Re: Race 13 (Watkins Glen Twin 150k's)
- Spoiler:
- Bruce Wilkinson Injured In Accident with Bigsby Foote
After having spun the car in the bus stop, Bruce Wilkinson parked it, and climbed out. He was reported to have moaned of a headache and back pain. He was rushed to a care center, and further diagnosed with a concussion, whiplash, and a bruised knee.
While injury is quite uncommon in motorsport today, safety workers went into further examination of the first run-in with Bigsby Foote. Upon examination of the car, workers noticed damage to the left A-pillar and much of the left side of the car. Bruce was also complaining of an itchy neck early in the race. Taking a look at footage shot from Wilkinson's cockpit during the race, workers concluded that the head and neck restraints may not have been secured properly. A harder hit to Wilkinson's car may have made the injuries much worse. Interestingly enough, Wilkinson did not complain of injury at all following the first wreck with Bigsby Foote, leading up to the spin late in the race.
Our reporters were not able to catch up with Bruce after Race 1, but he is expected to appear at the press conference on Monday, and race again next week.

- Spoiler:
- [/b]Morales sore after hard hit.[/b]
After walking out of the infield care center, Morales wasn't really much of a talker. The only thing he said was "some people have the sophomore slump, we're the poster child." Morales now sits 59th in points.

Re: Race 13 (Watkins Glen Twin 150k's)
- Spoiler:
- Recarmier edging ever closer to the championship lead
Rene Recarmier had penalties from Waltham which caused him to start from the back of the pack. Then,as you might ask,why would he be fighting for pole in qualifying?
"To get the points.I know there are points at end of qualifying for fast driver,so why not?"
When the race started,Recarmier was showing his qualifying speed by moving up 10 places within 3 laps. However,a few laps later when Recarmier was running 15th,he got into Derek Dudding and took some damage.Later,he spun off the road, ending hopes of a top 10.
"That Derek Pudding car really is son of a bi*ch.Yes,I learn that term from America TV.When I try go low into turn,he cut me off. Then, after turn,he went real slow.So slow I have no time to react. That damage force my right front inward, which is why I spun off later."
Despite all this,Recarmier is still closing in on championship leader Kevin Monroe, just 49 points back.
Summers disapproves of rumors in best way possible
Your'e in your rookie season.Your'e driving for a great team, but you have had a very on and off season. There are rumors that the team wants to get rid of you.So what will you do?
Phil Summers disspelled all of those rumors by finishing in 6th,avoiding all the attrition in Watkins Glen.
Summers, after leaping out of the car,he said:"You know those rumors about me leaving Grease Burger?Well f*** those rumors cause I'm staying, baby!WOO!"

Re: Race 13 (Watkins Glen Twin 150k's)
- Spoiler:
- Patriot Racing shows the Glen 'what for' but the track asked 'wanna bet?'
Patriot Racing showed that they had cars and drivers to contend with in the ARLA series, however, as luck would not be on the side of Barry Spengler, both drivers were still able to finish the race with Kelly Splison finishing 12th after starting 41st and Barry finishing 2 laps down after being in two collisions and suffering from loose handling in 33rd.
Gerald Lamb had only comments about the cars being mechanically sound for the level of funding that is put into the series, and he hopes that if the two drivers can show decency throughout the remainder of the season, they may be able to be in the series next year.

Re: Race 13 (Watkins Glen Twin 150k's)
- Spoiler:
- Harrison apologizes for collision with Morales
Last season Amy Harrison and Scott Morales battled it out for the rookie of the year award, and was proved to be one of the best in the series' history. On lap 5 of the 2nd race at the Glen, Amy Harrison's car drifted into Morales' #76 sending him into a skid down the track. This was from Harrison's radio directly after the incident took place.
"Aww crap... Listen guys, before the 76 team gets mad at me tell them I'm sorry, the car is tight and very difficult to drive today."
Then the postrace comments:
"I talked it over with Scott and thankfully we've resolved this issue. It was the beginning of the race, and everyone was just dogging for all the track position they could get, it was just an unfortunate result of that."
Oddly enough, she was asked her opinion on the Dudding vs Recarmier incident:
"I know Rene lost some spots on the track for that incident; but he's won my respect, if he hasn't done so already. How he has never stepped foot into a stock car and is driving this well is beyond me. I honestly forgot Dudding was even racing this weekend since he hasn't been seen in awhile."
Harrison now sits 30th in the points with only a handful of races to go.

Re: Race 13 (Watkins Glen Twin 150k's)
- Spoiler:
- Savage 'Very Happy' with 3rd-Place
"We've had a rough season, but today was fantastic. Our focus in the practices was to get a setup that I was really comfortable with, and it took awhile, but we were able to find one that was pretty quick." Savage told reporters in an interview just after the race.
When asked if the attrition contributed to Savage's high finish, Savage replied, "Well, yes and no. I'd say yes because it took out some of the competitors, but no because I think we proved what we were capable of when we shot up to 3rd from 6th at the end."
Savage collected his second top-5 of the season with his 3rd place finish at Watkins Glen.

- Spoiler:
- CAM IMPRESSED WITH PERFORMANCE @ THE GLEN
After missing out on the 150 of Dwyer, the Carcia Aragon machine of #728 Nikos Kastapolous got it's best career finish, racking up a thirteenth place run 38 seconds behind the leader.
"All in all, we stayed away from the wrecks," said Kastapolous after the race, "Our key was to make sure we didn't get in those situations, and we would get some good results. The two races at road courses where this was successful got us 17th and 13th place finishes, so that certainly says something about our team's potential."
This is it for the team until Rockford in 2011.

Shane Lake talks about new car, commentators
Shane lake climbed out fo the #82D and had this to say - "Well this ol hot rod was pretty good today..probably coulda been better but Im just getting the feel for it so it might take a while but a decent run here none the less."
What about being called "The hottest free agent in 2012, according to yourself?"
"Well I really never said that. I just said I had alot of offers and it feels good to be wanted. Allie [Riggs] said I was the hottest...even if it was in sarcasm."

Jeremy West ecstatic with top 5 at The Glen
JW: "I've known that we've had a fast car all year we have just been bitten by either mechanical issues or accidents all season. When we haven't been taken out we've had decent runs. For the team I think the run at The Glen was definately a boost to our team. Personally I'm glad I was finally able to keep a god run going. A few weeks ago we were in second and our car stalled and took us out of contention. As that race played out I likely could have won that race at Mosport. We are still planning on running next season. We just haven't had any more details than we have released."
