Kobalt 400
Welcome to the 3rd race of the year! Jimmie and Logano have already won in 2015, and guys like Junebug, Harvick, Gordon etc... are looking for their first win and qualify for the chase! Last time we came here, Brad Keselowski won after Dale Earnhardt Jr, lost fuel at the end, finishing 2nd, and 2013 had a great finish, between Kahne and winner Kenseth. Former winners Carl Edwards and Jimmie are really great here, along with Kenseth who may have a great race.

But then if he crashed his fan base will go out typically and blame someone who was an innocent victim in the wreck.
Re: Kobalt 400
Jeff Gordon sustained some damage in final practice, and will go to a backup! He will start from the rear on raceday.
David Ragan will join him, maybe Danica too?

Re: Kobalt 400
Nice brakes Gordon, now my bet is his fans will blame Jeb Burton for reacting to Johnson.

Talk about his day doing a complete 180.Lucstar88 wrote:Jimmie's done with his second tire failure of the day.

Re: Kobalt 400
Looks like Furniture Row Racing are back on track, and kudos to Carl Edwards for owning up to the incident with Kahne.
Re: Kobalt 400
My thoughts on the Kobalt 400:
Ehhhhh....
This one's kind of tough to judge, because there were some painfully boring sections of this race, and there were parts that were actually pretty interesting, so quite the mixed bag this race was, although some of it was a carbon copy of Atlanta, with Logano starting out strong, and then Johnson and Harvick taking over middle and late. The difference this time is that Johnson had all sorts of problems with the right front that took him out of contention (thank goodness, LOLJimme'sTire), but Harvick was the one that really made some of this race a challenge to watch, and quite frankly, I think he's a Grade-A douchebag, so... yeah, didn't enjoy seeing him win this race, but at the very least, I'll give him a little bit of credit for putting on a dominating performance.
The Edwards and Kahne incident made me chuckle. At least Edwards owned up to it.
Awesome runs by Truex and Allmendinger once again. Those two have really started out extremely well this season, with both notching top 10's and Truex in particular getting the runner-up spot, and a nice run for Newman as well. Jrrr finished fourth, but I'm not too keen on the two tire call. But it's three straight top fives to open 2015, so I think win #1 of the season is coming soon for Jr.
Also, I'm a bit surprised by the number of tires that got away from pit crews during green flag stops during this race. These guys develop butterfingers or something?
The race got interesting near the end for me when Jr. powered by Harvick on the restart, so that was cool to see, although it ended kind of abruptly. The crazy fuel strategy was interesting as well, but once it cycled out, it was all Harvick to the end, which resulted in a lackluster finish. Oh, well, it is what it is.
My final rating for the Kobalt 400 @ Las Vegas:
This one is kinda hard to give a rating for, since it was a below average race, but I'll go ahead and go on my Bret Hart shit and give it a 4.0/10. It was below average at best, but at least it had a lot more cool moments than Atlanta, so that's a plus at least.
Overall, the start to this season has been kind of underwhelming, to say the least. The next race is at Phoenix, but I'm fairly concerned that race will turn into another Harvick-teabag-everybody show, considering how dominate he's been there the last couple of years and how strong the 4 team seems to be coming off their championship, so my excitement for next week's race is a bit reserved.

It was a bit better than Atlanta though, but it's not saying much either.
Re: Kobalt 400
Really lackluster race. But I can't complain. I'm getting free Bloomin' Onions tomorrow.
GW Harvick. Shout out to Truex, Jr. and Allmendinger for their respective Top 5 finishes as well.

Better race than Atlanta, but still. And Harvick had the car all day yesterday. A 4.5/10.
