It's Never Too Early to Think About Rockford...
Base: BGN 2003 AC Delco (Colors changed by me!)
Template: EFR (2010 Nemoto Celerox)
Decals & Signature: Cynon (TM Master Cup fan contest things)
Numbers: MasGrafx
Contingencies: Ceej (2011 ARLA Contingencies)
I am really proud of how this one turned out. Like the title says, it's never too early to think about paints for future races. I'll admit the car looks a bit plain on the front, but on the sides I like how my changes came in. Thanks to Cynon for the advice on what colors to use, and all the painters on the ISRA TeamSpeak who gave me advice in all other facets of painting.
Unfortunately, I wanted to put a Gold Star logo on the sides, but the template wasn't playing nice so I had to abandon those plans

Quite good overall for only your second car, but a few fixes are in order to make it even better.
- Roof numbers should be rotated 180* the other way.
- Blue stripe doesn't match the logo.
- Numbers might work better with a second stroke.

Template wasn't playing too nice, so I couldn't make as many adjustments as I wanted. I may re-do the hood because I tried so many times to adjust it to make it even, but it kept moving the base instead. Might have to re-start from there, try to re-create it, and go from there.

You need to be on the decals layer if you're going to move them around. I found that selecting each decal and moving them individually works really well.
On an unrelated note, this is a link to the layer I use to line stuff up in each area. Paste as the absolute top layer of your favorite template and go to town. Just make sure to turn off when you're done.

Hahaha, I like this! Just rotate the roof number and it'll be awesome!

Won't that make the plates at the top of the roof that are supposed to stabilize the car going to be backwards? Rendering them useless?

The flaps are on a highlight and shading layer. As long as the number is underneath those layers especially the body shading layer, the flaps should stay put.
Re: It's Never Too Early to Think About Rockford...
I never thought that flipping the number would change the flaps. I always thought they were on different layers or something. I'm a noob at painting so I didn't know.gwoodard41 wrote:Chives2112 wrote:Hahaha, I like this! Just rotate the roof number and it'l be awesome!

It won't, unless you merged the image and then tried to flip it. As long as you leave everything in each layer you can change individual things at will.
