knuckles Malone. We haven't thought much about 2019 and we'll worry about it when the time comes."

After buying out the remains of the Big Bunny BBQ Racing Team just before the 2018 season, Seth Anderson struggled to perform well on track, as he adjusted to the owner-driver role with limited funding to boot. Barnes Motorsports is looking to move up to the ASCC after running short tracks for multiple years.
Team Boss and Driver Cam Barnes has stated they are interested in join the ASCC field, they have already confirmed a deal with Lucas Oil to be their primary sponsor for the season. The team has had a few wins and a lot of top 5s at their local track, but now looks to take it big time. Barnes states he would like to keep the tradition alive with his family being former racers, and drive the number 50 car in the ASCC. The Team has still yet to pick a manufacture, but says they are in talks with one, but awaits confirmation from the ASCC that they are in before they confirm the details.
I'm new here, so sorry if this is the wrong place to do it, but i am interested in joining this series and making schemes.

CONFIRMED: Microtransaction Studios to join ASCC
After apparently every single ASCC team refusing to be sponsored by the company, Microtransaction Studios, a mobile game company known for many legal battles over shady practices over plagiarism, emotional manipulation of children, and promoting gambling specifically at gambling addicts, has finally entered the Inglesby Division for the 2019 ASCC season. The car, under the team name of Microtransaction Motorsports, will of course be sponsored by Microtransaction Studios, will be numbered 07 and driven by Texan short track driver Austin Sanders, who has been a successful driver in that part, but unfortunately has been under the thumb of Microtransaction Studios since funding dried up in mid 2017. Despite the constant lawsuits, the company makes $5.2 million a day from their 23 free to play games all released in late 2015 and all obviously plagiarized from commonly beloved video games from the 80's and 90's.

Jek Tono Will Pilot Red 6 Racing Entry
Red 6 Racing has plans to attempt all four available one off events available with Jek Tono piloting the #6 Porkins Beans car. However, that may just be wishful thinking for the scrappy, rebellious team. The manufacturer has yet to be determined as of this writing, but it should be an explosive debut for Tono and the team.

Woodard Trucking and Freight to sponsor experimental chassis, driven by none other than TMMC driver Greg Woodard.
It seems that Woodard Truck and Freight, an well established family trucking firm located in central Illinois has made a deal with Lycoia Motors, a subsidiary of Lenard, to field an experimental chassis modeled after the Lycoia Interceptor. They stated that they'll attempt the One-Off races only during the season. Lenard, will likely be supplying their standard engine that they supply to other teams. It is expected that primary Lenard competitor, Saar, will protest this.
The team has requested the number 96. It is not known if ASCC officials will give the green light on this.

Ryan Long Joins ASCC with Stahlman
33-year old lawyer-turned-driver Ryan Long has signed a deal to join the ASCC in the Stahlman Racing #5 Saar. Ryan is mainly known as the older brother of FARC Lowe Dollar Series driver Tony Long.
"I had an itch for driving and I decided to take this opportunity" Ryan Long said. "It has been a little difficult over the past 12 months but it will be good to finally get behind the wheel."
Ryan Long, from Spring Lake, Michigan, will be bringing sponsorship from New York University, the same university where he obtained his law degree.
"I am excited for my older brother" Tony Long said. "Like he said, the past 12 months have been rough for us and seeing him get the chance to go on his own and drive for a championship in a competitive series brings a smile to my face. Hopefully, this experience will be fruitful for him to possibly advance his career."
Tony Long confirmed that he would not be attempting any of the ASCC one-off races to focus on a FARC campaign with SWH Racing.
