She brought it back home and my girl absolutely loves it to death. It sleeps with her every night and it's really grown on her. The kitten had obviously been abandoned and we've always assumed he's never been vaccinated. He's had a lot of congestion and breathing problems like he's got a bad cold but he's had it ever since they found him and it's gotten worse over time. Tonight he had a seizure and fell off her bed in the process and that's when we noticed he was having one. It continued for about 30 seconds and afterwards he was extremely dizzy and confused, and almost looked as if he was paralyzed at times. His breathing was very shallow for a good while and his heartbeat was beyond fast. He rested for a bit and when I left tonight he had recovered to the point where he was breathing and functioning almost normally again. We've learned though that he possibly has a type of leukemia that a lot of cats are able to shake, but he was unfortunate enough to catch it as a kitten and is becoming fairly weak.
It's about the most helpless feeling in the world when you witness a seizure in person. Tonight brought back a lot of disturbing memories of my grandma having seizures in her later years when she was fighting cancer and diabetes.
Wow...thats shocking.I remember on my 2.4 km run during PE one day and just as I was rounding the very first turn,I saw one schoolmate seemingly having a seizure by the side of the track. At the next lap,he had stopped seizuring, but was just laying down on the track, motionless.Luckily,he recovered. That kitten story reminds me of that.

Just found out Jim Rathmann died. For those of you who don't know, Rathmann won the 1960 Indy 500, and his brother Dick won 13 Cup races.

By definition, he was also an F1 driver and race winner. One of 102 gone. That's always sad to hearflyingturns89 wrote:Just found out Jim Rathmann died. For those of you who don't know, Rathmann won the 1960 Indy 500, and his brother Dick won 13 Cup races.

Sadly my girlfriend's kitten just passed away. They called the vet earlier today and he was diagnosed with distemper and he passed away just about half an hour ago.

Re: The Random Discussion Thread (RDT)
Thanks to hear guys. We had expected he probably wouldn't make it after his first seizures but we still gave him some hope, there's just nothing that could have been done.
On another dark note, if anyone remembers Eddie Lynch (Sage) from SNW or anywhere else, I just received news today from Ben Atkins that he passed away on November 7th unexpectedly. I never did get along with Sage and him and I had some infamous words of hatred towards each other especially during our SNW days. However, I respected his intelligence (even though I wouldn't admit it), and he was a fierce competitor that definitely wouldn't settle for losing an argument. Rest In Peace Sage.

I use to get along with him well most of the time, and Duff is right, he was a very smart guy. Eddie was a good guy. Me and him use to do a lot of Half Life 2 and Team Fortress gaming online. It's gonna be different not playing games with him, or not talking to him about who he trolled on what forum.
RIP Eddie "O'Hara" Lynch

I missed this earlier, but yeah, seizures are scary in both people and pets, man.... about a week or two ago my dog had a seizure, thankfully his wasn't that bad... at first I didn't even realize that it was a seizure, but I noticed that he had drooled on the ground (he was laying on his side - so I didn't see it at first), so that's a pretty common thing. It still scared the shit out of me though.

This is what happened when ISRA played draw my thing, flyingturns last word was troll. The sad thing about this is that Rence is leading. You can see on the right side where you have to guess the word the word troll.

Re: The Random Discussion Thread (RDT)
I hate Dumbest Stuff on Wheels. They have absolutely no diversity. They show a stupid video, and then say something about how the people in the videos are rednecks. Even if, you know, they aren't rednecks at all. Heck, half the time the people in the videos aren't even stupid, they just have bad luck.

Re: The Random Discussion Thread (RDT)
All of those types of shows put in those fake sound effects to that make me never want to watch those shows again.
Re: The Random Discussion Thread (RDT)
I'd rather watch Dumbest Stuff on Wheels than World's Dumbest. I hate the hasbeen's they have on there anyway.
Re: The Random Discussion Thread (RDT)
I watch and enjoy much of both shows. They do have stupid stuff, however, and people not doing stupid stuff and just having bad luck, which I do not like.

Re: The Random Discussion Thread (RDT)
Very exciting news I found out today. Over the last few years, there's a local businessman by the name of Lou Mascaro who's been trying to get the county over from where I live to give him zoning rights so he can build a 3.11 mile road course on 600+ acres of land he owns. Well, after a long legal battle, and months of preparation, it appears that construction will begin taking place early 2012. Very cool to soon have a race track bigger than a half mile less than half an hour from where I live.
