Grand Prix of Indianapolis - IndyCar
The IndyCar Series kicks off the month of May at Indianapolis for the road course event. This is the lead-in for the greatest spectacle in motorsports just days away, the Indianapolis 500. Simon Pagenaud won last year's inaugural running which featured a rather scary start of the race involving Sebastien Saavedra, Carlos Munoz and Mikhail Aleshin.
The race is this Saturday at 3:30 pm.

Calling it now, since Graham Rahal actually ran well at Barber, he'll do something stupid this race.

That's like predicting the sun will rise in the east. Come on, predict something a little more bold

I predict Sebastian Saavedra will be on pole again. And not screw up the start this time (hopefully).

Couldn't come up with anything better. Besides, you really can't predict when it comes to Rahal.PYLrulz wrote:BWardboy88 wrote:Calling it now, since Graham Rahal actually ran well at Barber, he'll do something stupid this race.

True... he did almost run me over with his scooter at the garage area at Pocono last year though, so Rahal is bound to do something stupid

He seriously did that? Okay then.

As good off the track as he is on the track I see then
Will this be Dracone's last weekend in IndyCar this season then? There are seats to be filled back in AutoGP..

Yeah, was walking across from garages to where the trailers were, and in the process of crossing over, he came buzzing by out of nowhere.

Re: Grand Prix of Indianapolis - IndyCar
I don't mean to say that Rahal has been a star driver this year (his performances have not been exceptionally impressive and many drivers are faster than him), but a lot of comments have made him out to be a completely incompetent driver, and I'm not quite sure that I understand this. I thought that his general driving at Barber and some of the passes that he made were impressive.PYLrulz wrote:BWardboy88 wrote:Calling it now, since Graham Rahal actually ran well at Barber, he'll do something stupid this race.

Not trying to argue against the fact that he is inconsistent and has made too many silly mistakes as a driver, but he can perform very well from time to time, and I'm honestly surprised that he hasn't won at least once since his debut race (he has come very close). I do understand the criticism of his poor driving, but am not sure if I understand the contempt that he seems to receive whenever he does well.
Of course, my thoughts may not be substantive, and I'm open to other opinions.

Goddammit, Helio.
In other news, seriously, how the hell is Rahal actually being good now?

Power dominates the GP of Indy. Rahal collects his second straight 2nd place. Montoya increases his points lead over Helio.
Re: Grand Prix of Indianapolis - IndyCar
Alright race. GW Power
Is it just me are was production on ABC's part awful this race?

Re: Grand Prix of Indianapolis - IndyCar
IMO, it was a rather lackluster race. Good win Power. And I think Rahal is starting to become a competent driver. However I'm not convinced yet. A 4.0/10.

Re: Grand Prix of Indianapolis - IndyCar
There may not have been much of a fight for the lead, but I thought that there was some pretty good racing over the course of the event. I cannot wait for the Indianapolis 500 festivities to begin!
It's nice to see another great race run by Rahal; Power's Chevrolet is the only one that he finished behind, and considering how dominant Power was this weekend and how fast the Chevy's were in general, he wasn't very far behind.
