2013 Airtel Indian Grand Prix - Formula 1
This is likely the weekend where Sebastian Vettel joins Michael Schumacher and Juan Manuel Fangio as the only men in F1 history to win four World Drivers' Championships in a row. And make it only four four-time WDCs period, with Vettel joining Schumacher, Fangio, and Alain Prost (with Schumi and JMF having seven and five titles, respectively).
Vettel has led every lap in both Indian Grands Prix. Will someone put an end to that? Will this be the last Indian Grand Prix ever, with the race not being held next year, and Bernie trying to find an early 2015 date? At least that first question can be answered this weekend.
Fun fact: The commentary boxes at the circuit have no windows, and are apparently not at the circuit.

Sounds like something a 3rd world country hosting an F1 race would do.crl wrote:Fun fact: The commentary boxes at the circuit have no windows, and are apparently not at the circuit.

And now, the third practice is being held up by smog that's preventing the medical helicopter from taking off. Having a race in India is SUCH a great idea...

I still think they should have a GP in North Korea but nobody listens to my awesome ideas.crl wrote:And now, the third practice is being held up by smog that's preventing the medical helicopter from taking off. Having a race in India is SUCH a great idea...
It'll be better than India, that's for sure.

And to the surprise of probably 3-4 people, Vettel has the pole. Rosberg will start second and Lewis Hamilton will start third.

Pirelli is using the 2012 tires, and has been doing so for quite some time... the same tires Perez got a few podiums with. Not so shocking, now is it?navycook75 wrote:>Hulkenburg 7th

So much smog, it makes L.A. look like Downtown Nashville (there's no smog here in Music City, USA; at least not downtown, anyway).

Vettel gets them quad titles.
Nice to see a Nascar-esque celebration in F1, Although that is probably a big no-no in the FIA's books.

Conor Daly did the same thing in GP3 and only got a reprimand. I wouldn't expect much else.Alta wrote:Vettel gets them quad titles.

Good win Vettel and good championship.
Why is it that Red Bull can only build one good and reliable car?

Vetted is the best driver in F1. No one will ever deny that.

Didn't have respect for them anyway when they continue to do costly pit strategies like in Japan.RealRacer4 wrote:I never watched the race, but my respect for Lotus has been thrown out the window.

Re: 2013 Airtel Indian Grand Prix - Formula 1
With Massa right behind them ready to take that podium. Lotus are still in the fight for at least 3rd in the WCC. It was honestly a bit silly of Kimi to fight Grosjean like that - there was no way in hell he'dve kept Grosjean behind him unless he took him off.Alta wrote:In fairness to Lotus...Kimi just wrecked about Grosjean.RealRacer4 wrote:I never watched the race, but my respect for Lotus has been thrown out the window.

Unfortunately, rumours have broken that Maldonado might actually take the seat due to his €20m sponsorship backing. If Lotus do not organise an investor, a group called "Quantum Motorsport", they will be forced to take Maldonado's money.Milan655 wrote:Only LotusBWardboy88 wrote:That would be Lotus.
