Benson OUT at Stephans after Talladega

In a move that surprised absolutely no one, Stephans Racing has announced that Chris Benson's contract will be terminated following the Round of Alabama.  The team has cited performance and sponsorship issues as the main reasons for dropping the Las Vegas native.  Benson has driven for Stephans Racing since 2011, with major backing from Stratosphere Las Vegas.  With Stratosphere cutting back on their deal at the start of the year, Benson's ability to run a full season was immediately put in doubt, and it seems that it will come to an end after Talladega.

It is unknown who will take the #55 car after Talladega.  Drivers rumored to take over include former Stephans drivers Donnie Olsen and Kenny Stephans, PCC Cup veteran Greg Maddox, and PCC Lites hotshoes Casey Lester and Lenore Scurry.
