I gotta say, I'm pleased with this class.

While I think Elliott may have been put in a bit early, I pleased with this class.

I'm really fine with this new class, altough I did expected to Wendell Scott, Fred Lorenzen and Bill Elliott to have appeared way earlier than they indeed did.

Wow, I didn't know Elliott was even eligible yet, since it took him a million years to completely retire.

I think the rule is 3 years, which is the length of time between his induction and his last race (2012 Coke Zero 400)

They also added some new eligibility rules last year. They state that any driver who has competed for at least 10 years and is at least 55 years old, or has competed for at least 30 years, is automatically eligible to be nominated, regardless of if they are still competing or not. This is only for drivers though.
