Re: (LDS) Race 7 - Smash Beer One for the Road 100
- Jim Kidd Addresses "Rampage":
- Kidd Apologizes... Sort of
This season-- but his past two races in particular-- announcers, pundits, and social media have described Jim Kidd as "being on a rampage."
"I'm sorry everyone feels that way but I'm trying to win a championship here."
After finishing 4th at Nelson Ledges, Kidd currently sits in 5th place in the 2018 FARC Lowe Dollar Series overall points standings-- a whopping 89 points behind leader Mark Thompson. Kidd seems to think that over aggressive driving by other drivers is the main reason.
"Hey man, Rip (Tyler) and I were discussing it the other day-- it's crazy out there. No one is willing to settle into a race anymore. No one is willing to be patient and see how things shake out anymore. No one is willing to make their move strategically anymore. Slow cars won't move out of the way. It's balls to the wall and pedal to the metal out there! No one backs off the throttle and they will run you off the track without a second thought. I have no choice to match the aggressiveness of the rest of the field."
Kidd continued, "It's gotten to the point that you either run over people or you will GET run over yourself-- it's dog eat dog-- more like kill or be killed! I'm afraid that what may happen if we don't figure this out soon. I have to match this over-aggression that is running rampant out there or I'll be sent spinning into the wall or the infield. I didn't complain early on when I was getting wrecked out of races, but there seems to be an awful lot of vitriol directed at me lately for doing what has been done to me. You got people whining about me and wanting to fight and whatnot when they are hypocrites themselves-- and I'm looking at you, Timothy Ruiz. See what that guy did in the pits to Packer Carroll? Who's the donkey now?!"

Re: (LDS) Race 7 - Smash Beer One for the Road 100
- Post-Race Press Release:
- Perry-Jones Wins Chaotic Race at Nelson Ledges
Jasper, Indiana native Michaela Perry-Jones has become the latest first-time winner in the FARC Lowe Dollar Series.
After qualifying on the pole position for the Smash Beer One for the Road 100, she showed that the #93 Q-Trim Lenard had the race pace to make use of the good run in qualifying, leading the most laps and even recovering from a flat tire that sent her to the rear of the field for the final restart, which came with only 13 laps to go. The race was only the fourth of her FARC tenure, and not even the 40th of her short auto racing career which began in late models only two years ago.
All the more impressive is the fact that this race took place at the Nelson Ledges Road Course. Prior to this weekend, Perry-Jones had never competed at a circuit that is not a short track, much less one that is not an oval.
The flat tire during the final caution, however, would not be the only incident of her race. While working her way back towards the front during the closing stages, she made contact with the Desert Star Motorsports car of Thomas Culler and sent him into the tire wall outside of the Carousel. Perry-Jones was distraught over her radio concerning the incident, with her crew chief attempting to calm her and keep her focused on the race.
Her victory is the second for the Durbin Sport, Ltd. team so far this season, as Joshua Pacer managed to win the race at Sayre Speedway.
"This is... I can't believe this. I can't believe that I'm here, that we won a race" said Perry-Jones to reporters after climbing out of her car. "I'd never have dreamed that I'd be here so soon but it's crazy and I need to thank Ike Durbin and my entire team because they gave me this chance and gave me a great car. Seriously, this car was amazing. I've never felt that comfortable in a race car. I wish I would have won it cleanly, I really didn't want to get into any trouble, but... it was still a great race. And I think I really love road courses now!"
Perry-Jones now ranks seventh in the overall championship standings, the highest among drivers who have not started each of the seven races that have been contested thus far. Her next race, and the next appearance for the DSR car #93 will be at Berlin Raceway in Marne, Michigan.

Re: (LDS) Race 7 - Smash Beer One for the Road 100
- Ruiz runs well, top 20 in points:
- After a horrible start to the season, T. Ruiz manage to put a good run and is currently in the top 20 in points. However, this is the last race we'll see of Timothy Ruiz till Race 10 in Illinois State Fairground. When talked about his run, Timothy said this. "He's, for the most part, okay with the performance as of late." He also mention the he still hope to run more races in the future. When ask on how his brother is doing, Timothy remained quiet with his brother's business but did mention that both have buried that hatched of the past events.
While the hatchet has been buried, another question arises. With T. Ruiz remained quiet on X. Ruiz's business, rumors are swirling that Reality Network really wants out on Xavier's contract. They do have an opt out after the season and more and more reports suggest that's the case. Xavier had failed to make both of the races and with also reports indicate that Xavier's team [Ruiz Autosports] is going to either merge with Timothy's team [Ruiz-Paul Motorsports], stay independent and find new sponsors, or fold and leave the sport for the time being. There's no clear cut way on which is true, but Xavier is shown to be more open on a merger than folding. We can only wait and see.
