Red Horse Racing shuts down #7 of John King

RHR suspends operations on #7 team: Red Horse Racing announced today, the team will suspend operations of the #7 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series team driven by rookie of the year contender, John King, effective immediately. Due to lack of sponsorship funding, the #7 will be cutting back its program until further notice. The organization will continue to operate the #17 entry driven by Timothy Peters and the #11 entry driven by Todd Bodine.(Red Horse Racing PR)(5-29-2012)

I had a feeling they would shut down a team eventually, but I thought it was going to be Bodine.

Win first race of the year, shut down early in the season.

Kind of wish they got rid of Bodine, King been failing only early in his career...Bodine been failing for quite a while as of late.

I don't how big a facepalm to give, so I will leave it at this...

So... can the Daytona truck winner, but leave a Bodine in a ride...

The team owners these days are so illogical it's pathetic. We pretty much know Todd Bodine can bring in sponsor while John King, who is hardly known by anyone, has little to none sponsors to back him up. Sad, really.

LOL John King. But team owners have done this before, remember Mike Bliss and Phoenix racing, when Bliss won at Charlotte and then James Finch decided to fire him cause he didn't win enough races. Todd Bodine just needs to retire or something, he's making himself look like a fool out on the track. Oh well, King's going to a SNP team probably.

Agreed. 10 years ago, Trevor Bayne winning the Daytona 500 would have gotten him a full time sponsor, and a good team right after that win. Now... just sad really

While it is sad, King's career wasn't going to go anywhere. Not that Bodine has anywhere to go from here, but at least he can get top fives at cookie-cutters.

Remember this is the team that took T.J. Bell over Johnny Benson.
