- Spoiler:
- HQS Team Manager Connor Swift Says Owner Atkins Not Focused On Racing
The team manager of HQS Racing, Connor Swift has said that Ben Atkins' focus is not with racing at the moment. Swift, who has worked with Atkins in Dash Cup and FARC racing in the past, has admitted that the team owner of HQS Racing has been distancing himself from the race team, and has not seemed to have the motivation when behind the wheel of a car either. Atkins has been racing part time in both the PART and NAAC series this year, and registered three wins in the second tier of PART racing before its closure.
"At the beginning of the year, he was really hardworking for the team, but now you can tell that he doesn't really have his eyes set on racing." said Swift, "Last year, he stayed up working on the cars with the teams, and he was always working for the team... now he's just there when he needs to be. Even when he's racing, he doesn't really seem too bothered about where he finishes as long as he doesn't tear up the equipment."
Atkins and his wife, Hannah Percy, a former Dash Cup champion, have been expecting a child since mid-May, meaning that Percy is about halfway through her pregnancy. Swift said this does correlate with when Atkins' motivation seemed to dip down.
"I get why he would be disinterested after the year he's had. He's even told me the biggest success he's had this year isn't even his race wins; it's been Hannah's pregnancy. He's incredibly proud of that."
Atkins was asked for comment, but has yet to say anything.

Atkins uninjured in massive practice crash. Not racing the CSH Pistons 160
The driver of the # 20 car Ben Atkins was released from the care center a few hours after getting cut out from his car. No injuries to be reported, although extensive tests were done to assure such.
He was unable to come out due to the fact the window got damaged in the crash, making exit under his own power impossible, the safety crew made a makeshift roof hatch to help extracting Atkins.
Atkins and HQS Racing have yet to speak about the incident, but the only thing known is that when the race comes, Atkins will not be the driver of the # 20 being replaced by Thomas Culler.

Troy Griffith Confirmed Out at Gailey Enterprises; Jonathan Haskins Takes the Wheel of Main Series Entry in 2018
This week, Gailey Enterprises finally confirmed the long-standing rumors surrounding driver Troy Griffith -- that he would be leaving the team at the end of the 2017 season. The announcement came at a Monday press conference following the CSH Pistons 150, at which Griffith was not present. Roger Gailey spoke briefly about the departure, saying "Troy's decision to leave this team had been decided since Mid-Ohio. He just doesn't want to be here facing the press to tell you this. That's his choice. He was fed up with the bickering and drama as much as I was."
At this press conference, Roger Gailey introduced his pick for the now vacant left by Troy Griffith's depature -- 25-year-old Jonathan Haskins, out of Dalton, GA. Haskins came up through the same ranks as Chase Lynch, as a well-known competitor and 2015 champion of the American Short Track Challenge Series (ASTCS). Haskins is known for his very eccentric, jovial and boisterous attitude, yet he has something of a notoriety attached to him due to his unconventional off-track activities. In stark contrast to Lonny Rawlins, he has proved to be a very inconsistent, chaotic, and sometimes reckless driver -- in his championship-winning 2015 season of ASTCS, he finished in the Top 5 of all the races he didn't crash in or retire from, which only amounted to around 68% of the races that season. Haskins said of his championship feat, "We just had more races go right for us than wrong this season."
Gailey confirmed that the #39 currently piloted by Troy Griffith would be renumbered to #80 in 2018, but indicated that sponsor details are still up in the air. DHL may return as the primary sponsor, but alternatively, Haskins may bring one of his own sponsors to the hood of the #80 car. Gailey also apologized for the relative lateness of this announcement, saying, "We didn't have a driver until just last week. Otherwise we'd have announced it sooner."
Griffith's future plans are unknown, but a popular rumor is that he may be looking for an ASCC ride full-time in 2018.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sorry, I still have no idea what to do for a sponsor for this car. Kinda want to do something with either a black-white-orange color scheme or a orange-white-teal color scheme, so I'm looking for sponsors that use those colors. I'm open to suggestions.

Re: 2017 North American Auto Club (SILLY SEASON!)
Okay, so after working a bit into the new NAAC TMPedia page I was able to create some space, which now allows me to actually run the Canadian and Super Late Models, the ratings system will be the same as the Championship Series, in which I'll define the seeding for each team and driver.
Forgot to add, if you want any teams in the secondary tours, hit me up. The due date will be on the 15th of August, so you can have time to carefully plan stuff out.

Re: 2017 North American Auto Club (SILLY SEASON!)
The Indiana brothers look to win first championship in racing.
Lee and Jamaal Schmidt, brothers from Indianapolis, Indiana, come to the Tryhard 500 with a dream, to have one of them end the day celebrating the NAAC championship, also a first for team owner Ernest Lewis, who fell short last year with Rebecca Pellerin, leading to Carsons winning the title.
Jamaal: We never expected to be this close this year, Rebecca had the best car, while we weren't competitive last year, but it was quite shocking this year, even David won twice. Rebecca would've loved to win it herself, but she's really happy for all of us, she left her family team, to help us, and she's proud where the team has gone, we got 3 cars in the final race.
Lee: Like my brother said, it's been quite the journey, our race team has gotten better, last year Rebecca was carrying this team, but this year it all clicked, I won twice, David also won 2, same with Jamaal, and Rebecca still won 3 races, and probably would've been the title leader if she stayed. It's going to be fun racing with the Matthews-Atlantic group for this, may the better team wins.
LeBlanc calling it a career in NAAC after Tryhard 500
In the press conference with all 9 challengers for the NAAC title, David LeBlanc announced this would be the last race in his full-time career in the premier NAAC series. Future plans were not announced for David.
LeBlanc: It's been fun this year, finally won my first race, got another, and we're in the title fight, but I think this is the right time to call it quits, full-time, you might see me sometimes in the paddock, but I want to race back home, and start a family, and I just want to thank Ernest Lewis for this oppertunity.
In a later press release, the NAAC Zippo National Series driver, Emilie Potvin would be replacing David in the 88.

Re: 2017 North American Auto Club (SILLY SEASON!)
- Tony Long Reflects on NAAC 2017:
As NAAC closes that chapter on 2017, Tony Long took a look back on the 2017 season.
"Overall" Tony started, "this season was a let down production wise but not in future plans. It could have went much better than what the result was."
The season started out promising with a 13th place finish in the season opener in Fontana but slowly went downhill from there. While he only competed in 7 races, Tony failed to finish 4 of the 7 including the Tryhard 500.
"In my defense, 3 of the 4 DNFs were not of my doing" Tony added. "I was just wrong place wrong time for the 3 but the 4th I wish I had back."
The other DNF Tony is referring to was sprint 2 at Road America. After qualifying 4th and having arguably the fastest car on track, Tony took the lead early before going wide in the carousel and smacking the tire wall.
"That DNF hurt because I was going to win that race because I have always been good at Road America and we had a rocket ship for a car."
Tony is hoping that his fortunes in 2018 will be different with new cars,
new race format, and a new teammate. For 2018, Tony's part time effort will be joined by a full time effort by his 31 year old brother Ryan.
"Ryan and I are excited about what 2018 holds. Ryan has been preparing for 2018 for about 9 months now and I want him to succeed."
When asked about what his plans were for the future, Tony said, "this (NAAC) is just a stepping stone for plans that I have for 2019 and eventually the 2020s."

Re: 2017 North American Auto Club (SILLY SEASON!)
- Spoiler:
- Bittersweet ending for Ernest Lewis Racing
Coming into segment 3, both Lee Schmidt and brother Jamaal, had a chance of claiming the title.
But on lap 8, a multi-car crash collected the #43 and ended his race. Taylor Matthews got into an accident, meaning all Jamaal needed to do was a top 3 finish, but with a few laps remaining,
the tire went down on the #55, and ended his title hopes.
Jamaal Schmidt: First of all, congrats to Taylor, on an amazing season, and just thanks to all my guys for bringing me a really good car, but sadly, an unexpected failure ended our hopes,
but for a brother combo from Indy, 2nd/4th ain't bad in the points. I can't wait for next year.
LeBlanc ends full-time career with 3rd career victory
Coming to the racetrack, David was there to win it all, he had nothing to lose, was barely in the title hunt, but he still came out the victor.
LeBlanc: We won the 500, it's an amazing experience, I never imagined after the struggles we went through at times, we won this race, I'm a road course specialist, I never imagined being in victory lane here at Talladega. What a way to end a full-time career eh? *laughs* I'm still gonna pop up a few times per year, and I'm sure Emilie will do an amazing job with the 88 crew.
Re: 2017 North American Auto Club (SILLY SEASON!)
Jethro Jones looking for a new ride
2017 #72 driver Jethro Jones has left the Rocky Mountain Racers team and is currently looking for a new driving opportunity for 2018. The move comes as RMR have announced that Pete Moeller will also be leaving the team to be replaced by former World Challenge Cup driver Siobhan McLean, who brings Chipotle sponsorship to the team. RMR development driver Heidi Lewis will replace Jones in the #72 Furniture Row Lenard. RMR will also be expanding their development team to a two-car effort, featuring Scotty Redden and Esme Thomas.
Ben Schneider steps back
Meanwhile, over at H2 Motorsports, #98 driver Ben Schneider will hang up his helmet at the end of 2017 in order to make way for his younger sister Ellie to take over the ride. Ellie will bring Whole Food Markets sponsorship to the renumbered #82 machine.
Simon out at Yokoyama
Jesse Simon has been dumped by the Mason Yokoyama team and is on the hunt for a new deal for 2018. The racer has been in the series for the past few seasons but has yet to race with a competitive team. Simon is hopeful that someone will offer him a package to race for the championship win.

Re: 2017 North American Auto Club (SILLY SEASON!)
Due to an unfortunate issue with my hard drives, killing the files on both, I have completely lost everything for all of my offline leagues (this includes, results, PSDs, TGA flats, carfiles, among other stuff).
In good English: Everything got Fucked
So, right now I do not know what I'll exactly do with the 2018 season. So it's postponed indefinitely.
Because of it, I'll probably rework the whole concept of NAAC to fit a better time frame for myself, so all Silly Season changes are hereby voided, except for the mod change for DMRCup11, I'll probably work on the templates a bit.
I'll update as we go.

Re: 2017 North American Auto Club (SILLY SEASON!)
Caitlin Richler, Thomas Culler released from full-time duties at HQS Racing
In a shocking announcement from HQS Racing, it has been revealed that Caitlin Richler and Thomas Culler have been released from their contracts, and will not race for HQS Racing in the North American Auto Club series in 2018. Culler, a race winner in the top flight of NAAC racing, will become a free agent while team owner Ben Atkins hinted that Caitlin Richler could still be involved with his team, but in another racing series.
HQS Racing announced their full-time lineup of Lexie Percy and Riley McKee, with former Dash Cup driver Cassandra Collins getting her start in US Stock Car racing by completing a half schedule. Caitlin Richler is also on the entry list for Homestead with HQS Racing, hinting even further that her time with HQS Racing may not be over.
"It's a shame these regulations came into place but I fully understand the decision by NAAC." said Atkins, "We are positive that Riley and Lexie will be great in the 2018 season, and we wish nothing but good luck to Thomas and Caitlin in their future endeavours."
Thomas Culler has also expressed his urge to remain full time in NAAC, and said that as soon as it was announced NAAC would only allow two full time cars, he knew where his future would lie.
"It's not exactly a secret that I don't have the sponsorship like Riley and Lexie does," said Culler after the announcement, "but I still got money for a full season behind me, so if I find the right team, I will be pouncing on the opportunity!"

Re: 2017 North American Auto Club (SILLY SEASON!)
I have updated the opening post with the templates for all 3 series.
There is an slight change on the Calton-Morel Nova for the Launch Energy Series (it's now on the Ford mesh, so that the bodylines can blend properly, saving me some time of work).

NAAC 2018 Season Opener currently in jeopardy due to Hurricane Irma
NorthSports.com article by Jeremy Foss (@JFoss)
September 7th, 2017
With Hurricane Irma approaching Florida later this weekend, NAAC officials are hoping for lesser damage, as stated in a press release earlier today, as the state is expected to hold the first round of the Launch Energy Series championship trail.
With that taken into account, there will be extensive planning to see if the race stays at Homestead as the 2018 season opener depending on the damage caused by the Hurricane. With ticket sales already starting next week, NAAC president Paul Martin said:
"We certainly hope this Category 5 Storm does not deal structural damage to Homestead-Miami Speedway and especially to Miami-Dade County and its people. The sanctioning body will assess the damage caused by the Hurricane if there's any."
According to Martin, the body is considering moving the first event of the year entirely away from Florida if necessary, but this will be a last resort for NAAC.
"While we don't believe it'll be needed, we are looking for escape plans, if anything happens to Homestead-Miami, which can include either moving the race from its initial date of March 11th to later in the year, possibly even as the finale. However, we are considering not necessarily moving the race away from its date, but from its location, while staying with the planned schedule"
The next days will be crucial for the North American Auto Club, and for Miami. We await for more updates as they will come

NAAC: Innaugural Sunshine State 300 Pre-Race
NorthSports.com
March, 9th, 2017
Exactly 90 cars contested eCola Pole Qualifying last thursday for the Sunshine State 300, season opener of the 2018 NAAC Launch Energy Championship Series. After the 60 minute session, where the Top 20 would lock themselves into the field, Tina Ashby, with a 27.204 time, over Joel Rodriguez, who had a 27.247.
Following this, the qualfying races were seeded, in which the top 5 would make it into the field. Those races were fairly uneventful, with most of the on track action being composed of overtakes inside of the top 10.
Race 1 saw 2016 PART Champion Grant Carsons, 2015 APRS Champion Mac Hanley, 2015 TryHard 500 Winner Michelle Overton, Rebecca Pellerin and Ryan Walker qualifying.
Race 2 winner was Ryan Griffin, followed by Andrew Cross, Andrew Attwood, Tom Cáo and Lee Schmidt made it into the field, after Jamaal Schmidt had a engine failure with two laps to go and fails to qualify for the season opener.
Max Tender, Lucia Harper, Chris Henke, Ashley Richardson made the top 4, while Ruby Carson qualified for the Sunshine State 300 by 0.004 seconds over Lucas Calhoun in Race 3.
And in the race that could've been filled with surprises, surprises were there as Rence Brown won his first sanctioned race, albeit non-points, driver-owners Roger Gailey and Mason Yokoyama made it in with Jethro Jones and Kirk Jones rounded out the field.
The Innaugural Sunshine State 300 will be broadcasted on the next Sunday, March 11th, starting 1:00 PM EST on the North Television Network and NAACAnywhere streaming service.

For the rebranded Long Family Autosport, 2018 has started off hot for Tony Long but not for Ryan. For the first race of the 2018 North American Auto Club season, Tony qualified for the race in P5 while Ryan failed to qualify.
"I feel we have a pretty good piece under me this weekend" Tony stated. "P5 is a great place to start and hopefully we can put a good season together and contend in more races than we did last season."
Tony will start the race around some very familiar faces too him in his Dash Cup adventures as former MAM teammates Kellan Rogers-Ashby and Carter Fitzgerald start around the 19 year old.
"It was great seeing them (Carter and Kellan) do well in qualifying" Tony commented. "They were both very competitive in Europe and I was not expecting anything different from these two here in the states."
While Tony regained success in NAAC, it was a different story for his brother Ryan. Ryan failed to qualify for the race after struggling with getting used to the car and trying to get as much track time as possible.
"I expected this to happen" Ryan stated. "I was used to the simulator but being in the actual car at the actual track was a major change. It was nice to get some laps in practice and try to gain as much track time as possible."
Hope is not all lost for Ryan, however, as he will be on the pitbox for Tony's race as he will be on the headset and will be listening to him the whole race.
"Ryan will have a lot to learn but the guys and I will try to help him grow and develop for his rookie campaign and who knows, he might show some promise later on" Tony concluded.

- Homestead Q:
- Atkins left displeased after "eggs were in the wrong basket" at Homestead
It was a successful day in Miami for HQS Racing, albeit, for the unexpected entries at the team. One off drivers Cassandra Collins and Caitlin Richler made the event with ease in time trials, however HQS Racing's full time drivers, Lexie Percy and Riley McKee will be packing up and going home early; and this has left team owner Ben Atkins livid.
"I'm just wondering why the crew chief's we've got in for our part-time entries are better than our full-time ones, who we're paying a lot of money for." said Atkins, "I'm just... astounded. We put in a lot of resources to make sure all four cars made this show, and while I'm thrilled for Cassie and Caitlin, I feel for Lexie and Riley. This isn't the way their year should be starting."
Cassandra Collins will be starting 12th, while Caitlin Richler will be starting 13th, one spot behind the 2015 Dash Cup champion.

Re: 2017 North American Auto Club (SILLY SEASON!)
- NAAC at Homestead:
Long Finishes P7 in an "Underpowered Lawnmower"
For many, a 7th place finish in the season opener is a great start to the season. For Tony Long, it was a nightmare as he had very colorful items to say about the Saar Carolina.
"I don't understand, we had great pace in qualifying and the car just didn't show the power in the race" Tony stated. "It was like driving an underpowered lawnmower compared to the cars that were around us."
Early in the race, Tony complained of a very tight racecar that could not turn in the corners losing all momentum going down the straights.
"I had to be very touchy with the car to get it to turn through the center early on" Tony added. "Later on, we got it back to where it was much better but then that is when we saw the damning part of this new car. It may just be 1 race but this not a good sign for the rest of the season."
Tony got his nose a little dirty in the middle portion of the race turning Chris Valentine's car around on the frontstretch. Valentine would spin to the inside while Tony kept on going.
"I saw Chris come up the track heading straight for the wall. Once he hit the wall, I had no time to avoid him and I ended up hitting him. I feel bad for Chris but it is something that just happens."
"All and all, there is room to improve but this is definitely a positive note for us to go on" Tony concluded. "I can't wait to see how my brother will do in his rookie campaign and I hope he will thoroughly enjoy the process."
(OOC: Gabe, those graphics are beautiful, I can see there was a lot of hard work put in and they came out looking fantastic. Great job)

Re: 2017 North American Auto Club (SILLY SEASON!)
- Master Sport Motorsports fails to qualify for season opener; cited reliability problems:
After some testing at Homestead a day before qualification took place, Slovakian rookie driver running near full time this year, Katyen Scurrel alongside her ecstatic part time teammate Alexa Lake clocked laps around Homestead.
After only five laps out of the projected ten laps of practice, both team members lost an engine. If anyone knows Master Sport Motorsports, they know that the team has hundreds of members, and is well funded, so Lake and Scurrel, with their V8 LI6 engines took a few back up motors and retried.
The change proved no improvement, only that Scurrel would have an engine failure at lap 9, and Lake would lose an engine at lap 8.
Lee Denmark, the inventor of the LI6 engine used on the #53 in FARC, sported a challenge from several MSM residents to improve his engine mechanic after the vollies in FARC have yet to be fundamental.
Accepting the challenge, and after two weeks, Denmark finished his blueprint and made his first V8 LI6. Needless to say, he had to make several more to test out.
When these engines were needed at most important times, they failed. The so called "rugged" LI6 V8s were slower than molasses and horribly unreliable. Both Lake and Scurrel were 0.5+ seconds down on 50th place and thus would not qualify for the Sunshine State 300 at Homestead-Miami.
Keith Kannell, Lake's spotter stated that the team is scrambling to find better engines within the week. "After Lee's [Denmark] engine testing failed, we are left to scower and scramble for a more reliable engine. We are on edge as we do not want to miss any race, and having missed Homestead, we are a little disappointed as both of our drivers were looking up to the race. We do not have all the details yet about what engine we have, but we have one in the works."
You will have to wait until next week for the Schiller's Auto Centers 200 in Atlanta! See you there!

- Marcus Stanton praises Mac Hanley's win
"We did well, the car seemed great, the engine was strong and Hanley gave us a great show". With these words, Marcus Stanton stated his pleasing with Hanley's win at Atlanta, kicking off a strong start for Marcus Stanton Motorsports, with a last lap pass and the championship lead.
Jack Patterson happy with 4th place
After a difficult 2017 season, Jack Patterson achieves his first top 5 of 2018 in his first start. "We fail to make it to Homestead, so we put 200% in this qualifying effort, and by the grace of God we made it, hopefully we can keep these strong results and maybe challenge for the title."
Ashcroft Family Racing with a solid early season form
With two top 5s by the two full-time drivers, Thomas Tucker and Kelly Ashcroft, the Family Racing team owned by The Ashcroft Brothers shows they're once again in the eye of the championship hurricane. Despite a crash that wiped out Thomas Tucker with 24 laps to go, the team's morale is at an all-time high, compared to previous years, despite the two wins achieved in 2017, the team was out of its depth. That does not seem the case for 2018.

- NAAC At Atlanta:
Ryan Debuts and Finishes with a Solid Effort
For lawyer turned racecar driver, the debut for Ryan Long could not have been any better. While he did not show a ton of pace in qualifying, Ryan Long slowly and quietly worked his way from a 31st starting position to finish a respectable 18th. He brought home 3 points for the small family operation.
"I was really proud of myself" Ryan stated. "I went in to the day thinking I might humiliate myself in front of millions but that never happened."
Ryan raced very clean gaining 13 positions and earned respect from his fellow competitors for racing everyone cleanly and respectfully.
"I was rather impressed by the number of drivers that came up to me after the race" Ryan stated. "Everyone was respectful and kind talking too me even though they had never met me before. I used to be just the older brother of a known racecar driver now there is some recognition for me."

Re: 2017 North American Auto Club (SILLY SEASON!)
- Slow start for Master Sport Motorsports:
- Lake qualifies, Scurrel does notFor the second race in the season, Katyen Scurrel, of the Czech Republic failed to qualify in her #23 Cheerwine Nova. Scurrel, who is the only full-time driver for the Master Sport Team cites that her issues are because of driver skill, as, she has not had very much experience with these track cars. On top of that, she has had two consecutive mechanical failures which just dampens her chance at a spotlight out on track. Hopefully next weekend, everything will go right for her, and NAAC fans will see a new driver out on track.
Along with Scurrel, her part-time teammate, Alexa Lake, Lake has had better streaks of luck and has had much more experience with this nature of racing and has claimed several top tens in her rather short career. Coming into the Schillers Auto Centers 200,
Lake had a slow qualification, supposedly due to a wet setup, instead of a dry or qualifying setup. She would start low in the field in 30th place.
During the race, Alexa Lake would keep her nose, ultimately clean and would gain several positions to finish in 21st place, just outside points paying positions. Fairly decent result after failing to qualify last weekend. Hopefully, Katyen Scurrel will qualify for Talladega.

Snake, unfortunately, I will have to turn down these entries for 2018, for two reasons:
1. I was without reliable internet for most of the last two weeks, so I did not saw the PMs until yesterday night and didn't even gave a look to this thread until yesterday as well
2. I already actually ran all races of the 2018 season because of the lack of a non-mobile, usable internet connection until yesterday afternoon to be more exact (i was bored, not much to do, just took them out of the way)
But that became the perfect opportunity to introduce the stuff for the 2019 NAAC Season
- preview:
- 2019 NAAC Season Overview
The third season in the North American Auto Club’s lineage will be by far its largest. With the field limitations imposed in the 2018 Championship Series being overruled, in order to bring the double-race system back into the fray.
The Canadian late Model Tour begins to use old steel bodies from multiple series, while a new, regional tour, the Omecha Cup, enters the list of sanctioned series.
NAAC Launch Energy Championship Series
The marquee tour of the NAAC, the Championship Series expands the full-time contestant limit to 60 cars, in order to allow teams that can contest a full season such opportunity, with that, the duel system will be the primary system for the season, for the first time since 2016.
The current body style made not just an overwhelming success, but an impact in the racing style, and as such, it will return with no changes from last year, allowing teams to save money, instead of spending it on useless adaptations done for the sake of being done.
The race format change took place for the reasons stated by NAAC President Paul Martin in the preseason press conference: “There were teams spending a lot of money in this series, and failing to qualify, it was simply disheartening for our officials and teams council, we broke from PART to avoid that, and we did their same mistake, sometimes we got to admit we fail, and that’s what happened, the format did not do what it was intended to, we realized it, and we are fixing it.”
NAAC Master Spark Super Late Model Tour
One of the three regional tours NAAC sanctions, the Master Spark Super Late Models will start focusing into the short tracks of the southern states of America, with 12 races spanning much of the region, from Florida to Virginia. The car stays the same, as the race format also suffers a slight change, with halftime breaks being introduced, removing the need for pit stops in specific events of the season.
NAAC Argyle Canadian Championship
The canadian feeder tour phases out the late models bodies, favoring steel bodied stock cars, allowing them to run on superspeedways for the first time. Twelve races are expected, with a field expansion, Moncton and Alberta join the schedule, as the Canadian stars of the future take it to the track in companion events with NAAC teams.

After a terrible outing at Homestead-Miami Speedway, Yan Motorsports does literally nothing at Atlanta
Emma Yan started 10th...finished 10th
Tom Cao started 15th...finished 15th...
They are looking to improve on these results but its better then crashing out.

- Spoiler:
- Ashcroft apologetic after accidents
During the final caution period of the Patriot Cola 200, Kelly Ashcroft was interviewed by CTN Sports reporter Mike Scott. When questioned about the crashes caused by her on laps 2 and 67, involving Michelle Overton, Tom Cáo, Andrew Attwood, Kellan Rogers-Ashby, Riley McKee,
Lexie Percy, Grant Carsons and Danny Hamilton, the driver of the McDonald's #99 Lenard was apologetic: "In both incidents I'll take the blame, in the first one we were squished together and there was not much room to work with, but in the second it was completely on me,
I was the one that moved down on the #10, and I take full responsibility."
Jeb Lacy achieves the impossible
Coming into the season, it was unlikely that Jeb Lacy or Oliver Killam racing would finish a race among the points paying positions, let alone, qualify for an event, however at the first superspeedway race of the year, the impossible was proven possible as Lacy qualified 33rd out of the 36 starters and worked his way up to 13th place by the end of the 76 lap battle.
Post race he was seen celebrating with his team as if they had won the event. "Man, it was an amazing effort by our guys, we worked all night fixing this car after our practice crash, thankfully we were able to get it in shape and challenge for that win, and I am so thankful to our friends at Hefty and Dale's pale Ale, they know our struggle and I am simply thankful for that result at the end of the day."

Re: 2017 North American Auto Club (SILLY SEASON!)
- Long Family Autosport at Talladega:
Tony Has a Frusturating Day, Ryan DNQs
Talladega was a waste of time and an experience boost for the Long brothers. Their days have varied for the season but each driver has different goals.
For Tony, he took an extremely strong qualifying effort and received a damaged racecar for his troubles.
"I can't recall where the damage came from but it is something you never want on a track like Dega" Tony started. "I thought the car was not bad but 2 starts have resulted the same for me. Being great in qualifying is ok but this car needs some help to be a contender. I want to know what the other Saar teams that are ahead of us are saying about their Saar's because I have made my point clear about this bucket of sheet metal."
Ryan's weekend was the same as Homestead. He didn't qualify for the race at Talladega but he was not surprised.
"I think a lot of people are going to want me out but my priorities are different than what some others have" Ryan said. "I am trying to gain experience as much as I can. I am not going to the track thinking I can win or score a top 5, I am going to learn and try to see if I want to be a driver."
"From what I have heard and seen, Lake Afton is a very challenging track" Ryan began. "It is very narrow and it will require a lot of patience. I am not sure how I will do but I just want to qualify and try my best to not ruin someone else's day."

Following the Fuller Farms 150k at Lake Afton, NAAC officials penalized Cassandra Collins over an unsafe pit release on lap 46, resulting in a collision with Mason Yokoyama, the penalty given was the addition of 20 seconds to Collins' total time, which means she'll still be scored as the winner, as she finished 34 seconds ahead of 2nd place Thomas Tucker. HQS Racing hasn't been approached for comments at the time of the writing of this note.
