- Spoiler:
- Giuseppe Marchetti takes first victory
Following two difficult races where neither FIAM Engineering cars were able to score any points, reigning NRC champion Giuseppe Marchetti was able to take advantage of the reverse grid in race 3 where he would go on to capture a deserved first win for the Milan based manufacturer FIAM.
Giuseppe Marchetti started on the outside of the first row, dropping back to third in the early corners. However a collision between Lonnie Collins and Thomas de Bock allowed the Italian to overtake the Belgian driver around the outside before the Italian slipped through on the inside of Collins. He was forced to pull out to avoid an unwanted mistake, however Collins slowed up allowing the Italian back inside of her as he would go all the way and onward to victory.
Marchetti was clearly ecstatic on his victory as he was seen celebrating wildly with his team, commenting that it was the "best thing (he'd) done since Friday night". Although he was seemingly not all too impressed with the victory stating that "the Dash Cup officials should consult (him) about the champagne next time".
(OOC: Sorry, couldn't help myself )
- Spoiler:
- FIAM reassures confidence in Motoko
Former TM Lights race winner Sakura Motoko has endured a very difficult start to her Dash Cup career, however the newly appointed Director of Motorsport at FIAM, replacing Alessandro Rossini who has taken a much smaller position within the company due to his new Volpi commitments, Francois Boullion has publicly defended the Japanese driver.
"It's a large transition to move from the US to Europe, she hasn't driven many of these circuits and so far she has had a couple of good results. We hope that she can be more consistent in the future and that she becomes calmer, we know that with time she could become a top driver here at FIAM," commented Boullion.
"This is her second season in a FIAM car, last year wasn't great but we she was good on occasions with us. There is no doubt in our mind that she will replicate her TM Lights performances and she should not have any concerns about her job safety. We have a contract in place and we shall respect it."
Motoko previously commented in the TM Lights in 2012, winning at Mosport and eventually finishing 5th at the end of the season. She joined the FIAM Formula Overdrive team in 2013 however a couple of Top 10's including a 4th were all she could celebrate at the end of it.

Re: Round 4 - Mallory Park GP
Carter given 1 second time penalty for race 1, Percy given 0.5 second penalty, Cassie Collins given win
In a controversial move by the Dash Cup officials, they have decided to hand Tanya Carter a second penalty and Hannah Percy a 5 tenths of a second penalty, giving the win to the car that crossed the line third, Cassandra Collins.
Provisionally, Carter was the winner of the race, but because of the fashion in which she passed Percy, she was given a 1 second penalty, but it does not end there. It was shown on the telemetry of Percy's car that Percy got back into the gas and intentionally drove into the door of Tanya Carter, which forced Carter to hit the inside wall. Percy had initially finished 2nd, but will have to settle for third.
With the penalty, Cassie Collins becomes the first driver to win without leading a single lap, and it is also her fourth career win. Ironically, her win comes with the protests of the car she will be driving next year, Hannah Percy. Collins also jumps into the top 10 in points, while Hannah Percy's points lead is cut to 34.
