Kyle has never won a Las Vegas Nationwide race. Expect 864 mentions of "KYLE BUSCH HAS NEVER WON IN HIS HOMETOWN, except for that one Cup race in '09"Lucstar88 wrote:Well... Kyle Busch actually has a bad average finish here, like his brother
Re: Boyd Gaming 300
Brad wins, Ky. Busch second, Kyle Larson third, DAYLE in 4th and Chase Elliott 5th....
Meh... This race was lackluster... and Dale Jarrett & Jeff Burton thinking that cuppies should stay... How bout no.

Re: Boyd Gaming 300
Same abysmal race. Same cars running in the top 5. Same regulars running behind cup drivers and fighting for the"6th place championship". Same drivers in underfunded cars getting overlooked. Same ESPN doing damaging control for Nascar "Saying it's good for the series." (Apparently that rumor over limiting the cuppies turned out false)
When does the buck stop for Nascar, It's a serious problem when the the cup drivers absolute outrun the best of the regulars by over 15 seconds to a laps and the rest of the guys are 2-5 laps behind. It's a legitimate problem when the series is starting to look like ARCA, It's understandable since at worst there is one 1-2 teams back by cup teams while the rest of the big teams are ARCA only....But Nationwide is supposed to be Nascar's secondary series, the final stretch to making your dreams of being in the cup series a reality...Now it looks like a underfunded series with a bunch of heavily back teams that are leading the pack. It's gonna bite Nascar sooner rather than later.
I'll continue to watch the series just to see guys like Brain Scott, Chase Eillott, Regan Smith and others show there is still bright spots of unrecognized talent in the series (Regan Smith's case to get another shot at cup) but this "We want Cup drivers only" mentality stuff needs to end and soon, It's damaging the sport at this point.

I didn't even bother watching this race, nor did I watch the Phoenix race. That should tell you my interest level in the Nationwide Series right now.

Not that it really matters anymore since this is their final year covering the series. 2015 can't come soon enough.

The buck stops when the sponsors stop putting cup drivers on this pedestal and treat drivers in the lower series like second rate crap (I'm looking at you, Dollar General).
Re: Boyd Gaming 300
Chase Elliott has failed post-race tech...
P2 in the penalty book = 10 points, 5K-10K fine. (Likely Penalty) (Too Low)
EDIT : The 22 had the right rear shock taken by NASCAR... no announcement yet, Penalties likely announced on Wednesday

Even worse since ESPN, at least when it comes to promoting the races, always features Nationwide regulars in the commercials.
NASCAR I think is in a serious need of an overhaul

It's a no win situation that's not as easy to fix, cause if you did remove cup guys from most races (I am for it), you'd still have the issue of only 5-10 comeptitive teams. (The 3,9,7,2,31,33,54 Hornish, 22 R Blaney.) I think the series slowly got saturated with mediocre development driver rejects (Josh Wise, Matt DiBennedeto, etc...etc...) after 06 and it's really ruined the quality of the racing
What I am trying to say is, the Talent pool is the real issue here. What few good drivers we've had have moved up to cup (Justin Allgaier, Austin Dillon, Kyle Larson, Ricky Stenhouse)

Burton's as big a phony NASCAR kiss-ass as DW. Why every journalist went to him first I don't know, since he spewed the same corporate crap NASCAR does.Lucstar88 wrote:Spannerhead29 (Nelson) wrote:What?Lucstar88 wrote:Brad wins, Ky. That's kinda bull... because the medium drivers, have too stay with the shitty rides because all the cuppies are there. If JGR actually developed drivers, they would have a chance, but since all the good seats are taken by Cup Drivers, no chance they can prove themselves, That's why i like JRM, Junior actually develops drivers, like Brad K, Chase, Cole Whitt, etc... yes he may have Harvick running half the schedule but Dale keeps it balanced, His team may not of won a title in NNS, but this year with Regan & Chase, they have a legitimate shot. Also, Brad would've won in 09 if the cuppies (Denny Hamlin being a cunt like always) were limited. I don't want to ban cuppies, but limit them to 10 races per year, or like Dale does, 4-5 races per year, and i won't complain...
Re: Boyd Gaming 300
I think a lot of it has to do with who the Cuppie is. I guarantee no one raised a stink when Mark Martin did it, but since it's Kyle and Brad everyone has to be up in arms about it. Either way, Cuppies in the series are ridiculous, but you can't tell me that because it's Kyle Busch it doesn't exacerbate the problem.

I've posted this point before. Back when Mark Martin was doing it, you only had about up to 5 Cup guys racing in the Busch series, and even then, with the exception of Mark Martin, they'd usually be riding Busch only equipment, not equipment owned by Cup owners.
For instance
1995
Mark Martin drove for Roush
Michael Waltrip drove for Bahari
however...
Mike Wallace drove for Barry Owen (a Busch only owner)
Dale Jarrett drove his own cars
Ken Schrader drove his own cars
Jimmy Spencer drove for Dick Moroso
Terry Labonte drove his own cars
Joe Nemechek drove his own cars (then again, he did have his own Cup team at that time too, but it wasn't Roush level)
Ricky Craven drove his own cars
Morgan Shepherd drove his own cars
Bobby Hillin drove for Dick Moroso
Factor in that at most, Martin and Labonte drove near 20 races, and most everybody else FAR less, the Busch guys had an actual chance more times than not
