Re: Your Ideal Cup Schedule
I could post a schedule I would like, but contract obligations would make it extreamly un-realistic. When I also think about it. I really am starting to doubt a Cup race at Montreal. I think the France's want to make it the Nationwides version of the Daytona 500. It is getting extremely popular. I don't like the way there trying to move it. But I think in the future, like in ten years or so. It will have its own weekend, Huge prize, and All the Cup Regulars would be attempting it. Road America, is starting to get boring. I belive that Nascar needs a fast open wheel road course, because tracks like Road America can't be run fast at all. Anyway here would be my overall suggestions
1. Kansas loses race
2. Homstead gets 2nd race but loses finale
3. Las Vegas gets finale, under the lights (tragically)
4. Road America gets a race
5. Sanoma gets second race
6. Watkins Glen takes a October Chase spot (My dad said it was beautiful up there in October for the old F1 Races
7. New Hampshire Finally loses a race, The chase spot
8. Kentucky is pulled
9. Michigan loses a race
10. Iowa gains a race
11. Chicago loses July Race.

Re: Your Ideal Cup Schedule
Have only restrictor plate races so Dale Jr. can win a race.
I think the only reason why Michigan has 2 races because it boosts the economy if the auto-making business is falling.

24 races, half of them on road courses.

Re: Your Ideal Cup Schedule
Get Rid of California and give it's date to Watkins Glen.
That's the only change I would make.

Re: Your Ideal Cup Schedule
Spa would NEVER happen. It'd be cool though. Most NASCAR teams wouldn't be able to get there.
Re: Your Ideal Cup Schedule
24 races.
14 road courses;
10 permanent circuits
4 temporary circuits
10 ovals;
5 traditional short ovals (Richmond and Bristol DO NOT COUNT!!!!!)
3 speedways
Indianapolis
Daytona
No tracks get repeat dates. All races in North America, with possible exception for a pair of races in Australia.
Only the Daytona 500 and the Southern 500 at Darlington are 500 mile races. The rest of them do not exceed 250.

Re: Your Ideal Cup Schedule
- Cut Homestead, California, second Pocono, first Kansas, Kentucky and second Michigan, shortening the schedule to 30 races.
- Give Texas' second date to North Wilkesboro if they can open again.
- Make it the Pocono 500 again.
- Give Phoenix's first date to either the Rock or Road America.
- Return the Southern 500 to Labor Day and give the finale back to Atlanta.
- Get rid of the Chase, but keep the new points system.
- Return to the carousel at Sonoma and maybe run the boot at the Glen.

Re: Your Ideal Cup Schedule
i really don't feel like thinking out an entire schedule, so i'll just describe it as best as i can
As far as i'm concerned, if you want to prove you have the best stock car drivers in the world, you need to make them prove it on every variety of track possible. the idea is that if you're not the "best" everywhere, then you really aren't the best. in addition to that, no repeat dates. there's no reason to watch the same race twice in one year. tracks i'd like to see on the schedule, though some come with major logistic/legal issues include:
Daytona
Rockingham
Atlanta
Darlington
Charlotte
Pocono-@500 miles
Homestead
Phoenix
Gateway
Watkins Glen
Road America
Laguna Seca
Bristol
Richmond
Martinsville
Dover
Talladega
North Wilkesboro-after some "minor" repairs
Mid Ohio
Indianapolis
Circuit of the Americas-if they actually finish it
Michigan
Loudon
Iowa
Milwaukee
Circuit Gilles Villeneuve
Myrtle Beach
Toledo
2-4 dirt tracks, possibly Eldora, DuQuoin, Knoxville, etc
note, the severe lack of tracks that are shaped identically to other tracks. atlanta and charlotte are only on the schedule for "traditional" reasons, though i wouldn't cry about losing one

Re: Your Ideal Cup Schedule
32 races, each track only gets one race.
In no particular order of schedule
Daytona (allowed to keep Bud Shootout along with 500)
Atlanta
Darlington
Charlotte (allowed to keep All-Star race along with 600)
North Wilkesboro
Rockingham
Martinsville
Richmond
Dover
Pocono
Watkins Glen
Montreal
New Hampshire
Michigan
Indy
Indy Raceway Park
Talladega
Nashville Fairgrounds
Road America
Chicago
Kansas
Bristol
Kentucky
California
Texas
Sonoma
Homestead
Phoenix
Las Vegas
Austin F1 track
Portland (the road course the Indy cars used to run on years back)
Iowa
6 road courses (makes them important, and forces drivers to learn them a little more)
7 short tracks
If a region or area wants two or more races, bring on the variety (as with Charlotte, Rockingham, and Northwilkesboro; IRP and Indy)

Re: Your Ideal Cup Schedule
keep all the tracks that have infield road courses, and use the infield road course as the second date, and any track that doesn't have a infield road course gets booted out of the schedule and is replaced with a road course.

If Nazereth was still running, and you wanted the "second date" for Dover or Pocono with my idea for a schedule, Nazereth would be the place to go

Then it would have to be named with a different acronym
ASCAR?

One or 2 more road course races I could see, but over 10?! Frankly I like Nascar on the bases that it dosent pretend to be like every other style of racing, where road courses are the norm.

+1, I don't mind watching maybe one or two road courses maybe 3 at the most, but this isn't F1 or IndyCar. We don't need more than half the schedule road courses. If anything, NASCAR should add some dirt track races or an older short track to the schedule like when NASCAR began.

They had a series called AUSCAR that died-out in 2001.Nascar9fan wrote:gwoodard41 wrote:Nascar9fan wrote:If V8 Supercars are going to America, why doesn't NASCAR comes to Australia? It be good to see them (except for Cheater I mean Kyle Busch)

That field of champions is competitive when you have a driver in ARCA of Australia aka the V8 Utes winning 5 of them. I'm referring to Kim Jane.
