General Predictions.
- TriStar sacks their pay drivers (Hal Martin and Blatent Sh!t) when their cash runs out.
- Mike Bliss gets TriStar's first win in their two decades of existence
- Joey Logano is terrible at Penske
- Danica Patrick has a mediocre rookie season
- Jacques Villeneuve or Max Papis wins at Mid Ohio.
- Someone should put Tommy Byrne in a car for Mid Ohio, because he is considered to know Mid Ohio better than anyone in the world (he works for the track and runs on it daily. Sadly I highly doubt he will get into a car)
- Ron Hornaday is fired and retires from racing without a ride a la Sterling Marlin at the end of the year.
- Mayfield reappears in another form of racing (probably USAC)
- Brian Scott is a disaster at RCR
- Jimmie Johnson and Carl Edwards battle for the championship.
- We never hear from John King again
- Someone will be seriously injured in Talladega. It won't be fatal but it will be the RL equivalent of Woody Watts, as in they can't drive again. Not to be dark and I hope I'm wrong. Most likely in the Nationwide cars due to high speeds and many incompetent drivers.
- At the nationwide Daytona or Talladega race, Mike Bliss and Joe Nemechek take off from the rest of the field in a tandem draft on the last lap and one of them wins.
- David Ragan loses his ride at the end of the season.

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series

First-time winners: Stenhouse (Almirola will come SO close)
Most wins in a season: Matt Kenseth and Clint Bowyer (4)
Upset of the year:
-Stenhouse finishes 14th in points, and misses chase by 2 points.
-Blaney pushes Logano to the win at one Plate race, if so most likely the 500
-Jeff Gordon has 5 wins (see below)
-Danica, despite failure, collects 2 top 10's and is praised (Glen, some Plate race)
-Stenhouse finishes in the top 5 in the last 3 races, but with only one win, 14th won't be enough.
-the 500's top 5 due to a late wreck: Logano, Kurt Busch, Blaney, Kyle Busch, Vickers.
Disappointments:
-Gordon's luck hits him in the mid-season, but 2 early wins seal his chase, with and 18th place points finish. Then uncharacteristic mistakes cost him his 5th title.
-Kahne is consistent, but finishes 2nd 4 times, and bad luck down the strech and misses the chase
-Greg Biffle (see above)
-Montoya doesn't suck (maybe makes chase)
-Kyle Busch (see above)
-Lolgano (see above, but misses chase)
-BK racing gets top 5's in 2 plate races (maybe
-McMurray does suck
-Menard mediocres to somehow make the chase in 12th with a win at some snooze fest.
-Ambrose finishes 11th with 5 podiums, but no wins and no chase.
Best race of 2012: Martinsville, Talladega
Worst race of 2012: Every 1.5-mile race except chase Kansas
Retirees at season end: Blaney if he has bad luck, Bobby Labonte if he wins, or somehow does worse.
Driver of the year: Truex with 20 Top 10s before the chase, but no wins.
Reject of the year: Newman Dan-an-an-an-an-an-an-an-anica
Most likely to lose ride in the middle of the season: Newman (screws up bad on and off the track)
Champion: Truex after 26, Bowyer in the next 10
Runner-up: Bowyer after 26, Gordon after 10 (screws himself early in the chase trying to retaliate, wins 3 times, but wrecks at Pheonix)

-EGR downsizes to one, and the position battle will be hard, but McMurray gets a huge contract at a team like Petty or Penske and JPM gets car
-RCR mediocres its way to two chasers; no wins.
-Petty gets bigger sponsor contracts for 2014, maybe some EGR's lost ones
-Regan Smith gets a ride late season, maybe switching on-off with Burton or in the 55 or some SHR car.
-Labonte trolls the Martinsville chase race by winning

Clint Bowyer won 3 races and finished 2nd in point this year...I don't know who could be a better choice when Roush is probably gonna screw Penske and Jimmie's chase streak is effectively done. I don't know what you've been watching but Bowyer is the #1 driver of that team.

If the Roush deal is true and their equipment is good as it's been with Stenhouse then Pastrana has a good shot at winning, Johanna might not win but weirder things have happened so it never hurts to be hopeful for a driver you like

I know Tanner and Alta did this already, but Bowyer has proven to do pretty damn good in MWR equipment.

I guess I've never really viewed MWR to be a powerhouse team. I mean, coming into the Chase, I knew Truex was out of it. I had some faith in Bowyer for a bit, but I could feel that he just didn't have enough for the 2 and 48, who were just pulling away for a championship battle between themselves. Maybe. It seemed like Burton was in the middle of nowhere all year while Harvick had some good races. Menard was almost the same as Burton.

That's probably the reason why they'll win the title. In NNS, Sadler's out of the 2 and they're making the 21 a 3rd full-time car, so I could see Austin being focused on a bit more. But going back to what you said about RCR's Cup program, I might be wrong.

If Gilliland won, yes; if Mears won, no. He won the Coke 600 in 2007. Those are two examples of drivers that could upset and win. I don't actually think we'll see a first-time winner in 2013 though.
