Landon Cassill bails on BK Racing

If you want to put this in the Copypasta thread, then sorry about that, but I figured this deserves a thread of its own

Unless something is up with BK Racing, this is an odd move on Cassill's part.

Career suicide if you ask me...unless he has another ride in the wings.

That's why I almost have to think that something is amiss at BK Racing. Unless he is seriously being misled by someone, or he thinks that because he is young, he can just up and leave, and at least by next season, end up finding the ride, you just don't up and leave an oppoturnity like this without something more going on.

It's technically in the Copypasta thread already but "championship caliber test driver" might be the most hilarious statement I've ever heard from a driver.

Yeah but Badoers time was in an era of unlimited testing. Cassil's was in the middle of a testing ban.

From what I'm hearing, it was something to do with BK not meeting all their contractual obligations, so I'm wondering if maybe there's gonna be a lawsuit soon.

Heard he did a similar thing with JR Motorsports as well...

Agreed but i think he was never at JRM, just Hendrick's #5 in NNS but i could be mistaken

Some races in 2008 and 2010, he raced for the team.

If he did the same thing there, this won't help that reputation.

He had such a great cult following too. Latest rumour is 2nd JTG Daughtey car if he can find sponsorship.

Cassill stayed with Hendrick after his 08 season with JRM as a test driver, but I believe he lost his JRM ride due to not finding sponsorship, and then left Hendrick because there was really nowhere to go within Hendrick, and somewhat hit a dead end. Of course, I could be wrong all together. That's just what I remember. I was really starting to become a fan of him too. If he left for no reason, then Yeah, he is an idiot.

Has Pheonix filled all of its appearances with drivers?

Smith for Daytona and half the season, Adderallinger for the other half, A. Dillon for some stupid arse reason he's not in Papa's team for Vegas. Unless they split it up into thirds, then Cassill probably won't be with Phoenix. Though since Reuti's now with BK maybe Cassill can go XXXXXXTTTRRRRREEEEEEEEMMMMMMMMMEEEEEEE.

Anyway, Cassil is (for all intents and purposes) gone. I doubt we'll be hearing much from him, other than the occasional plate track top-10.

Being Anonymous wise he has competition from...

Montoya (Who will probably get on TV sometime by bursting into flames)
McMurray (Who will run 4th one race and disappear late in the race)
Ragan (Who you'll see finish 10th in an attrition filled race and say "WAIT HE STILL HAS A RIDE???"
