My first attempt at a paintjob
Template: Omecha MA02
Base: Custom made in GIMP paint.
Numbers: I didn't put numbers since this car was a replica of a street car.
Logo: Google.
Props to whoever can tell me what inspired this livery. If anyone wants to render it, i'll send em the TGA file.

I can see my attempts have inspired others. Most interesting
Gonna be completely honest, I like the base. Simple but effective. I'm wondering what the Japanese kanji characters mean.

The Japanese kanji characters are "Fujiwara Tofu Shop". This car was a little homage to one of my favorite anime of all time, Initial D. Since it's based off a japanese car, i tried to make it similar to the real car by putting the decal on the right side door, and by attempting to make a base similar to the actual real life car this scheme was based off.

I'd say it came out rather well

well, i didn't think this car was gonna turn out that well either. It took me about an hour or two to get the stripes right. All in all, at least 2-3 hours were spent on the car. I'm gonna probably do an improved version next. Do you know anyone who could render it for me? I do have NR2003 and could put it in, but for some reason it doesn't work with the no-cd patch.

Look at Delgado's first car thread. Someone (i forget who) rendered it for him. Or, post it in the requests.

Re: My first attempt at a paintjob
Well, i just went into NR2003 and tested this livery. Seemed kinda glitchy. And the stripes were way off. So i'm gonna have to do some more editing. Gonna take me more than an hour to finish.

Was it on a wrong template or something?

Re: My first attempt at a paintjob
The layers might have been moved or screen capped a little too far to the left.

It was on a chevy mesh like the template said. Although, i'm not sure if i imported it correctly.

Don't forget to turn off the mask layer too.

i'll see what i can do. I'll probably need at least a day or two to get a better livery worked out for you to render.

Thanks, Navycook. I've just finished the second version, it's had some edits, and i took care to make sure that the stripes will be more even this time around.

Here is the first revision, the stripes have been improved, and care has been taken to make the scheme flow better throughout the car.

Re: My first attempt at a paintjob
It helps the rendering process when you turn off the mask layer.

Re: My first attempt at a paintjob
Edit: i did put it in Nr2003, and it's better than my last paint scheme for reasons beyond my control.

I recommend using Carviewer which will help you line up your bases while you are painting.

Alright Antknee. Can you send a link to Carviewer? And I'm working on a different car that's not the Fujiwara tofu shop car that you rendered just now. Thankfully, i watched a tutorial and used it to improve my cars slightly so it will give a better final product. I will get to work on a well lined up Fujiwara tofu shop car sometime soon.

Disregard, I have found the Link!

Look for carviewer.zip
There is also a truck viewer version right under it.
