2013 AAA Texas 500 - Sprint Cup Series
Last year's event saw some beatin' and bangin' on the track between Jimmie Johnson and Brad Keselowski, the main drivers battling it out for the championship this year. Maybe with the Gen-6 car, this could produce great racing as it usually does towards the end of the season.

Re: 2013 AAA Texas 500 - Sprint Cup Series
Admittedly, I'm not really looking forward to this race, based on the fact that Texas is garbage.
But maybe I'll be surprised, and the championship battle should be at least somewhat entertaining.
At least, I hope so.

Surprisingly, that wasn't the case. I guess some rubber worked into the track and improved the wear. Hmm.Lucstar88 wrote:Good Job, Goodyear, screwing Gordon & pretty much going to decide who wins this title...

But regardless, that was a terrible race, of course not really surprised at that considering this track's recent history. Jimmiewinslol and Junior finishes 2nd again, and if you're keeping track at home, that's three runner-up finishes in the last six races and fifth overall this season. On the other hand, if Junior hadn't had that engine failure at Chicagoland, he'd probably be right in the thick of the championship right now, because he's had a pretty solid Chase. Still pretty tight for the championship, and it's looking like it could come down to Homestead before we find out who the champ is. Hopefully, the last two races will be more entertaining than this shitfest.
The 2013 AAA 500 @ Texas gets a 2.5/10.

Re: 2013 AAA Texas 500 - Sprint Cup Series
I didn't watch. I guess it's a good thing. The fact that Texas has a place in the Chase, let alone a spot on the calendar, is a total joke.
On a "can you really be that stupid" note, some dumbass on Twitter actually thinks there'd be more gas in the world if NASCAR didn't "waste" it. If anyone wants to troll him, I'll give you his handle.

Does anyone still think we should have 12 races a year at 1.5 mile high banked tri-ovals? Or for that matter, does anyone still think that it was totally worth giving up Rockingham for this track?
