AAA 400 - Sprint Cup Series
The 3rd race in the Chase will be at the Monster Mile in Dover, Delaware! Coming into this race, Tony Stewart has won the last 2 races, and has taken the points lead! The 5-time champion Jimmie Johnson however, has struggled the first 2 races, and is now behind by 29 points. Dover is one of Johnson's best race tracks, with 6 wins, 8 top 5's, and 13 top 10's. Since 2005, Johnson has finished no worse than 16th. Can Tony Stewart hold on to his points lead? Can 5-time Jimmie make a comeback? Will we see the likes of Brad Keselowski and Kevin Harvick sneak their way to the front? Tune in this Sunday at 2pm EST only on ESPN!

I'll be honest. This is the gauge for Johnson. If doesn't finish in the top 10 here (as much as I don't want him too, lol), he's done.
That being said, Johnson and Busch are the obvious picks here. However, I'd watch out of A.J. he's been good here.

Can someone please inform me, why these chase races are starting at 2pm and not at 1pm.

Football. I guess they figure that starting at 1 would be bad, since you would directly compete with the start of a football game. I figure at 2, if a game is starting to get out of hand, one could change the channel and catch the start of the race

Re: AAA 400 - Sprint Cup Series
i can tell you the entire race right here: jimmie johnson wins in front of about ten fans. So what if thev track is awesome, the chase race has had only one winner in the past few years and nobody cares about the sport in delaware.
Re: AAA 400 - Sprint Cup Series
I really think kenseth has a good chance to win this weekend. Johnson is gonna have be pretty much flawless for the rest of the chase if he wants to have a chance at six in a row.

Re: AAA 400 - Sprint Cup Series
martin truex really seems to own this track in qualifying... if only this guy had race trim which is just as worthy.
The way i see it, the lead pack is down to eleven. Let's see how the emptystands speedway can treat the drivers
side note, if i ever go to one of the races at dover i wanna sit in a usually empty section and have a fullout barbeque :3

Two things. First, Truex Jr. won here in 2007, so he does know race trim, justs needs the equipment to win. Second, don't go picking on Dover, even though it's been a few follow the leader races the last couple years, it's normally a pretty exciting track. And yes, while there are some empty grandstands, remember they might not sell tickets in all areas. I've been to races there where they didn't sell any tickets in an area on purpose.

Dover used to be really fun for me, but it's kinda changed in my opinion. I don't even think they sell tickets for turns 3 and 4. I would love to be in those suite-bridges in turns 2 and 3, though.flyingturns89 wrote:TheRacingExperts wrote:martin truex really seems to own this track in qualifying... if only this guy had race trim which is just as worthy.

The bridges really do obstruct to view alot when your sitting in turn 2 & 3, so im not surprised if they purposly dont see tickets in those areas.Chives2112 wrote:Dover used to be really fun for me, but it's kinda changed in my opinion. IMO, Dover won't be on the schedule in 2015. All its sister tracks have closed or are closing, I wonder how the company is doing. Of course though they promote Dover which was and is there worst track, and their good tracks, Gateway and Nashville don't get anything.

Save The Fairgrounds! (the oval Nashville = )
Doesn't Dover Motorsports own the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach, because I got a track program from Gateway in 2005 that showed all of the tracks they owned. That might've changed, though.

Nashville, a good track? Are you kidding me? The racing there was dull as dishwater, except when IndyCars were there. I'd rather go back to the Fairgrounds, where the racing was at least close.
