Stewart wins for the 7,000,000th time in a row. The drivers should be fine, but the fans, I think, are the main concern. Holy shit, how did Larson get out OK?

wait, did Kyle Larson destroyed the catchfence? I couldn't tell because I was watching Dale Jr's onboard from Racebuddy on NASCAR.com
Looks like a small section is torn up.
Wow, that ended just like I thought it would. Didn't count on a catch fence though. Damn.

Hope the fans are ok, Larson's car looks like Andy Farr's machine after it's crash in 94.

Looking over the DVR, it looks like Larsen's car hit the fence from the top of the car down, so that would mean the weight of the car wouldn't have been behind the engine when it was torn out. That could mean that there wasn't as much energy in those parts as we fear.

Anyway, I hope everyone's okay. My God, the entire engine block along with the wheels (not the tires, THE WHEELS) is lodged in the catch fence. I'm already hearing reports of injuries. Wow...

Really hope all those people in the stands are okay, and I hope they make a quick recovery.

Horrifying wreck. The part that worries me most is that we're not hearing anything specific, which normally means that it's really bad.

I've heard the announcers say several times that fans are being treated by medical personnel. How serious these injuries are, I can't say.

Let's be real here: Kyle Larson was DEAD TO RIGHTS the moment he went up into the air. There is no reason why he should have been able to climb out relatively unscathed.
Really glad that all the drivers involved are okay. Let's hope for the best as far as any injuries in the stands.

A NASCAR.Com production crew may have been seriously injured in this. They were right around that area when the wreck happened, their equipment was spotted near the wreck.

Again, COT. It may get a lot of (irrational) hate, but it did its job as far as Larson is concerned.
And holy cow on that tire. That's a long way up for it to go. I really hope there weren't fans in its path.

Naturally, it was ALL Brad Keselowski's fault. He wrecks everyone all the time.
That is a load of crap and you know it. Regan Smith himself took the blame for that. it wasn't like Keselowski went down five lanes and turned Larson into the fence. But then again, you're the same guy who can't let the Phoenix incident go. You're just another part of the bandwagon that thinks blaming Brad Keselowski is cool because he's "such a dirty driver".
It was the last lap at Daytona, they were going for it, Regan Smith tried to block, and it went horribly wrong. It was nothing more than a freak accident.

I may get a vacation for this but you're a fucking moron. wrecks like these are more likely than you think, regardless on who started the wreck, it's not their fault.
Besides, Brad had no idea that this aftermath was going to happen.

This x1000. This is no time to be placing blame when we could have some spectators fatally injured. Forget about who caused the wreck, I want to hear that everyone's going to be alright.

Basically this wreck was all just a racing deal, Regan Smith tried to block but Keselowski had his bumper slightly ahead of him, and then again the drivers behind just have to do whatever they can to get through the wreck unscathed.

They're COT's. You can get injured in a COT (mostly if a freak accident happens like McClure last year), but the chances of death are basically none.

This. It's not the first time I've him freak out like that.
I find it ironic that the wreck just happened because I know there's renovations supposed to be made within a couple of years and I'm sure it's to make the fans safer. This is what I think what will happen tomorrow:
During the race, no fans are allowed to walk alongside the fence unless the race is under caution or a red flag. This applies to sceurities as well, who will make sure the fans won't walk out of the stands to walk along the fence when the racing is going on. Even though debris flew into the stands, it should at least prevent some injuries. Like I said, there are renovations to be made soon and I know they have everything planned out.

Re: Drive4COPD 300- NASCAR Nationwide Series
I'm not impressed by misinformed people laying the blame on one driver when it was a typical "fight to the finish" Daytona race. If you really, truly think Keselowski caused this, you need to get your subscription glasses checked.
This was a really nasty accident. I felt my gut drop when I saw a car lift up into the catchfence and I still don't think it has recovered. Hoping for the absolute best.

Noted. My emotions got the best of me and I well realize that this was just a racing incident.
