F1 : Grand Prix of CANADA!
Welcome Back F1, last time N.Rosberg won his 2nd race, & his 1st Monaco race like his papa.
Interesting Fact : Lewis Hamilton has 3 wins here while R.Grosjean has a average Finish of 2nd!!!
S.Vettal has a 21 point lead on Kimi.
Last Year, Lewis Hamilton won as I mentioned his 3rd @ Montreal.
The podium was filled with R.Grosjean & Sergio Perez
Race is Sunday

Those overhead shots of Île Notre-Dame make me want to cry. It's so beautiful. ;_;
Re: F1 : Grand Prix of CANADA!
Two surprising names, Grosjean and Di Resta 19th and 16th. Grosjean will have to start last anyway with his 10 place grid penalty.
Re: F1 : Grand Prix of CANADA!
Both McLaren's out from Q2, both Toro Rosso's into Q3, so is Bottas and Sutil.

Two-spot grid penalties for Raikkonen and Ricciardo over the violation at the restart of Q2 (not being lined up in the proper order).

Maybe we should replace him with a person from some third world country for a large amount of cash.navycook75 wrote:He's getting old.Metro 6r4 wrote:Bernie saying that Montreal is getting old. GTFO!

Marshal was run over in the pits when they were towing Guiterrez's car back. Airlifted and in critical condition.

The story has since been updated to state that the marshal died. Sad day.

Giedo van der Garde has been hit with a 5-spot grid penalty for Silverstone for the incident with Hulkenberg, which will make him the first driver in F1 history to start a race behind the Medical Car.

What happened exactly between those two? I can't recall it.

Hulkenberg laps Giedo into the braking zone of the chicane, and moves to the outside of the circuit where Van Der Garde was. Would have blamed that on Hulkenberg instead...
And RIP to the Marshall who died, strange circumstances..

Good. He also chopped off Webber in the harpin before the backstretch several laps before.crl wrote:Giedo van der Garde has been hit with a 5-spot grid penalty for Silverstone for the incident with Hulkenberg, which will make him the first driver in F1 history to start a race behind the Medical Car.

Webber came from a long way back, can't blame it all on Giedo.

How? VDG made room for him on entry, Webber was right up alongside him, and they made contact on corner exit. There is no way VDG didn't know he was there.

Damnit F1! Why you have to be lackluster. >Spannerhead29 (Nelson) wrote:>youAlta wrote:Contender for best race of the year incoming. Body is ready.
The Van Der Guardrail - Webber wreck was all all VDG. VDG Came down big time and had Webber moved to the right any further he would've been doing donuts in the grass.

This is how I saw it: Giedo saw Webber approaching, initially makes way for him but believes Webber is too far away so takes his racing line instead, unfortunately Webber does make his way down the inside and they collide. Sure he was at fault, but I really don't think it is worthy of a penalty. Even worse, the penalty was given for the Hulkenberg incident which I 100% think is Nico's mistake.

Re: F1 : Grand Prix of CANADA!
Maybe it's because this was the first full F1 race I've been able to watch this year, but I found the race really enjoyable. Vettel massacred the field though, and with good timing considering Kimi had another bad race. Was glad to see JEV run so well and Force India score double points in their 100th GP.

Webber was right up alongside him through the corner, though. Maybe he didn't know he was there - I'm still skeptical about this because Webber was scrambling over the kerb right next to VDG, but if so, that's still incredibly bad spatial awareness on VDG's part, and still worthy of a penalty. He's being lapped - a collision between drivers fighting for position is one thing, but a driver turning in on another driver's front wing, a driver who is lapping him - that is just inexcusable.
