Another short track top 5 for Nelson
Robert Nelson gets his 4th Top-5 for the season at Karl's SuperStore, but not without controversy, after nearly getting taken out by the lapped car of Allie Riggs late in the race while running 2nd. Robert was able to get the damage repaired during the red flag for the G-W-C, and was able to pick off two spots on the penultimate lap, and nearly got by Herbie Finkleberg for 2nd. Robert now moves into the top 40 in points, in 38th position. The team's next race is the California 150.

- Webster Extremely Upset After Riverside
Another great qualifying effort, another onslaught of bad luck hit the #23 SuperCharged Energy team once again in the Karl's Superstore 225. After starting the race in 3rd, Webster moved up to 2nd after a few laps and was looking to run down Bobby Porteau. A few laps later, Webster was rudely put into the tire wall off of turn 2 by eventual race winner Seiju Dejao. Laps later, Webster would be collected in a crash that took himself, Daniel Diamond, and Kasie Campbell out of the race. Webster would finish 13th of 17 cars that started in his race.
Webster was very upset after the race.
"You know, I understand we are racing for 3rd and all of that, but he [Dejao] had the run on me. He would have had me cleared easily down into turn 3 if he just held his line, but I guess that would have been to easy for him. I don't know what was going on to the left of him, you know, I also don't know what was going on inside his car. This track is one tenth of a mile long... Spotter couldn't have had a problem seeing only that far. "Car outside" would be a nice thing to say in that situation. I always have looked up to and thought very highly of Kurt Walker and his team while I was still only a spectator of this sport, and I still do look very highly of him. It's just a shame that I got put in the tire wall when Dejao would have had me cleared anyway down the back and into turn 3.
Webster also extended his apologies to Diamond and Campbell.
"My car was complete junk after getting into the wall. I was just trying to do the best I could with it and stay out of the faster cars' way when I could. We all just ran out of room off of turn 2 and I got into the left rear of Diamond. I guess just like I have my reasons to be upset with Dejao, they have their reasons to be upset with me."
Webster has picked up DNFs in all three of his starts better than 11th.
Webster will be participating in the next three weekends in a row at California, Carbondale, and Salem.

Mediocre day for Trey Ashby
Trey Ashby wrecked out of the Superstore 225 and took out a furious Jon Halks. "I don't have much of an excuse for my driving today. I made a stupid mistake and I'll try to fix it. I'm sorry" When asked about being charged by Halks, he said this "I didn't do it on purpose, ok! I don't know what Halks thinks but if he wants to go at it, FINE! He can talk with me whenever he wants to, in both ways."
Ashby wouldn't say much else before heading back to his trailer.

- Zins unapollogetic after dumping Barton Sandy in Race 3
While surprisingly quiet following the Karl's Superstore 225, Zachary Zins would make a rant on his New World Orphans website about Barton Sandy showing up to race. The post in full cannot be posted due to its racist tone, however it did state that Zins had purposefully dumped Sandy. No word from the officials if any penalties will be assessed.

Struggles Continue for #12 Team
In what can only be described as a disappointing season for the Brinson Engineering team continues to sour after a rough day in the Riverside, CA Karl's Superstore. An early accident put an end to driver Trey Ashby's day and the struggles only continue for the #12 team.
Brinson: You know, you really try and soldier on each week but when you end up tearing up a race car after every race, it really puts a damper on team spirits. I can't really be mad at Trey, because I know he's a very capable driver but he made a massive mistake that put an end to our day. He's mad, I'm mad, we're all pretty heated at the way that our season has panned out. We talked things over, I got him calmed down but he knows he was at fault. The kid has so much potential but it really doesen't help when luck isn't on your side.
We'll keep going at it but the fact of the matter is that right now, we're simply in damage control mode.

Leapin' Lizards! Tyler Vaults To 2nd In Points With Win
Rip Tyler finally got the proverbial "monkey off his back" by winning the 2nd race at the Karl's Superstore 225 at Riverside. Tyler clearly had the dominant car on the track today in Race #2-- if not the entire event. This marks the 2012 champion's first win since Orange County last season. Tyler had seen teammates Bigsby Foote and Libby Bell win races already this season. After a slow start, Tyler's win gives both PSI and Lycoia 4 wins this years already.
"I was wondering when it would happen," stated an elated Tyler. "But I never lost faith in my team or my abilities. Unlike the early part of the season, we've managed to right the ship a bit."
Tyler's season is beginning to mirror that of last season's championship run.
"Good things happen when you keep plugging away," Tyler said.
By virtue of scoring maximum points, Rip Tyler jumped back into championship contention. He pulled to within 25 points of overall points leader Taylor Brillon, who suffered her 3rd DNF early on into the 3rd race. Tyler is heating up his championship push just as Brillion is beginning to cool off.
Bell Blasts Enola
Libby Bell was more than a little annoyed at Harry S. Enola at the conclusion of Race #1 of the Karl's Superstore 225 at Riverside.
"He cut my tire plain and simple," a fiery Bell stated in a accusatory tone. "I've executed the bump and run maneuver several times without puncturing anyone's tires. He did it on purpose. Either that or he doesn't know what the hell he's doing and that's even worse if you ask me."
When asked what Bell thought of Enola's execution on the track, Bell quipped, "I'm all for it!"
Bell rallied from being a lap down to finish in 4th place but that was little consolation to Bell, who like Rip Tyler, started on the outside of row one.
"What he did was dangerous. I was just lucky we were on such a small track this time. I had a better car than him today, so I guess he thought his best bet was to force me into an unscheduled pit stop while I was leading the race."
Foote Stepped On, Crashed Out
Bigsby Foote had started the Karl's Superstore 225 at Riverside in 17th place, well back in the field when compared to his other PSI teammates. Foote quickly began marching his way to the front of the field using both skill and 3 cautions to his advantage. Foote had worked his way as high up as 5th place when he became a casualty of Caution #4. A 4 wide situation ended when the #82 of Lev Azarov forced Foote into the tire barrier.
"I watched the replay," a despondent Foote related. "I turned Kiriki Hetsuno, yes, but what's not being talked about is the fact that the #46 of Nick Azure forced me into the #707."
"It really sucks because I may have been the only one in Race #2 with anything for Rip tonight."
When all was said and done when the Karl's Superstore 225 had been completed, Tyler was 2nd in the championship, 25 points back. Bell and Foote still remain a threat. Bell is the only PSI driver with multiple wins this season and sits 11th in the standings 101 points back. Foote dropped into 16th place, 150 points back.
Not bad for a team everyone left for dead after failing to get 6 cars into the Stars & Stripes 776 race. PSI has rallied once again after that "failure of epic proportions" as dubbed by owner William Power.
