What would make a GREAT NASCAR game?
I was playing NASCAR 06, and it had me thinking, What would make a GREAT NASCAR game?
I miss Owner Mode...
Things i would put.
1. Owner Mode should return
2. A Career Mode that doesn't suck (NASCAR 08,09 = WORST EVER)3. A Franchise/Dynasty Mode which creates new drivers/sponsors/teams
4. Real Drivers switching rides after a contract/start a team
Add Some of your ideas!!

Re: What would make a GREAT NASCAR game?
-The crash realism from Codemasters
-The car physics of nr2003 (the way the cars behave, flips etc)
-The detailed tracks and surroundings from Forza/Gran Turismo
-A career mode that allows you to work up the ranks from short track driver to Nascar (sprint cars, street stocks, legends, trucks, whelen mods, nationwide etc)
-A painting mode identical to the GIMP/PSP software
-A make your own track feature (that doesn't suck)
-Updates that come each year renewing the cars and schedules (instead of having to buy the same damn game again)
-One-off events. For example having the Indy 500 or maybe Le Mans, similar to the Le Mans event that occurs each year on Race Driver The Grid.
-Bonuses for winning championships, races and one-off events. For example Unlocking the 1965 Nascar season complete with cars and tracks.

1. Owner Mode should return [I agree.]
2. A Career Mode that doesn't suck (NASCAR 08,09 = WORST EVER)3. A Franchise/Dynasty Mode which creates new drivers/sponsors/teams [As in fake sponsors or team/driver transactions? Also, no number 3?]
4. Real Drivers switching rides after a contract/start a team [They did this up until 2008, I think]
Add Some of your ideas!!
1. Team/driver silly season transactions in single player and season or owner mode
2. Decent physics
3. Highly customizable paint booth/shop
4. Ability to race created cars online

NT03 where numbers aren't small in paint booth. Dirt to Daytona/nr2003 physics. realistic fake drivers/tracks. really i love Nascar Thunder 2003, just the backmarkers can suck.

I'm sorry, what? I can't play any of the Codemasters F1 games because the crashes just feel so wrong. It completely puts me off playing.

I meant the way the cars fall apart when they hit each other/ the barriers and how the tire walls fall apart.RetrogradeRenegade wrote:Metro 6r4 wrote:-The crash realism from Codemasters

Due to the way F1 is, Codemasters can't do that properly. I very much thought the damage simulation in Grid was very good.

Re: What would make a GREAT NASCAR game?
I was referring to Grid, I don't think too highly of any games that include single seaters because no-one has properly perfecting a way of simulating what happens when the cars touch wheels.Milan655 wrote:RetrogradeRenegade wrote:Metro 6r4 wrote:-The crash realism from Codemasters

TOCA Race Driver 3 do it quite well with FFord.

Re: What would make a GREAT NASCAR game?
- Physics that actually resemble the Gen-6 car
- DLC car/scheme/track updates if a different enough sequel isn't being made
- Cup, NNS, and MAYBE trucks if they can get enough driver licenses.
- Menu design that reflects what NASCAR is about. No Apple-style sans-serif text plz.
- Photo mode like NTG11
- Lightning/Scenario Challenges
- Realistic, dynamic damage (NTG:IL was better than 2011 but still has a bit to go.)
- Online paint editor a la NASCAR 09 as well as an ingame one, and the option to assign a certain scheme to a particular driver's car
- Ability to race these schemes online, as well as a store to share them
- Roster editor and ratings a la NR2003
- Unlockable fictional/historical drivers and tracks
- Wide variety of alternate/special/previous paint schemes
- Online season mode so as to make it easier for leagues
- Custom soundtracks, synced with the game system

I'd like to see the possibility of races being cut short due to rain.

I'd rather be able to race IN the rain.
All the EA fantasy tracks
Some older NASCAR tracks (like Langhorne, Bowman Grey, Daytona Beach, etc)
Option to turn off restrictor plates
Loads of special paint schemes
Nr2003 style physics
Community made NR2003 tracks (Quincy, Decatur, Karjala, Dwyer, etc.)
Cup races for non cup NASCAR tracks, especially Eldora
Accurate dirt physics for aforementioned Eldora

Re: What would make a GREAT NASCAR game?
I'd kind of just like NR2003 with updated race rules. The game seemed to have so much potential after the 1.2.0.1 patch was released, then Papyrus collapsed. At that, it kind of lives on in iRacing, but I wouldn't know, because I don't have iRacing.

Re: What would make a GREAT NASCAR game?
What I'd personally like to see in a new Nascar game is:
Social driver interaction - Create allies and enemies off the track.
Contracts - More flexibility to work out sponsors, teams, cars, E.T.C.
Paint options - (With sponsor of course).
Owner mode - Make your own dream team.
Online - A more flexible online community.
Garage options - Work with the car.
And of course... - All 4 Nascar series!

Blow-overs, because that's what my 13 year old self was excited about when I found out about nr2003.
