NASCAR at Chicagoland
Entry lists
Cup: http://www.jayski.com/news/stats/2016/story/_/page/27-Chicago-2016-Entry-List
NXS: http://www.jayski.com/news/nxs/2016/story/_/page/26-Chicago-NXS-2016-Entry-List
CWS: http://www.jayski.com/news/campingworld/2016/story/_/page/2016cts16chicago-entry
The Chase kicks off on the Cup side, while Xfinity and Trucks will set their Chase fields this weekend.
Xfinity Chase
Clinched spots (10): Erik Jones, Elliott Sadler, Daniel Suarez, Justin Allgaier, Ty Dillon, Brendan Gaughan, Brennan Poole, Brandon Jones, Darrell Wallace Jr., and Ryan Reed
Spots remaining: 2
Can clinch: Blake Koch (can also clinch with 39 points if no repeat winner; 19 points if repeat winner); Ryan Sieg (clinches with Koch win and 22 points); Dakoda Armstrong and Jeremy Clements can make it if they win, but need help otherwise. (Obviously if Koch or Sieg win they're in, but with three Cuppies in the field (Kyle Busch, Kyle Larson, and Clint Bowyer) it's more likely that won't happen.)
Truck Chase
Clinched spots (6): William Byron, Matt Crafton, John Hunter Nemechek, Johnny Sauter, Ben Kennedy, Christopher Bell
Spots remaining: 2
All but clinched: Daniel Hemric and Timothy Peters (on points). However, if there's a new winner (i.e. not any of the clinched six who's running for Truck points), Peters will be bumped out.

Good job, Truex. At this point he has my vote to win the championship this season, although were just getting started for the inevitable shitstorm in year 3 of the Chase format, but we'll see.
Onto my home state of New Hampshire.

Re: NASCAR at Chicagoland
"The race-winning car of #78-Martin Truex Jr. and the 12th-place car of #48-Jimmie Johnson failed postrace measurements. They were at the lowest levels so Truex will be able to use the win to advance to the second round of the Chase." - ESPN.com
If you fail postrace inspection but win the race...then why in the bloody hell would the win allow to advance you? Great inconsistency NASCAR...

Re: NASCAR at Chicagoland
This was actually the first time I didn't want Truex Jr to win, but simply because I wanted Blaney to win more.

I know it wasn't a bs caution, but Chase got Screwed.

We know he'll find way to chase it (no pun intended). As long as he runs consistent well throughout the rest of the chase, he'll be up there.AntmanB wrote:I know it wasn't a bs caution, but Chase got Screwed.
