Re: NAPA Auto Parts 200 - Nationwide Series
those massive cars will just barely fit on the track. its gonna be hilarious
Re: NAPA Auto Parts 200 - Nationwide Series
I see a couple of current and former NASCAR Canadian Tire Series drivers on the entry list.

Apparently the #9 being driven by Marcos Ambrose for this race is not the Kevin Harvick, Inc. car, but a RPM car, and the sponsor is listed as Stanley. I'm curious as to if they plan to use the Cup scheme for that car, and how it will look like on the Nationwide car.

I guarantee a great race and finish like we've had since we first started racing here in 2007. 2009 and 2010 were especially great races and finishes.

Re: NAPA Auto Parts 200 - Nationwide Series
i agree with navycook. considering nascar doesnt care about tracks that are not on the sprint cup circuit, chances are montreal's out of the circuit. even iowa eventually will be.
Re: NAPA Auto Parts 200 - Nationwide Series
It has nothing to do with NASCAR not wanting it back. It's NASCAR not being able to afford it. The Quebec government wants $5,000,000 added to the contract.

if they put that track in the cup series, i would understand. but their second tier series? looks like its sayanara.

i tell you what there are drivers from all sorts of series in here. we might find one of these guys getting promoted once the days done.

I will be livid if they replace Montreal with some crappy oval track. Mosport since i think i heard that Fellows owns a stake of the track.

I agree with this. I think if Montreal is not on the schedule next year, then Mosport should be the replacement, but knowing NASCAR it probably won't happen.Alta wrote:I will be livid if they replace Montreal with some crappy oval track. all of this is plainly why i fail to care about the nationwide series anymore, especially that three of the four tracks not in the cup circuit (montreal, lor/orp/irp, nashville) are out. i follow cup series. bar none.

Re: NAPA Auto Parts 200 - Nationwide Series
Iowa getting a Cup date wouldn't be a bad thing. Heck, it would be a start, having some kind of new short track being thrown on the schedule.
As for Montreal. It's sad that it's looking like this will be the last race (for now) there. Probably the greatest road course for NASCAR racing. If NASCAR was smart, it should of gotten a Cup date, and still should.

the frances are too stupid to think of putting montreal in the scedule. if theyre changing the cot right at the point where it looks good chances are they wont go there. ditto for iowa, which likely wont be on for another five years at least.

I agree. People seem to have flooded to the track for the Nationwide Series, I could only imagine they would be rivaling F1 for spectators at the race if they had a Cup race there, and the Quebec government saying "Yes, we will do anything to have you guys come every year!"

I may be mistakes but the nns race at Montreal get more fans than f1 cause of pricing but I may be wrong.

Well, even if that is the case, you figure a Cup race could make good money. Maybe not F1 money, but good money regardless

right, and if there is a cup race, chances are ticket prices might go up, so there might be the same amount of people but more revenue

D.J. Kennington!!! Only thing is that it's a Jennifer Jo Cobb car, so hopefully he wont start-and-park.

I'm glad DJ is in there too ... but it will most likely be start & park because Jennifer Jo Cobb hates start & parking so she steps out of the car so someone else can and so she doesn't look hypocritical.

Odds are rain tires aren't free, so isn't there a chance that a bunch of teams may pull out early in addition to the S&P's?
EDIT: Just checked the weather. Doesn't look like rain until about 6 PM.

Getting spun by the 88 from the looks of things and then trying to do a three point turn when she should have attempted a spin turn. In short, she made a fool of herself.
