Pacifica Cup (Sydney Pre-race posted)
Approved by Cynon
With the rise of the PCC Cup Series, Australian motorsport enthusiast/billionaire Peter McCormick thought he should have a stock car series based in Australia. Thus, the Pacifica Cup was born. The inaugural season was run in 1999 in tracks exclusively to Australia. However in 2004, the series spread to, Japan, China, Malaysia, The middle east, New Zealand, and Singapore. The series has run mostly on ovals, except when the series made trips to Calder Park, and Twin Ring Motegi. Now there is talk about a few more ovals in the works. American interest in the sport rose in 2012, when it was announced that the Pacifica Cup would have two races in the United States, and one race in Canada. Interest also rose with the rise of PCC Cup Driver Ian Elias, who has been doing decent in the PCC Cup Series.

Re: Pacifica Cup (Sydney Pre-race posted)
Pacifica Cup announces major race to debut themselves in the United States
Peter McCormick flew to America to tour 2 of 4 future Pacifica Cup Series tracks. This is what he had to say about them, "Both Mazda Raceway Park and the California Speedway are world class facilities. I am counting on California to bring a huge crowd for are American debut. Because of that we had to get interesting in promoting the race." Peter McCormick then announced a very surprising format for the Fontana race. "Motor Racing is huge in the US, and the Pacifica Cup wants to hit all television markets around us. So myself, and California Speedway, would like to announce, The All American 700, the longest Oval track race in the world at 700 mi/1127Km! This race will be huge! Because of its length, each driver will require a reserve driver that must run half of the race. We are doing this, to increase the amount of American Racers in the race. Because if we get some big name racers, we will hit even harder on the American Motorsports map."

Re: Pacifica Cup (Sydney Pre-race posted)
Many tracks compete for remaining spots on the Pacifica Cup Schedule
Reports have it, that Pacifica Cup CEO; Peter McCormick is coming close to finalizing the schedule. However this has only raised tension among possible race promoters for the remaining dates. Reports have it that Peter McCormick was talking with officials from Oran Park, Hidden Valley, and Lakeside Speedway in Australia. Reports are also coming in that Calder Park, may also receive a second race on its road course. On the American side of things, Pacifica Cup will most likely announce that the series will go to Brazil for the first time. More reports are stating that Peter McCormick is close to signing with Portland International Raceway for the final American spot.

A little history
List of previous champions
1999: Eric Perth
2000: Greg Perry-Markus
2001: Eric Perth
2002: Yuji Ikkoyama
2003: Eric Perth
2004: Ian Elias

2006 Greg Perry-Markus
2007: Ian Elias
2008: Ian Elias
2009: Ian Elias
2010: Ian Elias
2011: Tom McCormick
2012: Wait and See
The first race of the series took place at the Sandown Circuit. Eric Perth won that race. Perth was very strong at Sandown specifically; no one in the series ever beat him there. Till his death in a traffic accident, 3 weeks before the 2006 season was set to begin. Greg Perry-Markus was the first person from Western Australia to start a race, at Barbagallo in 2000. He won that race. Yuji Ikkoyama is the only non-Australian to win in the Pacifica Cup. However since then he hasn't been very strong, in fact he has been in the mid-field since then. In 2004 a young rookie by the name of Ian Elias set foot at the new Birch Park International. He won that race, as well as 9 of the 12 that year. He won 5/6 championships he raced in the series before leaving for the PCC Cup Series. Tom McCormick won the 2011 championship, mainly because of a questionable call by the stewards (Led by his brother) at Suzuka. 2011 was also the first year a non-Australian or New Zealand track was on the schedule, with races at Suzuka and Fuji International. Fuji was dropped in 2012 due to the 2011 race seeing massive accidents entering turn 1. It's replacement is Twin Ring Motegi. Speaking of ovals, The Calder Park Thunderdrome was the first oval added to the series back in 2005. In response to Australian interest in American forms of motorsport such as the PCC Cup Series. The round of Mount Panorama is a grueling 94 lap race through the mountain. It is the biggest race in the country.

What I am saying is, there is no real set of contingency decals. If you want you can, but I could care less
Ratings System
This can be confusing so I will put this in steps for you.
1. Each ratings block has four categories
Short Track:
Speedway:
Superspeedway:
Road Course:
Aggression
Consistency
Qualifying
Finishing
Areodynamics
Chassis
Engine
Reliability
2. Each category has a base rating of 40-60
3. For each category, you can add as many points as you want, for example
Finishing: +20
4. However each block must equal 0, example
Short Track: +10
Speedway: -5
Superspeedway: -10

There really isn't a set contig set
What I am saying is, there is no real set of contingency decals. If you want you can, but I could care less
Ratings System
This can be confusing so I will put this in steps for you.
1. Each ratings block has four categories
Short Track:
Speedway:
Superspeedway:
Road Course:
Aggression
Consistency
Qualifying
Finishing
Areodynamics
Chassis
Engine
Reliability
2. Each category has a base rating of 40-60
3. For each category, you can add as many points as you want, for example
Finishing: +20
4. However each block must equal 0, example
Short Track: +10
Speedway: -5
Superspeedway: -10
Road Course: +5
10-5-10+5=0
5. NOTE: DON'T BOTHER WITH SHORT TRACK, THERE WON'T BE ANY ON THE SCHEDULE
6. Any questions, please ask me.

Pacifica Cup Announces Race at Talladega
The Pacifica Cup Series will go to the famous Talladega Superspeedway. Talladega is known for its dangerously high speeds in the PCC Cup Series, and for its close quaters racing. This will be the first time the series will go on an oval larger than 2 miles. The Pacifica Cup Series will be visiting 6 ovals this season, Twin Ring Motegi, The California Speedway, Autodromo Daniel Estevem, Talladega, Calder Park Thunderdrome, and the brand new Canberra Speedway will fill round 18.

Re: Pacifica Cup (Sydney Pre-race posted)
McCormick trying to get big name's added to the international, possible championships?
Peter McCormick has previously said that he wants to have the international tours in America and the Far East be a sucsess. However before today, he hasn't said how he plans on doing that. Today he announced his plan to get fan support on these international tours. "We have intentionally placed our American races on weekends the PCC Cup Series have off. So therefore, we are targeting those racers, to run in one-off positions at Mazda Raceway Park, Talladega, and Brazil. For the All-American 700, we want to use these American superstars to relive our drivers throughout the race. But for the other 3 races, WE WANT AMERICAN RACERS ATTEMPTING THESE RACES! WE WANT LOCAL RACERS, RACING IN THE FAR EAST TOUR! So I am proposing 2 championships, within the main championship. All the part time drivers racing in the Far-East will compete in a 3 race championship. These Far East Championship contenders, will not be able to participate full time, or in the American Championship. Now the American championship will work the same way, Mazda Raceway Park, Talladega, and Brazil, will be the American Championship. Notice, I am not including Fontana. Because that will require relief drivers. So therefore, Far-East championship contenders can relive the regular drivers and attempt a one-off position in the All-American 700." It is unknown wheather the proposed championships will happen. However, it is expected to gain support. Ian Elias stated to the press, "If they run an American Championship, I'll run in it." It is unknown weather or not if any other American teams or drivers are interested. Or if any Far-East drivers are interested.
OOC: Please, post if your drivers in the PCC Cup Series, or any American racer is interested or not.

Re: Pacifica Cup (Sydney Pre-race posted)
The due date is pushed back to the 31st. However, If you get your cars in early, you will be included in the promo video, and be included in pre-season testing. Which cars that take part in pre-season testing, tend to be faster in most series, so just expect a little ratings boost if you get them in early. Pre-season testing starts Tuesday the 16th.

Re: Pacifica Cup (Sydney Pre-race posted)
The first pre-season testing session will be run tomorrow. For each of the 4 sessions, I will add a 5 point rating boost on each of your car ratings. So the cars arn't due till the 27th, however you'll be at a disadvantage.
Mark Elias talks about his pre-season private testing sessions
Mark Elias, younger brother to the famous Pacifica Cup driver, Ian Elias. Is a rookie in the 2012-2013 Pacifica Cup Series season, driving for the Ausport Team. He had this to say after a private testing session at Symmons Plains. "The Inglesby handles with ease, but we are still down a bit on power. Our cars are bullet proof, however we have some, "expirmental parts" that I can not go into that are giving us some reliability issues." The only other team that has belived to have done some sort of private testing, is the Spannerhead Cars. However neither driver as of yet has spoken to the media.
OOC: Please post media updates on how your teams and drivers are preparing for the season.

Re: Pacifica Cup (Sydney Pre-race posted)
The first testing session for the Pacifica Cup Series took place at Birch Park International. Tom McCormick led for the majority of the 30 minute session, however he was involved in the only incedent in the session when Dylan Andrew blew up right in the racing line coming out of turn 4. McCormick slammed into him. Engine issues were the story of the day, as Andrew's half sister Magenta, in the Dora The Explorer 29 car blew up in a spectacular cloud of smoke coming down the frontstrech. With 2 minutes to go in the session, Charolette Boardman took the top of the time-sheets and won the first testing session.
